Lovely hotel with gorgeous views of the sea. The all inclusive is good with branded drinks and nice cocktails. The food is decent- would be nice to see more vegetarian options but there is a good variety of food in general. There is entertainment each evening and a number of bars open all day/evening.
Rooms are lovely and cleaned daily to a high standard. There are plenty of sunbeds available and a staff member goes round in the morning removing towels from reserved beds which is great- means there isn’t a 7am rush to get beds!
Overall, it’s a really lovely, relaxing break.
And the hotel will always be a special place for me as it’s where my partner proposed to me ❤️

THE GOOD POINTS
The balcony room was great, and so were the staff and food.
I was able to hire a mobility scooter from the hotel.
THE BAD POINTS
We stayed from 20th - 30th Dec 2025
We were on half board. I do not drink alcohol, and my partner, who does had a bottle of wine for dinner every three nights. On Christmas Day night a ticket show was put on, for which a table had to be booked...and an expensive bottle of wine had to be bought. No alternative! For people not attending the show, a live singer was meant to appear in the reception. No singer.. only music piped from somewhere.
Health and Safety
I am 79 and use two sticks. On the last morning of our stay I descended in the lift, to the dining hall, at 8 30, and immediately went sliding on the tiled floor. The cleaners were washing the floor, and made it as slippery as a skating rink. One of the cleaners had to grab me to stop me from falling over.
The second thing was that we had to collect a coach to go to the airport, but decided to go to a restaurant on site for a menu del dia, at 1pm. The food was good until it came to my postre- creme caramel - when I put some of it in my mouth. I bit on something hard, removed it from my mouth, and found it was a large piece of jagged plastic. I could have choked on it! We asked to see the chef, the waiter was not interested in getting him, in fact he tried to avoid us. He then asked what board we had been on...and then said that he would deduct the price of the bottle of water, that we had been drinking from the bill. Not the response expected when I could have choked to death! We had a coach to catch otherwise we would have taken it further!

After many years we returned to the Gran Tinerfe hotel for Christmas and New Year.
We were delighted with the whole experience. The staff were so welcoming, the room was very clean and well appointed, the restaurants and food couldn't be faulted.
Enjoyed it so much that we have rebooked to celebrate our Anniversary in March!
Our thanks to all the wonderful staff at the Gran Tinerfe for making us feel so welcome.

Spent £3500 to stat here for 10 night and the service is awful
The suites smell like they've cleaned with fish and had marks on the walls
The bathroom is dirty and there are stains on the sun lougers on the balcony
No matter how hard and how often you try you cannot reserve parking at all
The elevators don't seem to work very well either, multiple time we have to climb up 11 floors because the elevators didn't work
And they seem to have a prejudice against British
There are other hotels in the area I suggest going to them as this place is awful
To management, I asked repeatedly to get a parking space and was denied.
Your staff at the checking desk clearly treat me and my partner differently than other European gusts suggesting slight racism
And the room we had was not worth £3500 and neither was the care we received
If you want us to spend luxury money like that amount we expect luxury treatment

After a talk with the customer service manager and having my airline step in most of the problems did get resolved including the parking issue
My partner had her birthday today too and whilst we were put exploring the staff left champagne, a birthday cake and a note of birthday wishes
To all staff who have helped, you have my thanks and appreciation as my partner really liked the surprise
Thank you to all

So after noticing the balcony hasn't been wiped down of condensation we had a cock roach enjoying our balcony too
Gives you an idea of how clean this place is

With the reply from the Hotel recently I am compelled to reply in kind.
Firstly in regards to the parking I was told multiple times that there was no parking when I spoke to the front desk, only when i told you jet2 was now getting involved that you some how magically found a parking space I remember this as i was on the way out the front door with my partner to acquire the rental car. so the reservation on the parking is a complete lie.
looking at how the in house rental firm can come and go with the security key provided it is very evident that your Hotel and the in house rental firm share that car park as to forward your own profit, it is understandable why you do it but it is a poor practice.
Secondly, the point on the slight racism at the front desk by the staff, why is it normal practice to stare at your guests with looks of disgust? is this not going against company policy? and what about the lack of cleaning in out room? only getting the floor cleaned every two days? is this normal for a four star Hotel or was this targeted?
Lastly on the point of your service, when your staff actually did their job they did it well. I've already stated they helped make my partners stay on her birthday wonderful and the daily chocolates was great and your in house breakfast was good enough to take us to lunch, But you are advertising as a four star hotel and that is not the standard we saw when we were there.
Your in house bracelet system is pathetic, pushing your guests to stay in house for everything and seemingly punishing those who dare actually leave and venture out on the island
All the lying to your guests on parking, having large insects coming into the top floor suits and your elevators are ridiculous at one stage we had to take the stairs to the top floor as your elevators had stopped operating and yet you claim that your service is excellent, this is not true
If most of your guests were like myself and my partner, young, sober and actually seeking quality in their stay your reviews would have be different and i challenge you to look at your 1 star reviews they all basically the same type of people as myself
Thank you for what you did for my partner for her birthday and the offer to return, but we will not be returning any time soon as your establishment falls short in many areas in the hospitality sector

My stay at the Hotel Gran Tinerfe was most enjoyable in every way.
The Hotel is centrally located, giving easy access to everything which the town has to offer. In particular, the bus station is a short walk away which I found very useful when visiting nearby locations. The proximity to the beach made it easy to visit all of the attractions along the waterfront; this faced west and gave the opportunity to see some magnificent sunsets over the island of La Gomera. A short walk along the waterfront led to the neighbouring resort of Playa Las Americas.
My room was clean, spacious and very comfortable. The bars were well-stocked and welcoming. The food in the buffet restaurant was well-prepared and presented, with a lot of variation day-by-day, and with plenty of choice at each meal. I had three meals in the speciality restaurants and they, too, were of exceptionally high standard.
The evening entertainment was varied and very enjoyable.
I found the staff (reception, room service, bars and restaurants) to be very friendly and helpful at all times.
Overall, this was an excellent stay throughout, and I thoroughly recommend this hotel.
