The staff here are excellent. I feel so looked after. Manuela, Anna and Angela are exceptional. Nothing is too much trouble for them. I have a dietary requirement and Manuela talked me through the menu. Fantastic 😍 Hotel is beautiful and it's a great location overlooking the sea. Food is excellent and plentiful. Highly recommended!

We've have spent a week here and we had the best time. The location is amazing, right next to the beach.
The two younger women at the reception were incredibly helpful and friendly and made sure we had a smooth check in and welcomed us so warmly. We appreciated their help regarding different informations about the resort policy and local transportation. We were welcomed with a taste of their local wine, which was so good, we bought three bottles to bring home 😅
The room was big, clean and nice. The bed was so comfortable and the view was just the best.
The food and drinks (you have to try their sangria) offered were diverse, with different a theme for each day. I am a vegetarian and i must say that i had plenty of delicious food to eat, so if you are one too, i wouldn't worry.
The staff in the eating area were also very friendly and helpful and made sure we had a pleasant experience.
The terrace is big and nice, holding an amazing view. I really appreciated the dedicated smoking tables here, which are far enough from the others so you don't disturb the non-smoking guests, but still have an amazing view.
They also have a nice pool and plenty of chairs in the pool area, as well as a sauna.
All in all we had an amazing experience and will definitely choose this place if we get a chance to come back to Madeira.
Special thanks to the hard working staff! ❤️

We had a wonderful time in this lovely hotel. We walked into Funchal along the beautiful promenade. The sea is just in front of the hotel and lulls you to sleep at night .The hotel was in a quieter area but close enough to bars and restaurants if you desire a change .
The staff were very helpful and friendly, the hotel is clean and comfortable.
I would have liked a mattress topper as I found the bed too firm .A little criticism for the food ,there was plenty to chose from but could be a little better. However I would return and recommend.
Thank you to everyone who gave us a lovely holiday

The Pestana Ocean Bay All Inclusive Hotel offered us a relaxing atmosphere and beautiful ocean sunset views. My wife and I had a great time there. We spent 7 days there. The food was fresh and delicious. The drinks were good. We especially liked the white wine. The service was also great. Our room was spacious and comfortable with daily sheets changed.

The Pestana Royal Ocean & Spa Resort delivers on its promise of a memorable getaway. Surrounded by a spectacular coastal promenade, the hotel offers quick access to the striking black volcanic sands and rocky shores of Formosa Beach via a convenient elevator. From the moment you arrive, the warm and welcoming staff, vibrant grounds, and all-inclusive service - featuring a wide variety of quality dishes and drinks - work in perfect harmony to provide a relaxing stay.
Spanning 11 floors, the property’s 324 rooms are designed to suit every budget. Location is perfectly positioned for exploring: it's a 20-minute transfer from the airport, a 5-minute drive into central Funchal, and a 7-minute stroll to the Forum Madeira Shopping Centre. The hotel provides a courtesy bus into Funchal, making it easy to hop on hop off a prepaid tour of the island. Don't miss the breathtaking views from Monte, and be sure to soak in the proud, rich heritage that the Madeiran people treasure.

The staff whilst on our staff, we're brilliant. Interactive with children and hospitable 100% of the time, nothing to much for them to do!
Food was a great variety, location was far enough out the centre but close enough to travel each day. Free bus service daily. Tour buses are great value.. the centre was amazing !! Plenty to see and do. The facilities at the hotel were plentiful to keep you busy the whole time. Spa, sporting facilities nightly entertainment.. First time to Madiera , won't be the last .. great for families

From the very beginning, everything was handled perfectly. Every time I needed assistance, the staff was kind, attentive, and genuinely willing to help.
I would like to give special thanks to the hotel manager, Karina Mejias, for her understanding, care, and personal approach to my needs. She went above and beyond to make sure everything was comfortable during my stay.
Thanks to the wonderful team, my experience at the hotel was truly pleasant. I left with only positive impressions and would happily choose this hotel again.

I have had the most wonderful second stay at this hotel.
Lina in housekeeping was so hard working and always greeted us every morning with a smile and a good morning. All of the cleaning, maintenance and housekeeping term worked so hard in the background keeping everything clean and tidy and in an excellent state of repair.
The staff on the reception desk and in the restaurant were amazing - Rosan in particular who remembered us from our last visit 2 years ago. There is a pianist or guitarist playing every morning during breakfast.
There is a large choice of food in the restaurant. I loved the fact that whole blocks of butter were laid out rather than individual portions in plastic.
The bedroom was large, beautiful and quiet. The beds were large and very comfortable for me as I like a firm bed.
Thank you team Pestana Royal! ❤
Cant wait to see you all again next year!

Large spacious room with balcony, small fridge & microwave, with sea and garden views. We were All inclusive and the food was plentiful and always a good selection, and waiters were quick to top up your glass. There was a good entertainment programme. There was lift access down to the beach and from there there were pleasant walks along the promenade to Funchal and to Camera de Lobos (weather permitting) both around an hour away. The hotel ran a free shuttle bus to Funchal twice daily which was handy. The bathroom was a little dated, and the sauna in the spa wasn’t very warm but we had a really enjoyable holiday.

I just drove here half an hour to do a site check. An unfriendly guy at the gate told me i need to book a room online and then i can have a look. I wanted to discuss group options, wanted to see if they have boardrooms. Nope. You need to trust a picture online and book online. Your not allowed to look. Or even just go to a reception and ask for booking options. So thats obvioulsy not made for business at all, more for leasure one time tourists. Even if: very unprofessional. He told me: "everywhere in the world you need to book first before you can have a look." Welcome to professional hospitality!

The property is very big. We stayed in one of the sea view suite rooms and it was lovely. The room was really big and had the most fabulous view of the sea from the balcony!
This is like a small village with own swimming pools, restaurants, shops, parking places, the marina, bars, promenade, beach and even church!! Perfect for a quiet holiday. If you are looking for nightlife this isn’t the place for you. We enjoyed the sea pool and terrace during the day and were lucky to have some good weather!
The surrounding area is fantastic for hiking.
We had a hire car for the week, which was a great way to see the island, and to get to the hotel from the airport.
A nice thing was that we were greeted with welcome drinks at reception. The staff and service were very helpful and friendly.

Very nice Resort with a beautiful view from some of the rooms over they bay or little harbour. However the staff (especially the older ladies at the restaurant) is not really polite. The younger staff is very kind and willing to make your stay a great experience. Very good location to start a hike to the east end of the island and to rent a kayak tour to paddle the bay.

Quinta do Lorde resort was fantastic. It surely exceeded our expectations even for a short stay. We wished we would have booked longer. They allowed us to check-in early upon request, offering friendly service accompanied with a welcome drink. They also were so nice as to upgrade our room without request or charge to a beautiful sea view room. We couldn’t have gotten luckier with our stay. They also offer a number of pool amenities along with a private stone beach. The marina was one of the best parts with a little market and the BEST diving center in Madeira. You never really need to leave the resort. The only improvement could have been the food. It was by no means bad food, but not as traditional tasting as other restaurants in Madeira. We would definitely recommend this beautiful but quiet getaway!!!!!

This excellent hotel was a real gem in our trip to Madeira. The hotel itself has a big territory, private beach with a pool with ocean water ( and also a regular pool in the territory). We had a suite, which was very nice, big, with comfortable bed and huge bathroom.
The hotel offers a free parking, and it is better to have a car if you are staying here, it is far from anything else.
Breakfasts are good, some time the refill of the food is coming late, but in general there is nothing to complaint about. You can have a breakfast on the balcony with a spectacular view to the ocean.

We have just returned from a fabulous 4 week holiday at the Enotel Lido Madeira and can't rate it highly enough. The hotel is in a great location for sightseeing, the beachfront promenade and for walking into Funchal. We had an amazing suite which overlooked both the swimming pool and the seafront with a very large terrace which had sun loungers, parasol and table and chairs so everything we could need was on hand!
The staff at the hotel are brilliant which I have to say is a credit to the manager Snr Adalberto Dinis. Adalberto takes great care of his guests personally and he is always on hand in the restaurants and bars throughout the day ensuring guests are being looked after! The food in all of the restaurants is first class with an exceptional array of dishes. The staff in the bars and restaurants are very friendly with a special mention to Roberto, Marianna and Fabio. They Buffet Restaurant staff are so attentive that after a few days they know which drinks you have and serve them to you before you order..brilliant!!
We had a wonderful holiday and will return hence the 5 stars.
One little suggestion tho would be to introduce an App to allow booking of the A La Carte restaurants instead of the "first come, first served" as it is currently. This would prevent the need to queue outside waiting for the restaurants to open as they are very popular, especially the Asian! It would also ensure guests on shorter stays would get the opportunity to enjoy the experiences.

Had a lovely stay over Christmas. The hotel is spotless and the staff are all so friendly and attentive. The location of the hotel is perfect for walks along the coast and the views of the ocean from the hotel are stunning. Rooms are a good size and cleaned daily with amazing views of the hotel and ocean. You get reusable bottles to fill up with water at various stations around the hotel which reduces plastic waste. Food was really good with lots of choice and plenty to drink. We will return again next Christmas.

From the moment we arrived we knew we would like the Enotel Lido Hotel.
Staff were friendly and polite throughout our stay, and the hotel was clean and well maintained. The rooms were a good size with comfortable beds. They also have TVs, although I could only find one English-speaking channel.
The food was consistently good, well presented, and, importantly, regularly replenished, rather than being left sitting under hot lamps as you sometimes see elsewhere. The restaurant staff were again friendly, attentive, and very efficient at clearing tables. Meals were different each day and of course there are several restaurants to choose from.
Drinks at the bar were better than most hotels I’ve stayed in, and it was a nice touch that the bar staff would ask how you’d like your drink made.
Reusable water bottles were provided in each room, which is a brilliant idea and helps reduce waste. The hotel’s focus on minimising waste was noticeable in several areas and really refreshing to see.
All in all, a really enjoyable stay, and we look forward to returning to the Enotel Lido again.

Excellent service, from the moment you are greeted at reception. The staff make our anniversay and my wife's brithday extra special each and every year.
The food is great, Rooms are spacious with balconies and excellent sea views.

Absolutely amazing! Rooms great!
Food great! Can get amazing speciality restaurants includead in all inclusive! The only thing I can complain is shows. From all shows only ONE was awesome and it was local people! Rest was just ok, but the ONE show saved it all. Highly recommend!
