We’ve just returned from livvo koala, Long read but here’s my review.
The hotel rooms were lovely, spacious, and very well equipped. Our apartment-style accommodation had a separate living room and bedroom, both with their own TVs, plus a balcony. The bathroom was excellent, with a separate shower and bath, and I particularly liked that the hotel used refillable hand soap and shower gel dispensers rather than single-use plastics.
The food throughout our stay was very good with plenty of variety. The main restaurant offered freshly made pizzas, Spanish dishes, a great salad bar, soups, and a good selection of desserts. The snack bar was also excellent, serving hot dogs, burgers, pizza, and salads throughout the day.
The pool bar was one of the highlights. It offered all the favourite fizzy drinks, a slushy machine, coffee machine, and water dispenser, all available on a self-service basis. The bartender was fantastic, and the all-inclusive package included cider, beer, wine, and cocktails. There were also snacks available during the day, including nachos and pastries, with peanuts served in the evening.
The entertainment team truly made the holiday special. During the day they regularly walked around inviting guests to join in activities, creating a fun and friendly atmosphere. There was something for everyone, from relaxed games such as bingo and dice games to more active options including darts, archery, bowls, and bowling. Everyone was encouraged to join in, regardless of age or ability.
Evening entertainment was equally impressive, with a mini disco for children followed by professional shows in a lovely open-air setting. The entertainment team were outstanding throughout our stay and worked incredibly hard to keep everyone entertained.
The hotel itself is spread across different zones, each with its own pool area. There were plenty of sunbeds available and lots of space, so it never felt overcrowded.
The location was also ideal for exploring. We visited the water park using the hotel’s free bus service and took a taxi back for under €10. We also visited the beach by bus and again returned by taxi for less than €10. On Saturday, we enjoyed visiting the market in Playa del Inglés, which had a great atmosphere and plenty of stalls to browse. A return taxi journey cost less than €20.

Excellent stay at Koala Gardens.
Rooms were modern and spotlessly clean (we observed cleaning staff take apart lights to dust inside & lightbulbs!)
Bathrooms have modern newly fitted fixtures.
Good range of food.
The Italian restaurant is Excellent and great service at all.
Help yourself soft drinks/coffee
Friendly bar staff with good range of alcoholic drinks.
Easy check in with room available early.
Can't find fault with any aspect of hotel - would stay here again.

Don't let first impressions fool you – a surprisingly great stay!
When I first walked into our room, I’ll be honest: I was highly doubtful. I was greeted by a faint smell of sewage and a cockroach, and I immediately feared this was going to be a "holiday from hell."
However, I couldn't have been more wrong.
By the next morning, the experience completely shifted. The staff were incredibly helpful and went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable. What started as a poor first impression turned into a really lovely holiday.
The Highlights:
Cleanliness: Despite my initial worry, the resort is kept very clean.
The Pools: The pool areas are spotless and, most importantly, the water is actually warm—not freezing cold like many other resorts!
Food & Drink: As a picky eater, I was worried, but the food was very nice. I never had a day where I couldn't find something delicious to eat.
Pro Tip: I highly recommend buying a drinks holder (like the ones from Shein) for the all-inclusive drinks—it’s a game changer!
Entertainment: A big "well done" to the entertainment staff. They worked so hard and really added to the atmosphere.
Final Verdict:
Don't listen to all the negative reviews; I found that most of them didn't reflect the reality of the stay at all. I would highly recommend this place and would definitely go back.

We thought it was ok. Lots of other Brits. There were some other nationalities. We had room only so we were in an adjacent complex to the main area. No problem with that really. The restaurant/cafe on our site was below expectations for us at least. It is privately operated. Swimming pools were very clean and well used. The weather was great for Christmas. We were glad we hired a car. The island was great and the 2000metre volcano was a fantastic drive out. At least if you can drive. The kitchenette was ok in the room kettle, 2 ring induction hob and microwave with a few assorted pans and some cutlery. A coffee percolator didn't seem to work and that was quickly replaced. I would recommend it but just don't pay over the odds for a room only.

For the price we paid this is a really decent hotel, there’s a few minor issues but mostly a decent hotel especially if you’re on a budget.
Service and entertainment: the staff are all very friendly, especially the entertainment team and reception staff. Shout out to Martina- she was great. Evening entertainment was good fun and the entertainment team really try their hardest to make it an enjoyable evening cor everyone.
Restaurant and bar: the food was ‘okay’, wasn’t very varied and was mostly the same every night. The bar wasn’t great, cocktails were pretty disgusting and the spirits are very cheap unfortunately. Amstel is the main beer and proper branded soft drinks are served (coca cola etc)
Rooms: very clean, beds seem to roll around as they’re on wheels which is very annoying.
Pool area: pools clean, sun beds are very uncomfortable as the fabric has worn on most of them so the metal framing penetrates into your back. The pool area gets sun all day.
Overall this is a decent hotel for the price we paid. Would recommend especially if you’re with children as there’s lots to do for them.
