Exceptional service from Noureddine (Jumbo Tours) vs Mixed Hotel Experience
I had a wonderful week in Morocco, but it was truly thanks to Noureddine from Jumbo Tours. He is an absolute professional and a kind human being. When I fell ill, he personally took care of me, even bringing me rice and medication. He managed our entire stay perfectly and deserves 10 stars!
However, I have mixed feelings about the hotel. While the general atmosphere was good, the housekeeping was very unprofessional. When we arrived (2 hours after the scheduled check-in time!), our room was still being cleaned. The service was slow and extremely poor: the bedsheets were not all changed, towels were left in a corner, and the toilet was dirty with hair from previous guests. It was unacceptable.
Thankfully, Noureddine stepped in after our complaints to reception. Thanks to him, we were moved to a fantastic, renovated, and perfectly clean room. He turned a stressful start into a great holiday.
My rating:
Noureddine (Jumbo Tours): 5/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Hotel: 3.5/5 ⭐⭐⭐

PROS:
- staff was friendly and helpful — they helped us bring all our suitcases to our rooms
- location is very good — located basically in front of the beach and there are a lot of shops around
- they’re very accomodating with check-ins and check outs are fairly late (12.00PM)
CONS:
- overall room cleanliness was poor — some towels were stained or smelled, we found some insects on the bed, the floor was dirty (white socks turned black in like 10 minutes)
- food was quite bland. there were many options, but at the same time if felt repetitive

The room itself is clean, with very comfy bed & large comfy pillows, dressing table, large mirror, really useful mini fridge and air con. Bathroom very tired, loo & sink clean but tiles not. No plug for sink or bath. Needs a real update. There is a hairdryer & spare socket though....only 1 in bedroom so it's handy. Would have rated room higher but for bathroom.
Sadly my room and the 2 by me should not really have been allocated as there's very noisy building work in the rooms next to me, behind me & above me, from 9am to 5pm. No chance of a siesta!. They did offer to move me today but with only 3 days left I declined. Staff are very friendly with basic English widely spoken. Handy to know some basic French though especially bonjour, or have google translate to hand. Reception staff not as nice as the waiters and housekeeping. Coffee served with breakfast, other times you pay, around £1.50. Breakfast always good buffet selection with omelettes, breads, fruit, cereals etc. Dinner has a huge cold selection with limited hot food, tagines, fried chicken, lots of veg & rice dishes, daily pasta dish & pizza, all quite bland though. Poor dessert selection and no icecream so kids might struggle. The plates are cold & food luke warm, even when just opened at 7pm. Limited bar selection with 1/2 bottle wine £7, beer around £1.90. I brought duty free gin with me & then went to Uniprix supermarket....glorified souvenier shop but lots of alcohol, where I got palatable bottles of wine for £4 ( only sold after 10am). No screw tops but they sell corkscrews by the till. I didn't use the bar as I'm on a tight budget, or the nightclub. The fast food place is great for lunch & reasonably priced. My room is very bottom of complex closest to the beach so it's a bit of a hike up to the main area. Lots of steps, or wheelchair friendly ramps. Lovely grounds. No shop for basic items like water so I stocked up at Uniprix, about £3 each way by orange taxi. I'm an older solo female and feel perfectly safe. Overall it's good value for money in a good location.

We recently stayed at Hotel Almoggar (Oct 2025) and had a mixed experience. The animation staff were absolutely amazing — full of energy, creativity, and warmth. They really brought the place to life and made the stay extremely memorable. Breakfast was a highlight too, especially the omelettes which were fresh, tasty, and cooked to perfection.
On the downside, the room was quite basic and could have been cleaner. It served its purpose but lacked attention to detail. Having said that though, it was still good value for money. Some areas of the hotel are definitely showing their age and would benefit from upgrading to match the vibrant atmosphere created by the animation staff. The uploaded photo (taken on the large roof terrace/balcony with sea views) shows just how well-situated it is: steps from the marina, kasbah, and beach, making it an ideal base for exploring. We’re already looking forward to returning, and next time we’ll opt for one of the upgraded rooms—they’re more modern, and definitely worth the extra cost.

This hotel is placed in a very good & accessible place, to the beach, The Fort, the Soyk etc. The staff are very friendly, our room was serviced spotlessly by Naeema everyday. The restaurants feature very yummy food with a good variety to chose from. Lots of activities are available like badminton, table tennis, yoga, pool fitness etc, for people of all ages.
The place needs a face-lift as it looks very run down. The swimming pool water was cold everyday.
