I don’t understand why this hotel has such a high rating. I’ve been staying here for four days now, and my impressions are very mixed.
I came here with my children. The trip was arranged by a travel agent — a girl from Egypt. She suggested this hotel as one of the best in Sharm. I looked at the photos and reviews and agreed. Unfortunately!
She booked a Superior Room Garden View at Charmillion Gardens Aqua Park for us. However, they said it was upgraded, so we were placed in a room overlooking the aqua park. I honestly don’t see what kind of upgrade that is — during the day there’s constant noise from children screaming outside the window. When we entered the room, it turned out to be just a standard room with an extra bed — basically an extremely uncomfortable folding cot. As a result, the three of us are sleeping in one bed.
When I went to the reception to ask whether this was really a superior room, they said yes. I contacted the manager who organized the trip to clarify the situation, and she told me there were no other options because of Trump’s recent visit. I wanted to move to another hotel, but this one said they wouldn’t refund the money. After long back-and-forth messages, I decided to stay here.
The food in the restaurant is about a 7/10. It takes around 10 minutes to walk to the beach, which isn’t very pleasant in the heat. The beach itself isn’t suitable for swimming — you can only dip your feet in the water. If you want access to the coral reef, you need to walk another five minutes, and even there the pontoon isn’t finished. You have to walk through shallow water to reach the pontoon and then climb into the sea from there.
The territory is large and beautiful — that’s a plus. The aqua park is great too. But the situation with the beach was a big disappointment.
Also, the bed linen and towels probably used to be white about two years ago — now they’re grayish, and the duvet cover is torn. The overall cleanliness and maintenance are far from what you expect from a five-star hotel.
At this point, this has been our worst experience in Egypt, and we definitely won’t be coming back to this hotel. It’s nowhere near a 5-star standard.

Spent a week at Charmillion and had the best week ever. The staff are very polite and always willing to give you a hand. Cleaners are very hardworking and you can see them working from early hours till late (I don’t know how in this heat) especially Mohammed, could always tell he made special effort.
The food was nice. I did get sick but really I don’t know why people complain. It’s a hot country so in a way I was expecting an upset stomach. You can tell their food is freshly made.
The only thing I didn’t like was the “upgrade” on our arrival. The man at the reception told us “you have a standard room but I can give you an upgrade for a little tip” I didn’t want to argue so I just gave it to him.
The entertainment is spot on. There is always something going on for the kids and adults from the animation team. Naser- especially with his dancing skills🕺
Overall, great experience and will be coming back.

Shockingly Bad Experience at Charmillion Club Aqua Park
My stay at Charmillion Club Aqua Park in Egypt was nothing short of horrendous, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone looking for even a basic standard of service or comfort.
1. Reception & Customer Service – Absolutely Appalling
The daytime reception staff member — who claims to be one of the managers — was by far the worst part of the entire trip. His attitude was shocking: dismissive, unhelpful, and constantly providing incorrect information.
A perfect example of his incompetence was when I simply asked how to access the games room. Instead of giving a clear answer, he sent me to the bar and told me to stay there for 10 minutes. I was sent in circles, completely confused, only to end up being taken back to him, where he finally processed the payment he could have handled in the first place. It was absolutely ridiculous and showed how unwilling he was to help from the start.
Any time we phoned reception for assistance, we were lucky if someone showed up within an hour — and on some occasions, no one came at all. For staff who are supposed to be the face of the hotel, the service was shocking.
2. Room Problems – Unsafe, Poorly Maintained, and Inconvenient
The rooms themselves were far below any acceptable standard.
One mattress was so uneven it felt like a health and safety hazard.
Our rooms were separated into different buildings, causing constant inconvenience. Something as simple as ironing clothes meant going back and forth, wasting time every day.
We had booked this holiday roughly six months in advance and specifically requested rooms together. We were completely ignored. Instead, we were given false reassurance that something would be done, but it was obvious the receptionist had no intention of helping.
To make matters worse, one of the rooms had a toilet lock that didn’t even work. We reported it immediately and were told someone would fix it. No one ever came — not once during the entire stay.
3. Food – Genuinely Horrific
The food was another huge disappointment. The quality was poor, the variety was awful, and most meals were simply not enjoyable. For a resort that advertises so much, the dining experience was shockingly bad.
4. Small Positives
To be fair, some members of staff were genuinely nice, especially housekeeping.
The pools and slides were not too bad, and they were one of the few things we could actually enjoy.
Overall: A deeply disappointing stay that felt stressful, uncomfortable, and neglected. I would never return.

They’ve hold our check-in process due to missing tax paper from tourism company side! And they are mentioning it like this is a normal action!!
This issue is not related to the end-customer, this issue is between the hotel and the tourism company!! Not Me. They are using me to put pressure on the tourism company to deliver their tax paper! What about my experience? After traveling for 9 hours and need to get rest!
They deserve less than 1 star rating.
I’ve called the Tourism Police.

We stayed here as a family from 5–16 November and unfortunately the experience was far below expectations for the price. Three family members needed medical assistance (one case of food poisoning and two strong allergic reactions), something none of us has ever had before.
The hotel is very isolated — no shops or restaurants nearby, and all prices for tourists are heavily inflated. The shops inside the hotel also charge 2–4 times more. The territory is small and covered with very slippery tiles. Mosquitoes are a big issue, and we even saw a small snake in the kids’ club.
No heated pools, so swimming in November was uncomfortable. The shuttle to the beach does not follow the schedule, and several times we had to walk. Rooms are cleaned well but very noisy: planes fly directly overhead, and music around the aqua zone is very loud.
Food is acceptable but very simple and repetitive, not matching the cost. A-la-carte restaurants offer almost the same food as the buffet. Entertainment is extremely weak for both kids and adults; after 23:00 the hotel becomes completely quiet, with no programs.
Some staff members were friendly and tried to help, and we appreciated the birthday cakes. However, service is inconsistent, and security often acted in a way that made guests uncomfortable. We were promised a small compensation but ended up paying full price even for late check-out.
Overall, the hotel is overpriced for what it offers. Other hotels in the same chain (especially the one near the beach) had better food and a better aqua park. Our impression is neutral, but we wouldn’t return for this cost
