I have been to this property 18 times and for years avoided the Mexico Lindo restaurant. Now I know that I have been missing out! The atmosphere is my favorite on the entire property, absolutely beautiful! Javier Muñoz is the manager and he has prepared his staff with excellence! Linsey the hostess was kind, professional, and a true delight. Best Mango margaritas and sueros made by the bartender! And our server Salvador and Miguel were on point with the absolute best service! I plan to come here again before we depart because it was a wonderful evening!! Here is a pic of Salvador and Miguel with my beautiful friends.

We were at maya beach buffet and had Guillermo Hernandez who was the best service you could ask for. So friendly, super quick. The food was delicious and we had such a great week. Was happy to see Guillermos face welcoming us as we entered for breakfast and lunch! Highly recommend you find Guillermo and sit in his sections everyday!! Amazing 10/10

We just finished an unbelievable week at Barcelo! we went with a party of 12 at the Beach Resort. We had ages 4-60, so much to do. Kids Club for the littles, the gym with yoga and workouts, the spa and hydrotherapy. We had fun with Dana and Fany in the water, they taught a great aerobics class in the water...lots of fun!
Judith was a great waitress in the buffet, she was super helpful.

Ivan Uh and Carmen Ramirez were amazing servers for all our breakfasts. We came with a family of 4 (1 yr old, 4 yr old) and they both were attentive and friendly. They were interested in our kids names and what food they liked…and most importantly were interested in providing us parents with sufficient caffeine. Wonderful people and would recommend in a second

We are longtime Barcelo customers and Barcelo Club members who invested in points based on written representations of priority service, upgrades when available, and attentive member support. Our most recent stay reflects a continued and systemic failure to meet those obligations.
We held a confirmed suite reservation at the Barcelo Caribe, which was unilaterally changed without advance notice to a different hotel within the resort and to a lower-quality room and inferior view. This directly contradicts the Barcelo Club agreement regarding complimentary upgrades and strongly suggests overbooking practices that favor higher-paying reservations over existing members.
All reservations and requests were made months in advance, including specific bedding requirements for queen beds due to traveling with adult children. These requests were ignored, and no reasonable accommodation was offered.
Barcelo Club support is ineffective and lacks accountability. Communication is slow, fragmented, and email-only. Despite being told the club would contact us during our stay, no outreach occurred. There was no welcome, no follow-up, and no resolution support.
When we requested to speak with the resort manager, we were informed the manager was unavailable (“out at lunch”), with no escalation option and no follow-up. This reflects a serious breakdown in guest-service oversight.
Additionally, the overall quality of the resort has declined substantially: poor Wi-Fi, uncomfortable mattresses, substandard food, disengaged staff, and low-quality entertainment.
After four consecutive years of declining experiences, we have lost confidence in both the Barcelo Club program and the resort’s management. We would rather forfeit remaining points than return.
We do not recommend this resort to families or members seeking reliability, transparency, or value.
