Decent hotel, dated and definitely needed some good renovation. Over all honestly if ware not bothering about the decor then it’s good place. There some ,,rules,, like deposit of euro for your plastic cup, reservation to have breakfast in terrace I been denied coffee although was plenty of empty seats. Location it’s what make this hotel good. I was all inclusive, breakfast good and lunch was good dinner was repetitive and not appetising. Don’t let negative comments put you off booking this hotel it’s average and good for short winter break.

Avoid this hotel at all cost, Hotel Beatriz Playa and spa, Matagorda,Lanzarote. Advertised as a 4star hotel, it's far from this, more like a 2 star. We staying here for 13 nights, all inclusive 2 adults and 1 child aged 10.
Residents waited 2 hours for vomit to be cleaned from a seating area beside the outdoor bar. Having complained several times to bar staff, I along with many other residents to complain we were told housekeeping would come.
All inclusive does not mean all inclusive. 2 bottles of water on arrival, no additional water given throughout our stay. Additional costs for international beers, spirits, all ice creams additional cost. €2 each to change your pool towel daily, (we were NOT advised this on arrival) after paying €10 deposit per towel on arrival to hotel.
We had a superior room with sea room. Beautiful location, however no WiFi.
Under the beds, skirting boards very dusty and dirty in areas.
Pool area very dirty, kiddies pool was the same. The walls throughout the hotel were dirty and some walls had blood stains. Visible mould in areas, lifting plaster. Roof is leaking, carpets flooded and blocked off. Reception area is very clean! Food is very poor. Excellent for people with dentures, as no chew to it!!! Avoid lunch in Bar/pool area not all food covered, such as bread, flies all over it. Green Mould in mozzarella cheese. When I told assistant about the flies and mould, he shrugged his shoulders. I was told good available in dining room.
Childrens menu; pizza, always cold like cardboard to eat, fish fingers unsafe (my daughter vomited all night after consuming). Spaghetti and pasta sauce repeatedly daily, however no one seems to eat it. Chips hit and miss, often cooked and placed in oven until needed. On consumption very brown/ dry on top, very greasy on bottom of chips. No chicken nuggets, only after several guests complaining to reception they were on tge menu for 2 nights. No sausages, mash potatoes(only watery smash mash)
My family like many more families eat out daily.
Christmas week hotel was full, food looked to improve slightly. There were alot of disappointed guests, many many compliments.
We are repeat guests at this hotel. When we last stayed here 2 years ago, the standards have dropped significantly. New owner of this hotel (apparently). Full hotel however very little staff seen. Incredibly disappointing service and care after paying so much money. We would never recommend anyone to stay here. Unfortunately for us we had to stay the remainder of our stay as all other hotels booked out on the island.
I'm still awaiting a phone call from the hotel manager, 3 wks since I first complained. I have received a reply to another review written on a different site. However I went to reception and requested a phone call many times and I still await this call.

I had a week here with my mam and we loved the hotel. We enjoyed the food and drinks. Our room was cleaned everyday and the lady that cleaned our room was lovely. The room itself was fairly big and there was a couple of chips off the bath which didn’t affect our holiday, neither did decor which a lot of people have commented on. It was lovely and clean! The majority of the staff were really friendly. We will definitely return to this hotel.

The staff are rude. I mean, VERY RUDE! Never in my life have I been treated as badly as I was at this hotel.
To begin with, there was a problem with our reservation at reception, as we booked through Booking.com and they made a mistake. I was right. The reservation was right. Booking made a mistake, but it wouldn't affect the reservation itself as I marked to pay at the property. Even after explaining, the lady at the reception didn’t want to understand, wouldn’t listen to us, and simply walked away, leaving us talking to ourselves. I had to call Booking and sort it out on my own. Cancel the reservation through Booking.com and make a new one there.
Then, at restaurant, the staff were even worse. One day at the dinner we sat in a corner because we have a small baby and I was breastfeeding. A staff member came, turned off the light above us, and told us we had to move to the other side. But the other side was full, totally crowded, and didn’t have a table big enough for four people plus a baby and stroller. He didn’t speak to us—just turned the light off and walked away, leaving us talking to ourselves and sitting in the dark.
The following day, another staff member argued with me because we sat at a table for six people, even though we were four plus a baby and stroller. He wanted us to split up into two separate tables of two, which made no sense for a family. He was extremely disrespectful, shouting at me.
In short, if you don’t want to be treated like a dog, stay away from this hotel. The food is NOT good at all, the staff will treat you badly, the beds are very uncomfortable, and the location is poor (there is absolutely nothing nearby, so you’ll need a taxi for everything) —overall, it’s NOT worth it.
The only positives were the spa (expensive, but at least I was treated with respect) and the housekeeping staff (the ladies cleaning the rooms were very nice.

Absolutely the worst hotel I have ever stayed in please do not go here you will be incredibly disappointed. I will say we knew it was a 3/4 star as we were looking for a holiday for a large family including young adults so we did not expect great quality rooms, beds, food etc .
However the service was like living in a hostel . I have never experienced such rude staff on every level from reception , bars, restaurants there were one or 2 exceptions. The maids/ cleaning were very friendly .
Check in took over 40 mins per couple and it was not at all friendly or informative. Rooms were basic which is fine you get what you pay for. Room wasn’t ready which again no major we headed to pool bar. Ordered drinks , paid went to walk away after saying tank you to fairly unfriendly bar man when he aggressively pointed at bottles gesturing to leave them saying NO ! We read between lines we couldn’t take bottles, no problem but delivery was very abrupt. Headed to table as sun was shining and It started to lash down with rain. Headed for shelter under what looked like outside cafe/bar. Nothing fancy just looked like shelter from rain. We managed to get a table to be rudely and aggressively told to GET OUT! I looked shocked and taken back explaining we were just trying to shelter from rain as we had no room yet , he could clearly see we were in travel clothes he proceeded to shout once again NO YOU GET OUT ONLY FOOD!
St this point I’m ready to check out before we even have a room .
Charge for iron , board , kettle , cups , tea and milk all separately . Yes you can have a kettle for tea but you have to hire cups separately . 😡
Reception could not be less helpful if they tried with 5/6 stood behind desk doing absolutely nothing that I could see. There were so many examples there are too many to write.
Absolutely ruined my mother’s 80th bday that 13 of us had paid to stay in this absolute bin of a hotel.
If there was nowhere else to stay I would never ever go back here again under any circumstances.
