The hotel staff is extremely unpleasant. It took over 40 minutes to check in. We had been on the road all day and wanted to check in and relax as quickly as possible. When we asked questions of the lady at the front desk, she answered in an unpleasant manner and berated us with a colleague at the desk next to us in Spanish. I can't remember what our receptionist's name was - I think it was M.Jose (an older lady with gray hair), and the other receptionist was Beatriz. Then an older waiter/room attendant , also an older gentleman with a black earpiece in his ear. Very unpleasant and arrogant. Everyone seemed to work there as if for punishment. The food was fine and the location of the hotel was also fine. Unfortunately, but the service of this hotel is disappointing and I will definitely not return there.

We recently stayed at this hotel and had an absolutely wonderful experience! The cleanliness of the rooms and common areas was impeccable — everything was spotless and well-maintained throughout our stay. The food was consistently delicious, with a great variety of dishes to choose from every day.
But what truly made our stay unforgettable was the activities and entertainment team. They went above and beyond to create a fun, energetic, and welcoming atmosphere. Their enthusiasm, creativity, and genuine care made every day exciting and full of joy. Whether it was games, informative or daily sports activities they kept the energy high and made sure everyone was having a great time. A special shoutout to Dani (if I remember correctly) whose great energy and warm personality stood out. Dani not only made every activity fun and engaging, but also gave us some fantastic tips about exploring the island, which made our trip even more enjoyable.
Thanks to them, we made great memories and truly enjoyed every moment of our stay. We can’t thank them enough for the positive energy they brought — they’re a credit to the hotel and a big reason why we would love to return. Highly recommended!

Firstly the positives - the hotel looks very nice, and the rooms are a good size. There were 3 of us in our room, so the setup of a lounge area at the front where our teenager son had his bed, then the bathroom and at the back our bedroom, suited us well. First time I was in a hotel with draws in the bathroom which I found great. The pool is rather small, which wouldn't have been too much of an issue if the animation didn't use up over half of the pool most of the day.
The rooms were cleaned daily, but the public areas were often quite dirty.
The hotel is very close to beautiful beaches, and a good shopping area.
Now the negatives: There are only 2 bars in the hotel - the lobby bar which is only open in the evenings, and the pool bar. The pool bar only serves drinks in recycled cups - which were often either dirty or full of cleaning liquid. In general they tasted strange.
To get a cup you had to have a token, so we were constantly searching for our tokens or carrying around dirty cups as we didn't want to stand in line again to exchange the cup for a token. As we were All-inc we really didn't understand/appreciate this constant back and forth. Also as I mentioned only the pool bar was open during the day - so there is no where to have a drink inside or in a proper glass during the day.
The food: Horrible. How a hotel manages to bring food out of a kitchen and it be stone cold I don't understand. On the other side of things all meat was so over cooked it was often difficult to tell what it was. The queueing system was set up in a way that it was difficult to see what was on offer, and you had to queue separately for the meat to other things, often with a long wait - resulting in everything on your plate definitely ending up cold. The choice did not vary much in the 10 days we were there, and by the end of the first week we gave up and started eating out at restaurants.

We stayed here for one week and were impressed overall. The rooms were tidy, well kept and clean much like every visible area of the hotel. Food choices were consistent each day although the evening meals had more variety and the drinks of good quality. The heated pool was a real bonus even though it was windy outside the pool being warm made a big difference.
If you have children it's very kid friendly and all staff interacted with my son in a positive way which he loved. We didn't use the kids club but
The housekeeping and entertainment teams were visibly excellent throughout and I've held back one star for service after a frustrating conversation with one of the service team which was a shame considering how excellent everyone else was throughout.

We just finished 2 weeks at Sol Jandia and definitely recommend it. The rooms were clean and tidied every day and the view from our balcony was great. No issues overall with the service but some staff were far more friendly and accommodating than others, I found the experience in the Lobby bar and restaurant far more pleasant than the Pool and Snack bar, the quality of drinks is also far better in the Lobby bar so we would get drinks there and then take them to the pool. Most of the time you’ll get a pre-made cocktail from a slushie machine but the lobby bar would frequently make them from scratch and put a bit more effort in.
The food was fine, it’s not 5* and it’s not always consistent but the variety of what’s on offer is great. Some of the food I loved, some I didn’t but you can never expect everything to like everything when catering for so many.
Saving the best until last is the activity and entertainment team, exceptional. All so friendly, so funny and all of the activities were worthwhile. Definitely a must if you have kids but also a lot of great things for the adults (don’t underestimate their circuit training or fitness classes, I’m still sore)
General tips for anyone staying in the area: if you rent a car be careful if it’s on the day of the market or the day or before/after. There is a lot of parking out the front of the hotel and the main car park becomes the market on a Thursday but when the market is on, the people who have market stalls will absolutely box every car in without a problem and it’s impossible to find the owner of the vehicles. We couldn’t return our hire car despite parking it where Avis requested, because 3 market trucks boxed the car in along with several others who couldn’t move.
If you like swimming/snorkelling, go down to the beach and follow it to the rocks/cliffs towards the harbour. We were surprised by a huge stingray within 2 minutes that we ended up swimming with for almost an hour.
Most places that require tickets for entry like the zoo (which was great), tend to class any ages over 10-12 as an adult, so be aware that you’ll likely pay adult prices for any kids between 10-16 depending where you go
