We stayed at the hotel for 9 days. At first, it looks very nice and well maintained. The air conditioning worked perfectly, Wi-Fi was stable, and we loved the tropical greenery around the hotel. We booked a Club Alexandre room and were happy with the balcony overlooking the pool and ocean (although the balcony walls are quite high, so you need to stand to fully enjoy the view). The birthday surprise with a card and champagne was a very thoughtful touch.
However, there were some disappointing aspects. The food was very repetitive — breakfast was identical every morning, and dinner quality and presentation were inconsistent. Some fruit did not seem fresh, and juices tasted diluted.
The dining area is not air conditioned, and the temperature inside was around 28°C in the evenings, which made it uncomfortable. The buffet area was sometimes messy and food refills were slow. Some staff members appeared disengaged.
Another issue was sunbed reservations by the pool. Although it is not allowed, many guests reserve them very early in the morning, and the hotel does not seem to enforce the rule. It was difficult to find available loungers unless arriving very early.
Overall, the hotel has potential thanks to its location and greenery, but improvements in food quality, dining comfort, and pool management would greatly enhance the experience.

Not a bad hotel , pool extremely shallow & other one far too deep & freezing cold . Nothing in between !
Foregoing the usual wristband system of identifying guest board basis , staff approach everyone at their tables each mealtime & demand , often aggressively , your room card to check you’ve paid - often 3 or 4 will demand to see it , before you’ve eaten your starter . Even after seeing it only hours earlier they queue up to demand it again, even though a booking is 24 hours so dinner obviously includes breakfast next day- the Same employee aggressively demands it anyway. Often followed by several colleagues asking again over & over, in the implication all guests are ‘stealing ‘ food unless they can prove otherwise - similar to patting down supermarket customers while shopping , often many times within a few minutes .. with the reason it is to deter shoplifters . Some staff (esp middle aged gentleman with spikey hair ) enjoy the process greatly , having failed the exam to enter the Waffen SS.

Very disappointing experience. I honestly cannot understand how this hotel has a 4-star rating.
Hygiene standards are far below what I expected. During breakfast I found glasses with lipstick marks and visible dirt that had clearly not been washed properly. Several plates also had dried food stains still on them. Guests should never have to inspect every glass and plate before using them.
I also witnessed clean towels being transported while touching trolleys used for dirty laundry. Basic hygiene procedures should prevent clean and dirty items from coming into contact.
What I found ironic was seeing signs throughout the hotel asking guests to help protect the environment, while the hotel itself fails to maintain proper hygiene standards. Protecting the environment is important, but protecting guests' health should always come first.
Unfortunately, this hotel does not provide the level of cleanliness or professionalism that anyone would reasonably expect from a 4-star all-inclusive resort. I would not recommend it.

Can't fault the place with the service we received and overall experience.
The rooms- spacious and comfortable, even a kettle included which we usually have to pay for as extra! Clean bathroom and relaxing balcony space.
Pool Area - One of the best we've ever had the pleasure of being around. A pool for adults at 1.8m deep and a large family pool at 1.2m deep (also HEATED!) There's also a small pool for toddlers at the back of the terraced area.
Food - Strange seeing reviews based on limited choices. There was plenty on offer when we were browsing around. On the grill most nights you'll find chicken, turkey, pork, beef or fish with variety of other foods and accompaniments surrounding the buffet . Themes such as Asain (curry) , Mexican (Tacos) Chinese (spring rolls, satay) etc. A variety on weekly basis to keep things interesting.
Location - Right next to Veronica's strip but it wasn't too loud. My wife, son and I all slept well each night. It's an ideal location for pubs, restaurants and getting to the beach, there's a shortcut through the side of the hotel that takes you straight out to the McDonald's across from the beach. Very handy and saves time walking out the front of the hotel. It does lock at night around 9pm I'm sure so bare that in mind.
Other- Reception staff were very helpful with our excursion bookings and our late transfer time, easily storing our luggage and booking a shower room before we left.
Such a positive experience that we will be returning next year 😁

Good stay and great food, but service and management need serious improvement
Overall, Hotel Gala is a good place to rest and sleep, with comfortable and well-maintained rooms, but several operational issues need management's attention.
The Good:
The food at the main buffet is good and varied, with different theme nights that keep things interesting. Despite some negative reviews claiming otherwise, I found the buffet quality to be one of the best I’ve experienced in an All-Inclusive hotel.
Service & Dining Issues:
Snacks: Outside main buffet hours, options are very limited and reduced almost entirely to basic fast food.
Pool Bars: The main pool bar usually has only one staff member, creating long queues. Even with two workers, there is zero coordination. The second pool bar is opened but completely unstaffed. The lifeguard nearby even mocked the situation, joking to another staff member that if they walked into the bar, they’d actually have to serve people.
Breakfast Queue: The omelette station is extremely slow and blocks access for anyone just trying to grab churros or pancakes.
Bar Staff: Service at the bars is generally weak, and the staff member at the main bar needs a much friendlier attitude towards guests.
Meal Drinks & Restocking: Drink service at meals is extremely slow (my drink once arrived at the end of my meal). The buffet also runs out of food items and cutlery frequently.
All-Inclusive Rules: It is unclear what is actually included in the AI package.
Pool & Facilities:
Sunbeds: The "no reservation" rule is written everywhere but completely ignored. Guests reserve sunbeds with towels from 6:00 AM with zero staff intervention. Management needs to either enforce it or remove the rule.
Showers & Water: Shower water temperature constantly fluctuates between hot and cold. Also, drinking water in the room was never replenished after arrival (only 2 bottles provided for the whole stay, which is insufficient for a 4-star All-Inclusive).
Cleanliness: Room cups were just rinsed on-site instead of replaced with clean ones. Public restrooms continuously had a foul sewage smell. Dining tables were left piled with dirty dishes, and staff often just swept a cloth over them for show without actually cleaning them (as shown in my photo).
Beach Towel Policy: Requires a €15 deposit. The instruction sheet says to return the paper for the deposit, but at checkout, they demand the original payment receipt too—leaving even the receptionist confused. It’s pure management laziness not to update printed instructions.
Verdict:
A nice hotel with great buffet food, but higher management urgently needs to fix these daily operational failures, maintenance issues, and staff workflows.
