Stayed at Hilton DoubleTree for EDC Orlando. The hotel is a bit dated but the front desk staff were really helpful. They gave us cookies when we asked and they were warmed up, which was a nice touch.
The room was clean with comfy beds, clean sheets and towels, and two free water bottles. The AC was broken though and stayed at 54 degrees no matter what we set it to, so it was freezing to sleep all four nights.
They advertise a Starbucks on site but it’s been closed for a couple of months. There’s an ice cream parlor, a restaurant, and a café in the courtyard. Breakfast isn’t included and parking was $33 plus tax per night.
The location is good, close to Universal and plenty of food options. For EDC, it was a quick walk to the Orange Shuttle stop.

Outstanding location – literally a 10-15 min walk to Universal Studios. Parked once, paid only the hotel’s nightly parking and forgot about the car for 3 days. Saved a fortune vs Universal’s daily rates.
Warm cookie at check-in & check-out with friendly staff, clean and comfy rooms with good AC, fridge, and free Wi-Fi. Beds are solid, room is not 5 star – fine for a theme-park hotel, not luxury.
Nice onsite amenities.
If your priority is being steps from the parks without resort prices, this place is a no-brainer. Would stay again in a heartbeat.

If I could give a 0 I would. This hotel is ancient and it hasn't been kept up well at all.
Dents in the wall, peeling wall paper, decorative glass pieces with 50% of them broken.
The check-in took forever. Then I got to the room with the No Smoking sign and I can smell the room without the sign is smoking even though it's supposed to all be non smoking. It's late so I try and call the front desk and the phone doesn't seem to work. I get ready for bed and the toilet breaks and I have to shut the water off. I decide to wait till morning to deal with it given that I'm also not sure what's wrong with the phone.
6:30 I figure out the issue with the phone the line is fraying out of the connector so you have to hold it to hear anything. I call to see if someone can fix the toilet because people are going to need to use it when they're getting up we are told someone will be up in 15 minutes. 30 minutes later I call back and it's clear no one has anything and she asked to describe what the problem is. She then says she will call back. Of course no one called back. Call again and we're told maintenance doesn't come in until after 8am.
Ok so take a shower and while it's all old and not that nice at least they have big bottles of shampoo, conditioner and body wash. They're only great if they have product in them which ours didn't. Also no hair dryer.
Finally 8:30 maintenance comes and replaces the entire innerds of the toilet so at least that now works. The only thing about this hotel that wasn't broken was it's location to universal studios. No side walk from the hotel entrance to the ramp over the road last step planning fail.
STAY AWARE ELSE!!

We often stay at this property due to the clean spacious rooms, and convenient location, and I never have had a bad stay. This past stay was absolutely above and beyond, and I just have to mention how kind, bubbly and over the top Diamond at the front desk was. We arrived early after chaos with our flights, she was able to check us in early which we were SO grateful for, but on top of that she made great conversation and was so sweet and friendly every time we past her in the lobby. Loved seeing her each morning, and cannot say enough great things about this property!

We just had an awesome stay in the Double Tree!
Perfect modern, big and clean room with a view directly onto the entrance of the Universal Studios. We had a fast and easy Check-In experience and the staff was very friendly. The Hotel is perfectly located right at the entrance of the Studios. Parking was included in the room price.
