Simply put, leave your dogs home.
We stayed here for one of the biggest dog shows in the country. Our show recommends roughly two dozen accommodations where they have arranged special pricing and consideration for the show dogs.
We reserved a 3 bedroom condo for 3 people. Like most dog show people, we only used the condo to sleep and shower because most days were 12+ hours long.
Due to our show pricing we were only charged a $50 pet fee and they held a deposit until check out.
When we checked out, we left the room spotless. Beds were tidy, counters and kitchen cleaned, trash out, dishwasher running and dirty towels were piled in the bathroom floors ready to be collected. We even took wet wipes and wiped down the floors and surfaces (as we do in any accommodation). If we had had access to a mop or broom, we would have used them. We are fantastic guests. Additionally, our dogs are clean, well groomed, parasite free, quiet and well behaved.
Several days later I was aware of an additional $100 charge. When I called about it, I was told there was an excessive amount of hair in the condo. Because I had heard stories in the past, I videoed the condo when I was leaving and asked them for proof of their own claim. I was emailed a picture of two small, white/cream tumbleweeds of hair....... thats weird...... we have Belgian Sheepdogs who have long black hair. In not one of their pictures was there a single strand of long black hair.
Thankfully, the manager I spoke to was kind, professional and accommodating. He made it right. He also mentioned at least 75 other guests got charges ranging from $100 to $300. Do that math....
In our dog groups on FB there are many stories of this happening to others at this resort. Wrong color hair, wrong texture, dogs that didn't even end up staying in the rooms.... It's all coming off icky.
The $50 isn't for the extra vacuuming it *may* take for dogs in the room. Allegedly they had to "bring special cleaners in to clean our room" (because of the two tumbleweeds). Interestingly enough, there was no notation of a dirty room or excess hair on the day we received housekeeping. We checked out 3 days later after a 8 day stay.
Making this story so ironic, when we checked in, there was crumbs all under the bench seat of the dining room table like children had sat and eaten there. Because we aren't complainers and the rest of the unit seemed clean, we wiped up what we could. If it takes a specialized team to clean hair, I can only imagine the super team it takes to do crumbs
.....but it would appear minimal vacuuming is being done regardless.
Other than that, the resort is nice, convenient and quiet. We used both the general store and pool grille and they were great and staffed with attentive and friendly staff even though the café worker wouldn't break my $20 (to tip housekeeping) unless I purchased something.
It is apparent this resort wants to see ZERO signs of any dog being in their dog friendly units. Orlando has a lot of options and its just not worth the headache to risk the additional charges especially when their claims don't match the dogs in the rooms. We will likely find other accommodations next year.

I love this place. The three bedroom suites are reasonably priced and are actually full bedrooms with two full size beds each in two rooms, and a master with a queen and a master bedroom. And a washer dryer, so we'll finish our trip with no duty laundry! And a kitchen to cook some eggs in the morning. The maintenance is pretty good, showers are hot but definitely not hot hot, the cabinets are dated, but for the price I'm very happy. I've stayed here twice and will definitely be back. MaryLou at the desk was always sweet to us. Pool looked nice but we never went.

This was my second time here in the past three years and I was definitely disappointed with the way some issues were handled. Five times in three days our cards stopped working and two technicians in three days to fix our door lock. I was told by Michael that I would receive compensation for the inconvenience and we transferred to another room instead of staying in that room and not being able to leave it for the night while awaiting another technician the next day. Honestly other than the dishonesty in regards to compensation which I never received and some poor maintenance, it’s a really lovely place. It definitely needs some maintenance in the rooms and was told I would receive a credit for the inconvenience which did not happen . I just want to update that the issue with not receiving a credit when I was told I would has been resolved and appears to be a honest mistake and is being corrected.

Our stay at Floridays Holiday Resort in Orlando was extremely disappointing and included a serious safety incident. On our first night, we became locked INSIDE our bedroom due to a faulty doorknob and were unable to exit. We were trapped for about 20 minutes until an engineer arrived to let us out. During this time, we were unable to access our baby and 5-year-old, which was frightening and unacceptable. Situations like this should never happen, especially at a family resort.
Beyond this alarming incident, the condition of the room was poor. Many of these things could be overlooked if it was one or two issues, but the accumulation of all of them is just unacceptable.
- Pillows were toddler-sized and uncomfortable
- Living room furniture was worn, sagging, and uncomfortable
- Bathroom faucet handles fell off
- Broken doorknob throughout the unit
- Curtains don't cover the windows all of the way
- Not enough towels were provided
- Kitchen supplies were extremely limited, barely functional
- Rusted dishwasher
- Windows were so thin that we could hear every car passing on the highway
- Some windows are broken and repaired with tape, which felt unsafe and unprofessional
What made this worse is that when we raised the issue at checkout, the front desk had no record or awareness of the lock-in incident, and we were told a manager would call us back. That lack of communication and accountability is very concerning.
This experience fell far below expectations for a resort of this caliber. Between the unsafe room situation and the overall poor maintenance, we would not stay here again and would caution other families to think carefully before booking.
Edit: We would love to discuss this further with management and we left a note at the front desk. We have yet to be contacted by management to sort this out.

Nice size room. Staff was helpful when I wanted to switch my room even upgraded to a 3 bedroom from a 2 bedroom. Room was clean but not 5 star due to age but nothing major. If you are looking for a 2 or 3 bedroom option at a reasonable price Floridays Resort is a good option.
