Hotel overall was very nice. Lots of sunbeds, although you might have to spend a little while finding one at peak time.
Food in general was good. Maybe the meat quality could be better.
Rooms were nice and large, ac kept the room around 22-24c.
Location is a little far from the beach but they do have a free bus to the beach which we used a lot. Make sure to get to the bus stop 5 mins early as I noticed the bus might be early and it won't wait until the exact time.
Very good price. Would come again.

I travelled to Maspalomas because of the cycling camp, that is why the location near the sea wasn´t my top priority and therefore it doesn´t affect my rating. The location is calm and, I think, almost all rooms are heading towards the pool or calmer street. The hotel is isolated from the main road, which had worried me before my stay. I also appreciate that the staff met our request to be placed on the higher floor, because we are light sleepers and because we were worried about the noise from the pool area. The family room was spacious, clean and modern. There is nothing to complain about. What we definitely enjoyed the most, was the exceptionaly great food. If you are looking great value/price ratio, go for this hotel. I would like point out not just the variety, but especially deliciousness. The staff was also kind and friendly. We had an issue with inactive electricity card, they fixed it up immediately. There is just one setback. If I would stay here alone, the price is almost the same as in couple. The pricing politics for singles could be more favourable.

We had an absolutely fantastic family holiday at the Barceló Margaritas in Gran Canaria!
The hotel is spotlessly clean, with rooms and common areas maintained to a very high standard every day. The food was excellent a wide variety of fresh, delicious options that made every meal enjoyable.
What really makes this hotel stand out is how family friendly it is. There are plenty of activities for children, a great playground, and multiple swimming pools where both kids and adults can relax and have fun. The entertainment and atmosphere make it a perfect place for families.
The staff were friendly, helpful, and always ready to make our stay even better. Overall, this hotel offers amazing value, comfort, and a great holiday experience.
Highly recommended we will definitely come back!

Had an amazing stay at the Barceló Margaritas. The hotel is lovely, the staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the rooms are absolutely massive with plenty of space. The food was amazing throughout our stay, with lots of choice and great quality.
There are two great pools with bars nearby, making it perfect for relaxing during the day. The location is also ideal, with decent nightlife and the beach close by.
Highly recommend this hotel and resort to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable holiday in Gran Canaria.

First of all, I’m referring to Barceló Margaritas, not the Royal section.
The room felt outdated. The door was very thin, so you could easily hear noise from the corridor—even someone coughing. The beds were not comfortable, and there was a mattress protector with a plastic layer inside, which was quite disturbing.
There were also black scratch-like marks in the toilet, which made it feel unclean. My towel had stains on it. Even worse, at dinner I picked up a plate that had dried egg residue on it. I ignored it and took another one, but it had the same issue.
There were no slippers in the room.
We stayed on a half-board basis. Drinks were included at breakfast, but at dinner only plain water was free. This wasn’t a big issue for us, but although the staff were polite, we sometimes felt like we were being watched.
The food options were repetitive, with almost the same dishes every day. As for desserts, expectations should be low—we didn’t like them at all.

The staff were generally very kind and helpful. The pool area and the hotel overall were clean.
The entertainment/animations were enjoyable, and the cocktails were good.
Whenever we needed something, like an iron, it was provided quickly. The staff always made an effort to assist with any questions we had.
The shuttle service to the beaches during the day was a big plus, as it meant we didn’t need to take a taxi.
Smoking areas were clearly separated, which was great—especially since no one was smoking around children. Smoking was also not allowed on the balconies, which we appreciated.
The room size was good.
