Great location, shuttle buses to the parks are great. The only downside is that there isn't enough storage space. I take travel coat hangers. We get a room that could potentially sleep 6 and there is no way that there would be enough space for everyone's clothes. The food in the cafe is lovely. Staff are always friendly and welcoming. Overall I woukd recommend. We've stayed 3 times.

Great lower budget option with Universal resort perks. The staff was outstanding and very helpful. We used the shuttles to the parks, a great convenience. We stayed in a suite that sleeps 6, but that would be really tight. Three people in our room was comfortable. Note that the refillable cups used in the parks are not eligible at the resort, which is really odd and off-putting. Breakfast starts at 7, which is too late for the early park hours. You'll be getting in the shuttle line at that time. Overall, it's a great place to stay. The staff is a huge plus for this resort.

Surfside is a beautiful clean hotel. The rooms has 3 queen beds. They were comfortable. We all slept well. There was. I outside noise. The pool is huge and a great temperature.
The shuttle buses to the theme parks were plentiful and it was maybe a 10 min ride. The restaurant in the hotel had plenty of breakfast and dinner choices. A huge plus is they are opened very late in the evening and very early in the morning. We utilized the restaurant everyday. There’s a Starbucks as well.
I highly recommend this hotel

A fantastic hotel. Our suite was spacious, clean and modern, with great views overlooking idrive and the dockside pool. Reception staff were friendly and welcoming upon check in.
Resort buses ran regularly. We were never waiting for long.
The food court had plenty of options. Breakfast wasnt great value, but dinner was much better.
The walls are thin, so any noise in the corrider was heard inside the main living area. This only caused us issues one night during our 11 night stay.
We would definitely return.
We did have an issue with the Avis car rental located inside the hotel. They scammed me with approx $20 of unwarranted charges upon returning the car. Not directly the hotels fault, but seeing as the rental is on their property I wanted to note it to warn others.

hotel is clean, rooms are clean and housekeeping did a great job. I always read Costco reviews and google reviews and enough were positive that I discounted the concerns about the room noise. It is pretty bad. We have an app on my phone for a sound machine but the noise from other rooms and the street is really loud (we were on the 8th floor). also the prepared foods in the restaurant are TERRIBLE, old, funky, not good. cooked food was ok (MTO) but nothing to write home about. the Mexican restaurant next to Walgreens is reasonably priced and great. we dined in one night and got take out the other after parks.
shuttle was easy and solid- make sure you get on the 7am shuttle for epic as you want to be in line at park if you don't have fast passes. we waited 4 hours for ministry of magic. older kids went straight to star dust racers and hardly waited 15 min. Bring some snacks for waiting in lines but dig and enjoy some butter beer and other foods too. We ate and mythos - worth it. included pic of Starbucks menu (where we ate lunch each morning, no order ahead unfortunately - have to wait in line...) and a pic of pool- has a lifeguard and toys for kids to use. wouldn't call it a resort, more of a like very equipped hotel. GYM is nice.
