The room (5232) was terrible. We discovered a bathroom leak as soon as we arrived to our room - water had flowed from the ceiling behind the mirror and through the ceiling light fixtures to the floor into the main living area. We let front staff know about it but they didn’t do anything except dry up the water from the floor. We kept complaining throughout our 10 day stay but they didn’t do anything about it. No compensation. They did offer to have us change rooms on our 8th evening - we only had one full day left. It was too little too late by then. There was no hot water in the shower. The food is pretty bland and menu items limited. There is no fresh guacamole or pico de gallo at the buffet. At times the pepperoni pizza had slices of hotdog on it rather than pepperoni. Cats roam freely in the buffet area. If you’re allergic at all, good luck. Pool chairs are scarce. I’m pretty sure the ratio of chairs to people is 1:4. We had to bring down our deck chairs to sit somewhere/guarantee a place to sit. There are no pool umbrellas or tables to place your drinks. They are very short staffed and no pool staff on Sundays which made the lineup at the swing bar very long. At the women’s pool bathroom one of the two stalls was out of service during our stay. The other stall was backed up for two days which people were still using and was disgusting. The only place in the evening to enjoy a drink is the Black and White bar area. It’s extremely loud (music) and smoky from people smoking cigarettes outside which wafts into the bar area. It would have been nice to have a quiet area to enjoy a drink. The place is run down ie water leak stains/damage, broken tile and countertops in bathrooms, dirty floors, etc I would not recommend this place to anyone.

As others said resort is very big! Takes a while to get from one end to the other but they have golf carts that come by often to take you where you need to go. Entertainment in the night was good Food was just ok. Rooms can definitely use A LOT of tlc. Lots of mold, broken light fixtures, dirty floors… I had garden view and it was more of bush, telephone pole and swamp view than garden Beach was average no clear water or anything worth mentioning but the view is nice. Often seeing cruise ships and nearby cities across. Wildlife all around the resort but they don’t bother you (not me anyway). Birds, racoons, coati’s, cats, monkeys (only seen once which I thought was cool) etc. Staff were nice and welcoming. SN: If offered free shopping trip from your travel agencies (air transat, sunwing etc.) do not take it, big waste of time somewhat of a tourist trap if you ask me. I advise just pay the $14 USD for the taxi into Playa Del Carmen. Overall it was subpar and most likely wouldn’t revisit or recommend

I’m just finishing up my week here. And honestly, I’m quite surprised by the bad reviews. Yes the resort is older, however the staff is by far the kindest and polite I have met at a resort. Also it does seem like the staff does really care about upkeep and do their best to promptly fix things. There are reviews making it seem like they didn’t have hot water and the staff didn’t care. This is not the case. Their water heater was broken and was being worked on. A couple days into the trip we had hot water again. The food is pretty good! The only thing I would say is, don’t expect this to be something like moon palace or something similar. It is 4 star resort in my opinion. Purely because of the aging. I would come back! The price seemed very fair to me.

Trip: JetBlue Vacations “all-inclusive” for 3 (Fri–Mon) — $3,050 — Blue Bay Esmeralda, Cancun. Booked because JetBlue advertised all taxes and fees included; at check-in the hotel still charged an environmental fee. The stay itself was worse. Transfers: Over an hour waiting for the arrival shuttle. For departure, they forced a 10:30 a.m. pickup for a 4:00 p.m. flight, refused to adjust it, and we lost most of our last day. Rooms & cleanliness: Room 1: We walked into feces left in the toilet, busted furniture, and a blood-stained pillowcase. The beds had dirt/mud, the bedding was wet, and underneath was a brown-stained, soaked mattress. The ceiling had a wide crack with active leaking, and the walls showed dark water-damage rings that looked like mold. No hot water (staff later acknowledged a resort-wide issue). The phone didn’t work, so we walked ~20 minutes to the lobby to report it. Only after staff saw the mattress did they move us. Day 1 gone to repacking. Room 2: Cleaner, but mud still on the bedding, and no view despite paying for one. Gap: They made us leave Room 2 in the morning and wouldn’t release Room 3 until 3 p.m., leaving us without a room for most of Day 2. Room 3: Somewhat better, but still no hot water. Across all three rooms, no hot water at any point. Food & beverage: Drinks watered down; food poor. Grounds: Wildlife is present, but animal droppings were everywhere and not promptly cleaned. Service: We were bounced between people calling themselves managers; no one owned the problems or fixed them. Bottom line: Between the blood-stained pillowcase, soaked mattress, no hot water, three room changes, and a surprise fee on an “all-inclusive” booking, this was a grotesque, unsanitary, time-wasting stay. Would not return or recommend.

This resort was a disappointment on every level. Our room had terrible hygiene, moldy sealant, a dirty bathroom, oxidized fixtures, and a door lock that barely worked. In building 5000, we had no warm water every single day between 17:00 and 19:00, and reception kept repeating the same empty excuses about “repairs” for ten days straight. The beach and pool bed situation is chaos. With nearly 980 rooms, there are maybe one bed for every ten guests. People reserve beds at sunrise, steal beds from others, and even take towels that must be returned with a towel card. We ended up $60 out of pocket because our towels were taken. The photos online are completely outdated. The number of beds shown is unrealistic, most baldachins are broken, shade fabrics are missing, roofs have lost their thatch, and cracked plaster is visible everywhere. Nothing is maintained. The food is monotonous, plates are often dirty, and drinks are always served in the same plastic cup, even wine at the à-la-carte restaurants. Small improvements could make a huge difference, but the resort doesn’t seem to care. The only positive thing is that the restaurant staff always greeted us with a smile. Still, it often felt like they were working extremely long hours for very little appreciation. At this point, it honestly feels like the hotel is being milked dry until the very last minute before they shut it down. The whole place is just a complete mess.

We had an amazing stay at The Fives Oceanfront! The atmosphere is gorgeous, the rooms are beautiful, and the whole property has such a relaxing, upscale vibe. Our group of 11 traveled together, and every single person loved it. The restaurants were fun and delicious—although only two were open during our stay, so meals felt a bit repetitive by the end. Thankfully, the town right outside the resort is incredible, with tons of great food and things to explore. The absolute stars of our experience were Hair (server), Hugo, Victor the bartender, and Gabriela. They truly made our trip unforgettable with their kindness, energy, and exceptional service. As for booking a large group, it was effortless and completely stress-free, which I really appreciated. Overall, we loved our time here and would absolutely recommend it!

This is our second stay at a Fives property and definitely not our last! We absolutely adore vacationing in Mexico and, at this point, we can’t imagine staying anywhere else. Diego and Candido from the concierge staff absolutely pampered us and took care of every request we could think of—from scheduling massages and meals to making sure our room was exactly the way we wanted it. They make you feel like you are part of the family the minute you check-in. It's truly a masterclass in hospitality! Abraham, Gabby, Sergio, and the entire wait staff are incredibly attentive, kind, and hardworking. It truly is some of the best service you’ll find anywhere. The food is not just amazing “for an all-inclusive” – it’s amazing, period. From Mexican to Caribbean, steak to Italian, they do it all, and they do it beautifully. The drinks are strong and delicious—the best mango margarita around, hands down. The hotel grounds are stunning, and the oceanfront property in particular is exquisitely relaxing. Our room was perfectly appointed, spotless, comfortable, and exactly what we hoped for. We’re already planning our return for Spring Break and a family reunion this summer. We've spent many years visiting different resorts throughout Mexico, and at this point there's no reason to go anywhere else. Do yourself a favor and just book something at any one of the Fives properties!

Location was perfection. Atmosphere of the resort was calm and peaceful yet fun and vibrant. The rooms were beautiful and always clean and stocked. I do believe the value of the hotel and its experiences is consistent with the price. Noise level was not a problem, could always hear the waves at night especially. Service was IMPECCABLE, no notes. Candy and Gabbie rocked. The amenities were also very nice and we used them, the hot tub being our favorite!

From start to end The Fives Oceanfront team were so professional, supportive and made our honeymoon stay one to truly remember. We had the all-inclusive option. The room was spacious, clean and perfect for our stay with a private balcony. The cleaning service is great and can be daily for a change of towels and bedding. The Ro Marley Beach House was the best and served unique breakfast and lunch dishes with a Carribbean twist. The dinner served had a variety of options including Italian style cuisines, a choice of sushi or Ro Marley's Carribbean cuisine. Everything was served fresh to order with a great selection of alcoholic drinks. Many all inclusive hotels I have stayed previously make the mistake of serving food in a buffet style which causes cross contamination and consequently spreads sickness among the stayers. The Fives Oceanfront did this right! A special shout-out to the servers Yoe, Abraham, Gabriel, Hair, Elvis, Luciano, Antonio (and all of them I have failed to mention) for being so attentive when taking food orders and serving drinks and personable with humour and our bad attempts at speaking Spanish. I think it is worth exploring various options for exploring outside of Puerto Morelos. As the town is around 30-40mins south of Cancun. I found it cheaper to source my own taxi service by arranging separately. Also, close to Puerto Morelos town are excursion providers to Chichen-Itza as well as Tulum-Coba, Isla Mujeres and other spots for affordable all-day trips. The hotel does offer excursions and activities for those who prefer in-house service. The hotel is quiet from after 11pm as there is no late night drinks service. This was perfect for us jetlagged travellers to catch up on our sleep. I can only commend The Fives Oceanfront team and staying at this wonderful hotel. Me and my wife have never felt so relaxed and destressed from the hustle and bustle of our city lives. We were provided with such a high quality of customer service during our honeymoon. We recommend for an amazing stay. Bravo team!

The resort is in a great location! Right on the ocean with a beautiful beach and two pools. It was very safe for us to venture off of the resort and explore the neighboring town. The food and drinks were good. And, our butler, Candido was phenomenal! He made dinner reservations for us and had a chairs reserved at the pool or beach every morning in a prime spot for the day! We were definitely come back again!!

Another heart warm experience. Went to dinner to the beach buffet and I was welcome by Isai Dominguez at the pasta station. He don't only worked to cook me a great pasta, but also was covering every details of my needs. Pasta was "al dente" and had the touch that cames when someone cooks with care and dexterity. When I sat, Miguel came to assist me inmediatly offering drinks and also been keeping an eye on my requests. Very happy to felt as a special guest. Thanks

I love comming to Barceló is a fun clean enjoyable place to stay for vacation with friends or couples. The room is spacious hot water clean with beautiful garden views. The staff are all amazing at the buffet for dinner we had saul Lopez and Yaneth mucu that were very helpful and always on top of our foods and drinks. At the pool and beach the entertainment crew were fun and friendly Estrella was helpful . Again barcelo is a great fun place to stay mi cielito pool was tranquil food was good and healthy, the only thing I will say the need to get back to is the shows The first time I came in 2008 it was great almost broadway. But the one that I watch was still google the Mexican and the magic fun. Other than that never a dull moment very fun and clean also pools were very nice and beach was calm and clean

Muy delicioso! México Lindo was our favourite restaurant during our trip. The food was absolutely fantastic. Full of flavour, perfect sized portions and beautiful presentation. Roberto Canul and Clemente Suaste provided us with excellent service, clearing our plates the second we were done and checking in with us many times to make sure we had everything we wanted. Highly recommend eating here, an absolute must!

I dine at the trattoria Italian restaurant on the caribe hotel. The service provided by Jesus Noh was superb. He was always looking that all my needs were fulfilled with a big smile and a warm attention. You will feel very welcome and honored if yo gat Jesus as your waiter. Food was very good, well served. Got a mushroom cream and lasagna and both were at the right temperature and with delicious taste.close with a profiterole as the cherry of the pay. Well recommended place to dinner if you're staying in the Barcelo hotels complex

We just finished an incredible meal at the Trattoria and I had to leave a review. We were a big group — about 20 of us including several kids — and the staff absolutely nailed it. They were friendly, patient, and totally on top of everything, which is HUGE when you’re wrangling a big family group. Our waiters were Daniel & Andres The food was delicious. Everything came out hot, fresh, and super flavourful. The pastas, pizzas, mains… every dish was better than the last. Even the kids loved their meals, which pretty much says it all. The atmosphere was warm, relaxed, and perfect for families. You can tell the whole team genuinely cares about making sure guests have a great experience. Huge thank-you to the Trattoria team for an awesome night. Highly recommended for big groups, families, or anyone wanting a great Italian dinner inside the Barceló. We’ll definitely be back. 🍝🇮🇹

Hi there, This is our 9th time visiting the resort — we absolutely love it! However, there’s one thing that feels a bit strange. We checked in last night, and the music in all the bars has been the same meditation/spa, fall-asleep type for hours. I’m not expecting hard disco or techno, but some nice Café Del Mar or an upbeat lounge mix would be amazing. Thank you for your consideration, we really appreciate it. ---

If you’re looking for a good server, definitely ask for Manuel Jarquin. We had him through this weeks visit and he was absolutely amazing. I just got home from 10 days here and it was awesome! The hotel and grounds were beautiful. We spent a lot of time at the pool, which is also beautiful and well maintained. The activity staff at the pool were great! The food was good, Japanese was a really fun place to go. The steakhouse was also very good. The buffet was good, but got a little old after 10 days. I want to give a special shout out to Fernando, a member of the bell staff. When I arrived on November 16 I was using a walker due to a back injury. Fernando saw me and ran across the lobby to help me. He got me a wheel chair for my stay, came around in a cart and picked us and our luggage up, and drove us to our room and pushed me in with the wheel chair. Fernando was really great and I'm so grateful to him for making my trip easier. Overall a great trip and I will definitely be going back!

We stayed here for a week and it was amazing! I had my doubts with all of the negativity on social media but this resort is family oriented and safe. The location is stunning and there’s plenty to do. The staff were so accommodating and friendly. I would definitely come back and highly recommend! It’s my first time outside of Playa del Carmen, and although I’m not really crazy about big hotels, the experience here was great. The pool and the beach are top-notch, and the grounds are truly beautiful overall. The rooms could use a little update — just small details, but the space itself is huge inside. I really missed having good coffee in the morning, something many other resorts offer. The food was okay, though a bit too creamy and with almost no red meat options. Good, but it could definitely be better. Would I come back? Maybe — it’s a great place for groups, and again, the beach is a huge plus.

Title: Deeply Disappointed – Unsafe Food and No Accountability My fiancé and I stayed at this resort from April 23 to May 6 while attending the Dr. Joe Dispenza seminar. We looked forward to relaxing for a few days afterward, but unfortunately, our experience was ruined by how the hotel handled a serious situation. On our second day, my fiancé bit into a rock hidden in his salad, breaking his tooth in half. We immediately went to the front desk to report it. The staff member called the manager, who seemed nervous and dismissive. She implied that my fiancé was lying and refused to take responsibility. I speak Spanish, so there was no misunderstanding about what had happened. After almost an hour of back-and-forth, the only help she offered was a couple of Advil pills and a form to sign. The next day, when the pain worsened, we insisted on seeing a doctor at the resort. The doctor was professional and confirmed that his tooth was severely damaged, prescribing medication for the remainder of our stay. Before we left, the general manager met with us, apologized, and promised to file a report with their insurance. He said we’d receive follow-up information. It’s now been over five months, and despite multiple emails and WhatsApp messages, we’ve heard nothing back. My fiancé had to pay $1,000 out of pocket to repair his tooth—even with insurance. This resort showed no accountability, no empathy, and no sense of responsibility for what happened on their property. What started as a dream vacation turned into an extremely disappointing experience filled with disrespect, delays, and broken promises. **** As you can see they replied with vague wording. They have not answered the numerous e-mails and messages we sent them. Although they promised to at least support us by sending it to the insurance due to the fact it was the hotels fault. They could have addressed the issue when it happened in a kind a quick way.. I have been there twice for a seminar. Thank goodness the seminar is also given in many other locations. We wont be back.

What a great experience for my first time in Mexico. Our server on our last day Daniel Tibuicio was so amazing. We had great service our entire trip here too.

We stayed at Dreams Sands oct 3 to oct 10. We were soo in love with the beach, just perfect. Calm and super clear water. 20/10. Now our room and hotel areas were very clean 10/10. We were at the preferred beach area and the staff there were just amazing. We got Magaly,Alexander and Ricardo as our servers and they were super friendly and helpful at all times(excellent customer service skills) 11/10. Every one at the hotel waa super friendly and helpful, Laura at the lobby bar was great too and the other lady there as well 10/10. Food was good too, I just wish they had more natural juices and waters available. 8/10. We also had a couples massage, hydrotherapy and facial. We were helped by Sandra, Clarisa and Nicole 10/10. We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel and will definitely be coming back and recommending it to friends and family. :D

Amazing hotel, incredible location and on a beautiful beach. The staff were so friendly, plenty of restaurants to choose from and the food was great. The whole of the communal area is modern and clean. The rooms are slightly dated but still clean and comfortable. All in all this is a great resort and I would definitely return.

To say I was disappointed is such an understatement. Please listen to the reviews saying how bad this hotel is. I wish I had. I thought it was just picky people but clearly it was not. Saying this resort is a 4-5 star is pure fraudulence. It is so old and run down it’s criminal especially for what they are charging. The rooms were beyond FILTHY. The lack of upkeep and deferred maintenance is simply ridiculous. It was GROSS! Management was so unhelpful and simply did not care. They showed me different rooms and each were just as bad as the last. The only positive thing was that they have a great beach. Servers were very nice in pool and beach area but the service at restaurants were extremely slow, even though u were leaving generous tips. The pools were in such bad condition with missing tiles EVERYWHERE. I can see some missing here and there but it was half the pool. Very unsafe. People were getting cut. If you wanted the nice pool you had to upgrade to the preferred side which btw they try and up charge you for once you get there, I was sent emails offering better pricing. We were beyond disappointed. What a waste of my money for my 35th wedding anniversary!!! I booked this resort because I’m a world of Hyatt member and Dreams is under their umbrella. I thought they stood behind their brand but clearly they do not. They did nothing to help but offer to be a liaison. After two hours on the phone with them and hotel management they did nothing. All I got was a 25% discount because I had to pay for the upgraded preferred side so my diabetic husband didn’t get cut in the main pool. We even got the phone line disconnected and no one bothered to even call me back. They said they could do nothing. Why will I ever trust the name Hyatt again???

We stayed in Dreams Sands Cancun last Oct 30- Nov 6,2025. We had a great time. The staff are so friendly, and very accommodating. The food is great and the place is clean . Beef steaks and Salmon were awesome. Claudia is so accommodating, friendly and she makes us feel comfortable. She helped us with our 2 days tour trips. We really enjoyed it . Very nice and welcoming hotel felt like home. Rooms where a little worn due to age but overall pretty and nice view for the price as well. Bartender in the pool named Aurelio amazing drinks served with passion and made just right. Waitress Noe and Jorge very kind honest gave good hospitality and also made my girlfriend a cake and singed the happy birthday song too. They were also very attentive but not too pushy it was just right. Will be coming back.

My wife and I had the most amazing experience having dinner at Sea Olive/Arrezo during our 10 day stay at the Fives beach resort and residences. We had the privilege of having Armenta as our waiter, he was extremely friendly and attentive to us and did everything he could to make our experience memorable. He took the time to chat with us, we could have talked for hours. I had ordered the Tomahawk steak, medium rare, cooked perfectly. My wife had the Fettuccine Alfredo and added the stuffed chicken breast which Almenta was happy to do for her. During our meal Almenta had the Chef come table side to ask how everything was. My wife and I had nothing but high remarks and told him that they take a lot of pride at their profession and it shows in the quality of food and phenomenal service. We had chosen before this evening to end our vacation back at Sea Olive and are hoping to have Armenta as our server to end our vacation to Playa Del Carmen. It was an absolute joy and look forward to another great meal.

I recently stayed at The Fives Beach Hotel & Residences and had such a great experience. Everyone there was super welcoming and always happy, which made the whole place feel full of good energy. The hotel has an app for food and activities, which made everything really easy to book and keep track of. We tried the temazcal and it was 100% worth it. We also had dance lessons with Camilo. He was patient, full of genuine energy, and honestly made us feel really welcome every time we saw him around the resort. We really enjoyed our stay and would def recommend. Great vibes, great staff, and a really relaxing experience.

Casa de Rosa Dinner Experience From start to finish, everything about our visit was amazing. Fatima and Lea were the most wonderful hosts. They were warm, knowledgeable, and so much fun to be around. The liquor tasting was such a unique touch, and learning about the local flavors made the experience even richer. Cooking dinner together was a highlight as the ingredients were fresh, the atmosphere was relaxed and joyful, and the food turned out absolutely delicious. Sitting down afterward to enjoy the meal we had just prepared felt so special. If you’re looking for an authentic, hands-on experience with incredible food and even better company, Casa de Rose is a must. Highly recommend!

Had a great 9 day holiday at The Fives Beach Hotel. The hotel area is spread out wide and has a lot of beautiful green areas including a jungle! I stayed in one of the older buildings and while the rooms were mostly tidy they are dated and definitely need a little cosmetic uplift. The beach was lovely with good service and the wavebreakers helped on wavy days. There are multiple restaurants to choose from. The main buffet restaurant Flavours was ok, but during busy times the service didn't keep up and they kept forgetting and mixing up orders. Almost no warm vegetarian options. The Brasserie was our favorite, calmer with better service. The beach restaurant options were generally good especially the empanadas. The olive restaurant was just ok, smelly inside, average service. We tried the Thai place once and me and another family member got a nasty food poisoning that we reported to the hotel. Overall good value hotel, but doesn't quite reach the 5 stars in my opinion.

I had a wonderful stay at The Fives Hotel and Residences! The property is absolutely beautiful — lush greenery, plenty of wildlife, and a relaxing atmosphere that makes it easy to unwind. We were there celebrating my cousin’s 50th birthday, and the staff made it truly special. We had a private dinner on the beach with David, and it was absolutely exquisite — the setting, food, and service were all perfect. The food was delicious throughout the resort, and the service was outstanding. Special shoutout to Francisco on the beach, who was amazing and so attentive, as well as Miguel and Hermenegildo, who were excellent servers. Antonio in hospitality went above and beyond to make sure everything was smooth and that we had everything we needed — incredibly helpful and accommodating! We stayed in a penthouse suite, which was incredible — a full kitchen, a jacuzzi, and plenty of space. The entertainment and activities were fun and kept things lively throughout our stay. The only downsides were the long wait times at restaurants (it’s first come, first serve, so get there early) and the limited smoking areas, which were too few and too small. Overall, this is a beautiful resort with great food, fantastic service, and unforgettable experiences. We had an amazing time celebrating, and I’d definitely stay here again!

We are loving our stay here, we were here 7 years ago and while most things have improved, I will say the drinks are not as good as they were back then. They used to be more real fruit and juices and now are substituted with powdered mixes on some drinks. The hotel and surrounding areas are amazingly clean, no issues with our room and the food although most of the time it’s cold From sitting out a little too long has always tasted great. The staff are amazing shoutout to Omar at the buffet he is a hard working young man who deserves some recognition! The ladies who carry multiple drinks around the resort are also super friendly and always asking if we’re ok. Definitely recommend this place and as a tip if you’re a decent person who treats others with respect they are often more likely to return the same plus some . Oh and don’t forget to tip even a little it helps them out !

My wife and I visited for 10 days this November. We had previously stayed at the neighbouring TRS Hotel last year and were excited to return to Mexico, this time via a Tui package holiday. We were not expecting a hotel on the same level as the TRS given the price disparity, but overall the Grand Sirenis did not disappoint. We arrived ahead of the transfer bus, so check-in was easy and smooth, and our room was ready upon arrival at around 2:30 p.m. The room (2514) was very clean, aside from a few marks on the fabric headboard which could be removed with a bit of elbow grease. The size was impressive, and the bathroom was spotless. We had a tour of the resort while being driven to our room in a golf cart, of which there are plenty available. However, the resort is completely walkable, so you don’t need to use these at all. We found the buffet food exceptional, with plenty of choice and a breakfast that also caters to the British palate (think baked beans and “normal” hash browns!). We ate at most of the restaurants, except three. Booking via the website link was the easiest way, though often only later slots were available. We don’t mind eating late on holiday, so this wasn’t an issue. All the food at the restaurants was of a high standard, and in many cases the quality was such that we would happily pay for it at home if dining out. We didn’t manage to get a seat at the cocktail bar, which was always packed when we went by. Not to worry though, as there were ample cocktails on offer at the main bars all night. There is a “premium” / “ultimate” club which, as far as we can tell, is some sort of timeshare arrangement that naturally appeals more to U.S. customers. We declined the offer of a breakfast disguised as a sales pitch. From what we can tell, this means better rooms and some extra choices at mealtimes. Perhaps with an eye on the U.S. market again, they also get their own golf carts to transport them around. As expected, and something we also experienced at the TRS, there is a notable change in vibe (and volume) at the weekends when Americans come over for a long weekender. Next time, we would simply book a trip out on the Saturday. We travelled as a couple and didn’t find the presence of children too noticeable, save for a couple of occasions—but as usual, the blame lay with the parents. We would perhaps have liked a few more adult-focused activities, but for us this trip was all about relaxation, of which we found plenty. The only significant negative worth mentioning is that on numerous occasions, while walking alone on the beach, I was offered drugs. There are numerous vendors offering vapes and cigarettes, but it turns out they also offer much more. Given this is a private beach and resort, it’s disappointing that this is openly tolerated by the hotel. We would both strongly recommend this resort to others and, overall, credit goes to the staff who, on the whole, make you feel very welcome.

This was our second stay at the Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya, (July 2023 and October 2025) and honestly, it has become our favorite resort out of all the places we’ve visited. While our first trip was great, our October visit was truly exceptional. The resort felt more relaxed, it wasn’t crowded and there were always plenty of chairs available at both the pools and beach, which made it even more enjoyable. Every staff members we encountered was warm, friendly and eager to help. Whether we had a question or needed anything, they went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect. It’s a level of care that really makes a difference for us. The buffet were good with a wide variety of food options and the a la cart restaurants offered great dining experience - especially the CARNAL. There are plenty of bars throughout the resort, so a refreshing drink is never far away. The smoothie and healthy drinks next to the pool is also amazing - don’t miss out on the juices! The pools and the beach are beautiful, clean and well maintained. We loved the wildlife around the resort - coatis, iguanas, and other animals up close added a special touch to the tropical atmosphere. The daily activities kept things fun and the theater shows at night were entertaining. Overall, Grand Sirenis has given us two wonderful vacations and we’re already looking forward to returning again. Highly recommend this resort!

Cecilio in soprts/entertainment is a brilliant coach, archery and shooting were our favourites, did this activity multiple times. He made it fun and gave good advice. The wildlife spotting is fantastic and the grounds itself are beautiful. Wonderful hotel with wonderful staff, especially Cecilio ❤️

We had such an amazing stay! The staff honestly couldn’t do enough for us – everyone was so friendly and helpful the whole time. Our room was super clean, well-kept, and got a proper tidy-up every single day, which made it feel really fresh and comfortable. We tried a bunch of the restaurants and every meal was great – no bad experiences at all! The food was always tasty and there was plenty of choice. The drinks were just as good. My wife and I stayed here last month for 8 nights. We will definitely be back. The price was very reasonable and some reviews were not great so we arrived expecting something average. I'm pretty high maintenance but we were pleasantly surprised! The staff and service was amazing. The grounds were beautiful (and constantly being groomed). The food was better than expected and plentiful. The drinks were also better than expected. I am impressed that there is a decent selection of nicer liquors included in the complimentary food and beverage. Our room was spacious and very nice. The view from our room was disappointing but we didn't pay for the grand view and we spent most of our time out by the pool and beach anyway. The view from the pool was outstanding. The Wifi worked well at the pool so we worked out there on days that we needed to get some work done. We hardly left the property during our time there. Everything we needed to relax and enjoy was right there. We're already looking at the calendar for when we might be back.

This was our second trip to Royal Hideaway Playacar, and somehow it managed to be even better than our first. Returning felt like coming home — the staff remembered us, greeted us warmly, and made us feel just as welcome and cared for as the very first time. Once again, the service across the resort was outstanding. Every staff member we encountered was professional, friendly, and genuinely dedicated to making our stay perfect. The food continued to impress us — Spices, Las Ventanas, Grill were fantastic again — and the overall atmosphere of the resort remains one of the biggest reasons we came back. A very special shoutout to Alexa and Carlos, who truly elevated our trip. Their energy, kindness, and enthusiasm made each day memorable. Whether it was morning activities, poolside fun, or evening entertainment, they consistently went above and beyond. You can tell they care deeply about the guest experience, and their positive attitude made such a huge difference. We also want to recognize the rest of the entertainment and activities team — including several amazing staff whose names we didn’t catch — for creating an environment where we never felt the need to leave the resort. There was always something enjoyable to do. Pool chair management continued to be excellent, the beach was beautifully maintained with minimal seaweed, and the resort grounds were as stunning and peaceful as ever. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, providing the perfect retreat at the end of each day. Overall, this second visit reaffirmed why Royal Hideaway Playacar has become one of our favorite places. Outstanding staff, amazing food, top-tier diving, and a welcoming environment that makes relaxation feel effortless. We’re already looking forward to our third trip — because once you experience this level of care, it’s hard to imagine going anywhere else.

It was a great experience overall; my husband and I were greeted with a bottle of sparkling wine and some coconut bites. The room wasn’t thoroughly clean when we got there (some purple shampoo in the shower and minor permanent stains in the sheets), but we are not picky, so we let it go. What I really like was that each “villa” had its own concierge: ours was Sucel, a lovely lady who helped us, heard our feedback, and made us feel “taken care of”. Be mindful that the resort is very dated. It’s like “luxury European”. The music choice for the common areas and some restaurants was definitely made for a more senior audience. The beach chairs and beach front view were simply AMAZING: you get a god given view a few steps away from your room; clean sand every morning (well, at least that’s what I’ve noticed every morning), clean chairs, and all chairs have a shade umbrella for extra protection —which my husband appreciated. I would say that the beach service wasn’t that great though: they had one server for all the guests. That wasn’t enough to attend to everyone promptly, I’d say. The pool was ok, but no one told us you have to book the lounge chairs ahead of time. So if you want to chill by the pool, make sure to ask your concierge about it. The restaurants are not 5 stars FOR SURE. Our tops were the Italian restaurant and the one above the breakfast buffet (don’t recall the name. Oddly enough, the Mexican was the worst, followed by the Ventanas (food was not good, and the restaurant has a very weird vibe).

We just left from our 6th stay at Royal Hideaway. I wanted to provide an objective review from the standpoint of someone that’s been frequently. We had a lovely trip, but definitely a few hiccups that leave us wanting to take a break and try somewhere else for a while. The pros: The grounds are beautiful and well kept. The beach is gorgeous and wonderful weather this time of year. The staff truly goes above and beyond to make your trip memorable (shout out to Ricardo and Carlos at the grill, Eduardo at Palazzo, Oscar at Ventanas, Oscar at Spices, Oscar and Axel at Azia, and all the pool guys-Eduardo, Luis, Javier, and Genaro). The service is always wonderful here and is what brings us back each time. The quiet atmosphere is something that we appreciate in comparison to some other larger resorts. The cons: One of the managers, Lorena, is one of the most disrespectful and rude people I have ever had the misfortune of crossing paths with. We had an issue with our rooms air conditioning that was not resolved, and asked to move rooms. The entire interaction with her felt like a game she was trying to win. She was unprofessional and accusatory, combative, and escalated the situation. Quite frankly, working in customer service myself, I have never experienced anything like it, and we almost canceled and moved resorts because of her. We did not feel valued or taken care of, and that’s not a place you want to return to. The other issue this trip was the never ending issue of finding a pool chair. Apparently there are many guests now that are “owners” (timeshare) and they get chairs reserved that now cover over half of the pool area. Our personal belongings were taken and moved after we went in for a few minutes because of the rain, and came back to find that an “owner” had taken our spot. Many “owners” were rude and entitled, and seemed to think it was okay to touch other people’s belongings. It seems management has become disorganized and unhelpful. The rest of the staff is absolutely wonderful, and it’s a shame that management can ruin the reputation of this beautiful hidden gem.

My wife and I booked Royal Hideaway Playacar via Costco as it was on the cheaper end for adults-only all-inclusive resorts, and we agree it was worth every dollar. In summary, everything met if not exceeded our expectations, especially being a more affordable resort. Food is generally good, often even fantastic. The rooms are large, comfortable (AC worked well), noise-insulated, well kept by daily housekeeping, and in good, accessible locations. The resort itself is very tidy with friendly workers all around constantly cleaning, fixing, and offering assistance and services, with a great overall layout and architecture. Pool varieties offer different types of experiences whether for the rowdier or more relaxed vacationers. The beach is unmistakably beautiful and conveniently at the base of the resort with more than enough chairs and shade if needed. It’s a fun but more so relaxing crowd. We will more than likely return to this resort soon, possibly regularly.

This is probably one of the best places to stay in Cancun. Amazing facility, staff was always helpful and friendly, every meal we had was excellent, and the pools were always clean with enough loungers to be able to find one when you wanted to just lay by the pool. Only two cons/negatives: 1. The beach they are located on is not one where you'd want to swim. The water is so shallow that there is alot of brown seaweed that also covers the beach due to tides. It smells like a bay at low tide due to it laying out in the sun. However, the pools are so nice in the resort that you can still enjoy them and not miss the beach. (We actually got a day pass from the resort planners for a trip to another beach in Cancun that didn't have seaweed, so were still able to have a "beach day" on our trip). 2. The second con is the pushy sales people trying to sell their vacation club. I sat thru what was supposed to be 90 minutes which ended up lasting over 2 hours. I got free day passes to their sister facility, "The Moon Palace Grand" but never used them. I stayed at The Moon Palace Sunrise. They then tried again after I checked out and I still had to decline them 5 x's. Other than those two things our trip was amazing.

This is the 3rd time I visited this resort and the quality has gone down. Food at the grand buffet was mostly repetitive. Taco station was always serving pork without any other options. Habibi restaurant took more than an hour for our food to be served. AC in the room was not maintained properly and it had very high humidity. Our balcony door was never open to cause high humidity. The room was dated. Fixtures were broken upon our arrival. It was fixed by maintenance but not correctly. In the ceiling shower there appeared to be mold build up which for some people can cause serious health issues. Upon any guest arrival, They will always try to get you to come to a presentation and we did attend the first 2 visits. This time we said yes but then changed our mind. And they kept harassing us and calling every morning after repeatedly telling them we aren’t interested. Also. Do not buy the vacation pass when they try to sell you at check out. We clearly asked them can the full credit be applied to spa. They said yes. When we checked in. They said only 250 out of 750 can be used at the spa. We were cheated and given false information. They claim to lock in a better rate however, when I booked back in March to reserve the dates, I checked other sites and they were offering the same rate. We just paid an extra $300 for the certificate for the resort credit we didn’t use and the one way airport shuttle that also had some fine print that we couldn’t use. I would not recommend this resort to anyone for the price you pay, there are a lot better options out there.

We stayed at the Nizuc section as that’s what the wedding party reserved. We were there for an Indian wedding, and we were super disappointed with the food selection and the way everything was organized. The same Indian food was served on three different occasions! We had a black tie affair evening where we had buffet style dinner, everyone in nice dresses, and had to serve my own curry sauce! The wedding planners had no backup plan in case of rain, we were rained out of one event to the point where DJ had to stop playing music, and dinner wasn’t served!!!! Nizuc rooms are really outdated, it was pretty uncomfortable with an infant. We booked a king size bed, we had to twin beds that were super soft, we had a stroller with us so we choose ground floor because the buildings don’t have elevators!!! They wanted to book us on the second floor, we made the reservation with the baby on the reservation. I’m not what how many parents want to drag a stroller and baby when dressed up for a wedding. We also found a cockroach one night in the room, it might’ve been from the rain and it came outside because the door has a crack so anything can come into the room from outside. There is no way to connect to Netflix! Our beach towels had holes in them! If you have to go, choose Sunrise as it has better swimming pool, and food options! Or Grand! You can’t really use your resorts credits for anything! We were promised $500 in credits but can’t really uses for services around the resort! You cannot use your credits to book services in the spa, really disappointed since after a wedding it’s what everyone is looking for, out of our wedding party If you need to change your reservation for the shuttle to the airport, they charge for the change even tho Moon Palace has their own shuttles! We were told by the wedding planner that shuttle is free since we are staying over four nights, but that’s not true if you need to make changes! As a friend put it, at its best a 3 star resort!!!!! The resort just allows too many weddings, and people where it just stays very mediocre! And very little is spent on upgrades or remodeling! One star is given to the coffee shop on site! The second star is for the play pen which doubles as the sleeper that was provided for the baby

My wife and I traveled with a group of 14 friends and support workers to accommodate our physical disabilities. Upon arrival, the check-in process took longer than expected, and we were initially provided keys to a room that was described as wheelchair accessible. After reaching the room, we discovered it was not accessible and was located in the wrong area of the resort. This required us to return to the front desk, where we were then given the correct room keys. The accessible room we were assigned afterward was fortunately much closer to the lobby, which was a helpful convenience. Clearer communication from the front desk regarding room locations and accessibility details would have greatly improved our arrival experience. On a positive note, we found the waiter service to be very good—attentive, friendly, and consistent throughout our stay. However, we did notice that the housekeeping team would benefit from stronger communication with guests, especially regarding expectations or timing of service, which would help avoid confusion. Overall, we appreciated many aspects of the resort, and we hope these communication improvements can be considered for future guests.

This is a huge resort. It is very picturesque and pleasing to the eye. Initial impression was enticing and provoked curiosity. My favorite experiences were the karaoke room, the spa and the adult pool. This resort has a lot to offer. Several restaurants, a water splash park, fitness activities. You name it. However too many times too often I felt like I was at a bus station or an airport. There were long lines for food, ill proper buffet manners, tons of children some without adults and heavy foot traffic in between places. This had to be my least favorite part. That and The mosquitos. Just a few too many of those as well. Our room had an outside terrace but it was full of mosquitos, many got in our room and visited during shower time. Not fun at all. Apparently it was rain season but they definitely went to work on our skin. Itching after vacation is pretty miserable. They will try to sell you many things on this resort as well. Even after I checked out a saleswoman ran up to me attempting to “share an opportunity of a lifetime”. So gouging for money is at an all time high. Overall I had a good time with my friends and family but I don’t see myself returning. This trip lacked a cultural connection to the destination and with so many things you’re paying for, leaving the resort barely makes sense. I also just wasn’t a fan of the amount of people. All inclusive does not mean exclusive. So keep that in mind.

We just got back from our trip and had the most amazing time! If you're looking to party and have a blast, this is the place. We stayed over Halloween, and it was the best time—it felt like spring break for adults, and the energy was perfect. A huge, huge shout-out to our butler, Azul. She was an absolute rockstar! From the moment we arrived, she took care of everything. She helped us get all our dinner reservations, booked our massages, and kept us up-to-date with all the activities and events happening at the resort. We honestly wouldn't have had such a smooth and fantastic stay without her. She's the best! We also tried the Sushi Bar for the first time, and it was fantastic. It was the perfect snack to have while we were drinking at the pool all day. We would 100% recommend this resort to anyone looking for a fun, high-energy vacation. We're already planning our next trip back!

Many respects to the staff and entertainment team at this resort. The shows and parties were immaculate. Service was on point and food was excellent. We went to the newly added She Club, which merged dinner and a sensual show. This was an highlighted moment of our vacation. We were there for my birthday and Marta, Marco and Freyda made every moment memorable and delightful. 10 out of 10 for Temptation Resort. Immaculate time spent. I highly recommend this experience for any couple celebrating or just for a special moment in an individual’s life.

If you’re looking for a resort in Cancun that’s different from the typical 08/15 options – a place to have fun and enjoy an amazing time – then this is the right spot for you. Our trip was so much fun! It's a great place to let your hair down and party! Mario and Marianna were our butlers and their service was absolutely wonderful! They set up all of our dinner reservations, our Bali bed at the pool, our massages, our private table at the bash nightclub with a bottle of tequila and all the mixers. We didn't have to worry about anything! 5 star service!

Exceptional Service in an Adults Only Playground! And they leave no guests behind! I was in a business travel and I was surprised on my way there when my group chose this hotel as our week HQ. Everyone was accommodating since our 1:30 am check in even when we were not part of the party crowd and for me that makes a difference because service is KING everywhere. Amazing food from the morning buffet to the different dining options available at site. Beds and pillows are very comfortable and yes it can be noisy at night but you have to understand that this is a hotel for party. Isolated rooms are available if you are noise sensitive and ear plugs available at your room. I was very impressed that their staff was working since early morning to keep everything clean, thumbs up for the dedication to it. As someone who was not in party mode (this time) I used the gym the most (super clean, all equipment in perfect conditions), the coffee shop was a big thing for me opening at 6 am until 10 pm. On my last day I scheduled myself a hydrotherapy circuit at the spa after training which was AMAZING. Went back to my room to get room service when the big party was going on outside and the hotel surprisingly spoiled me with some wine to wrap up my business week with them after spa. For party I can assure you it’s a fun wild place with all kinds of fun and entertainment on nightly basis that you don’t want to miss but if you happen to be in not such a party mode they will take care of you as well :)

Worst dining experience we've ever had at an all-inclusive resort. The Good: The room was pretty good, the resort and pool area were nice, and the shows were enjoyable. The Problem - Dining: Night 1 - Asian Restaurant: Service was mediocre. We had to flag down our waiter multiple times for drinks and water, and food took forever to arrive. The food quality was decent, at least. Day 2 - Lunch at Rosewater: The only restaurant with consistently good service throughout our stay. Food came out quickly. Day 2 - Pool Service: Always great staff, but food orders took approximately 90 minutes to arrive every single day. Night 2 - Italian Restaurant: Our waiter was nowhere to be found. We couldn't get wine refills or even a single water refill. I got up multiple times to search for our waiter and request help from other staff members. The food was fine, but the service was subpar. Night 2 - Room Service: The late-night menu was very disappointing with no Mexican food options. Our order arrived 45 minutes later than expected and was not good. Day 3 - Breakfast at Rosewater: The kitchen was backed up badly. Food took an hour from ordering to arrival, though service was acceptable. Night 3 - Mexican Restaurant: We arrived at 7:30 for a table of six and were told there would be a 50-minute wait. We returned at 8:20 and were told another 15 minutes, then another 10 minutes. At 8:45, we were finally seated—at a 4-person booth meant for 6 people. We were cramped and sweating in the corner. I had to get up and argue with staff to move us to one of the several available 6-8 person tables. Once moved, it took an extreme amount of time to get our food, and we struggled to get drink and water refills. The food was not worth any of the hassle. One Bright Spot - The Buffet: The buffet was fine, and drink/water service there was actually fast. Day 4 - Pizza Place by the Ocean: It took over 45 minutes to get a personal pizza. Other guests would walk up, skip the line, and grab pizzas waiting at the counter for delivery. We went offsite for dinner that night at Harry's (highly recommend). Bottom Line: This was probably the worst dining experience at any resort I've ever visited.

First time ever going on a down-south vacation, and I can honestly say Secrets Riviera Cancun completely spoiled us! I was nervous before the trip, but from the moment we arrived, everyone was so welcoming and kind. Our room was beautiful, spacious, and had an amazing ocean view. I’m a super picky eater, but the food was incredible at every restaurant. The catch of the day at Rosewater was hands down my favorite meal. We loved being able to pop over to the Xhale side for the lively party pool and then come back to the peaceful Secrets side to relax. The nightly entertainment was amazing (the Neon On show was unreal!), and we had so much fun joining activities like paint and sip, karaoke, and the silent disco. Mani and Erik were awesome—so friendly and made us feel comfortable getting involved. Huge shoutout to Urbano and Cruize for keeping the drinks flowing and the laughs coming by the pool. But the real MVPs of the trip were Andres and Louis from the entertainment team. They brought the best energy, made everyone feel included, and somehow got us into a pool dance competition (and we actually had fun doing it!). They made the trip unforgettable. We left feeling like we were saying goodbye to friends. I’d come back in a heartbeat and recommend Secrets Riviera Cancun to anyone—it’s truly something special.

Honest Review of Our Stay at Secrets Riviera Cancun Resort & Spa – Preferred Club September 11–20, 2025 This was our first experience at a Secrets resort in Mexico. Secrets Riviera Cancun is located about 25 minutes from the Cancun airport. The resort itself has more of a boutique feel compared to some of the larger, grander properties we’ve stayed at in the past. Staying on the Secrets side gives you full access to the Breathless side of the resort. The food was the best we’ve experienced at any all-inclusive resort so far. If you’re staying on the secrets side, the Rosewater restaurant will likely become your favorite dining spot. Out of the à la carte restaurants, the Italian and steakhouse restaurants were our favorites. They had great entertainment with daily activities and nightly shows. The staff at this resort were awesome and definitely helped make our experience enjoyable and memorable. A few special shoutouts: Rosewater Restaurant: Yesenia, Jose, and Lino Activities Staff: Angel, Luis, and Erik Pool Service: Charlie Boy Bartenders: Eduardo (Preferred Club Lounge) and Fernando (Energy Pool) Note for beach lovers: If your main priority is a wide, walkable beach or swimming in the ocean, this resort may not be the perfect fit. The focus here is more on the pools, service, food, entertainment, and intimate vibe rather than a long sandy shoreline. Overall, Secrets Riviera Cancun delivered a wonderful blend of relaxation, excellent dining, great entertainment, and outstanding hospitality.

Spent 5 days at this resort Oct 8-12. Food was great at the Rosewater restaurant. Room service food was just ok. Swim-out room tropical view was nice to have but not super private. There was a main walkway right along the edge of the pool so everyone walked past, but the room itself was really nice and comfortable. Staff was fantastic - Pedro in entertainment, Urbano, Daniel, and David by the pool, Ana Maria in housekeeping. You can visit the Breathless side of the resort for the restaurants and nightly entertainment, but we found it very party focused. No 'in-between' spots to hangout in the evenings - it was either party or sit in the quiet. Would be nice to have a space to sit, drink, chat with new friends that had a casual vibe (Rosewater in the evenings was too quiet for us). Food was good at the Grill, but the buffet was mediocre. Beach was disappointing.

We came to this secrets for a wedding. We had stayed at the Secrets on playa Mujeres and it was the worst experience we have ever had. So when we saw our friends booked their wedding at a Secrets we were apprehensive about attending. We'll i can say that we were pleasantly surprised. What a great stay. The room, swim up was amazing, the food at Rosewood fantastic. This was over all a really great trip. I would book this resort again. A special shout out to Danial and William and Papi. And especially to Eduardo at the desk he was so kind and helpful when our flight got super delayed. We cant thank him enough.

The staff here are amazing, thank you everyone for being so kind and polite, reliable, quick, and excellent energy. I loved the animals that live near the property, including the coatí they love pizza, the beach dog, the woodpeckers, the spiny tailed lizards (Rafa, Venus, and more), a blind black cat (so sweet) and geckos. I loved the food at the different restaurants, I was not able to visit every single one in the time I stayed there, but I greatly enjoyed the dinner shows at the pyramid, the lobster house, the breakfast buffet, and the French restaurant was phenomenal. I appreciated the private shuttle to and from. The bellhops and room service was excellent. Room service wait time is to be expected (especially after the evening shows conclude and people want late night snacks) however I had the best Salmon I've ever had by room service thank you so very much. The morning room service with egg dishes were also delicious and worth trying. I wish the American guests were less noisy, less territorial over the lazy river beds, or less obnoxious, but that's to be expected and that's definitely not the resorts' fault. The beach is beautiful and there are plenty of shaded beds, and hammocks to sun on, and you can see downtown Cancun. Thank you for an amazing time I never left the resort.

Let me begin by saying that we were not originally going there but due to the Jamaica hurricane we had to pivot 4 days before our trip began. The staff was incredibly accommodating and took care of us as soon as we reached out. The grounds are great because even when the hotel is pretty full there is still plenty of space at the beach and pool without feeling crowded. Cleanliness is outstanding and the service is by far the best I have experienced in an all inclusive. The food is amazing, plenty of options and really good quality. I will say if you like things more heavily seasoned you might have to ask for extra seasoning when you order. The area to swim in the ocean is a bit smaller than expected and sometimes depending on weather might have some seaweed. Although they do a great job at removing it often so it’s not unpleasant. I will say this resort is towards the south so the beaches do look different from the northern regions. Still amazing just something to keep in mind. As I mentioned before service was a amazing throughout but I do want to highlight some of the staff that made this trip exceptional: Gerardo: We attended a hibachi dinner and he was very funny and made the whole experience enjoyable Lesli: Was our hostess at lobster house, kitchen table and oregano. Always greeted us with a smile and gave us great recommendations for some afternoon snacks. Maricruz: She was our waiter for the mexico night and we chatted with her when we went to Basmati. Couldn’t have been more attentive and kind. Always making sure we were enjoying our experience to the maximum. Matilde: He was our beach waiter the whole trip. Honestly the best beach service I have ever had in an all inclusive. Great service and fantastic charisma. We couldn’t thank him enough for making this trip so fantastic. Mateo: He was at the omelette station for most of our breakfasts and oh my god!! The best omelettes ever!! Amazing charisma and service always with a warm smile! Maria: For our last night at the Grill was amazing for our anniversary dinner. She was very attentive, warm and also gave us a beautiful dessert surprise! She is amazing Overall the staff was incredibly warm, welcoming and kind. We felt like they were happy that we were there and that we were enjoying our time. Very grateful for all their work and great personalities

Just got back yesterday from spending a week here with my two best friends to celebrate our birthdays. This was my third time at this resort and it never disappoints. The grounds are beautiful and it never feels overcrowded. That said, if there is a certain spot you want to lounge by the pool or beach then you'll want to reserve it early with towels. I liked getting up for the sunrise and reserved my spot after that so it was never a problem. My friends and I enjoyed lounging at the main pool area for most of the day (music and a little more action but still relaxing), and then in the afternoon we'd take a couple laps around the lazy river, which is very quiet and serene. There are a lot of restaurant options, and for an all-inclusive resort I found the food to be more than adequate. For dinner, we liked starting at Flavor Market for tapas before moving onto another restaurant for our main course. Chez Isabelle was my favorite for food. Night life is okay but it's just nice they have something going on each night and it doesn't go too late. I thought the rooms were nice, maybe a bit dated since they looked the same as my first trip back in 2018, but they're very clean, spacious, and lots storage and counter space. I've done Excellence Club twice and once without EC. Honestly, I don't think it's worth the extra money but it depends on your preferences. I preferred the main pool and beach area to the EC areas, and I didn't drink in my room so I didn't care about the upgraded liquor. Since there are so many restaurants available I also didn't care if I ate at the EC only restaurant or not. I only ended up upgrading to EC for this trip when an ocean view room became available for almost the same price as my current room, and I decided it was worth it to have a better view. One of my friends got a non-EC rooftop room and that was awesome. I'd probably get that room if I go again. I love the service here. The staff are great. Super friendly and attentive. Special shout-out to Pablo at Prelude who made the evenings at the bar more entertaining. Another special shout-out to Edson, who was my absolute favorite person there. He was our poolside server and he was out-of-this-world fantastic. We never needed to worry about our drinks getting low or going hungry - he always knew right when to show up to take our order. It felt like an elevated level of service and it was a sad day for us when he had a day off! I loved our conversations and if I go here again I would make a point to seek out his section, he was that good. My only complaint is our stay was so incredible that it just made it that much harder leaving knowing a cold Minnesota was awaiting my return!

Nice hotel and friendly staff, have come to expect this from excellence hotels and this was no different. Only here for a week but was a nice relaxing stay and was great to get away. Loads of great staff here and all very friendly and happy to help. Lots of choice for restaurants with a few that stand out above them all. Basmati Indian restaurant was great, food was spot on and flavour in every dish. Chicken was so tender that it just fell apart. Spice, Asian restaurant was by far the stand out from them all though. Great menu, loads of choice and the staff were fantastic, special shout out to Fernando who was brilliant. We travel home tomorrow and once home will start planning our next trip to another excellence hotel.

This was our first time at an Excellence resort and also our first time in Mexico, and I can comfortably say we were very happy with our trip! Some of the most notable things is that the food is delicious no matter where you eat, and the resort is small enough that you are just a short walk away from one of the pools, the beach, or the restaurants. The thing that sticks out most to me is just how kind and friendly every staff member is! From bartenders, to servers, to the entertainment crew - everyone is polite and charming and happy to help. Some workers that really made our trip are Arely, the poolside server; Diana, Max, Eliseo, and Angelo from the entertainment team; restaurant servers David, Roberto, and Lulu; and the hibachi chef, Benjamin! If you never plan to leave the resort, you will have everything you need! However, I gave 4 stars for Location because the resort is a bit far away from excursion sites such as Chichen Itza (~3 hours) and Tulum (~1-2 hours). But other than that, we had a great stay and would definitely come back.
