We recently stayed 10 days at Sol Fuerteventura and overall had a good experience.
The food was very good, and the variety was definitely a positive surprise. Our room was beautiful and spacious, which we really appreciated. However, there were quite a lot of ants on the terrace and even in the room, and some insects in the bathroom, which was disappointing.
We had half board with drinks included during the meals. The only thing that felt a bit strange was how drinks were handled at the bar — we kept receiving our drinks in different glasses: sometimes smaller, sometimes larger, which was a bit confusing.
On the positive side, the animation team was absolutely wonderful. They were always friendly, energetic, and made the atmosphere really fun. Paula and Alvaro were especially great and made our stay very enjoyable. Also there was live music every evening.
The location is top, close to the shopping area, to the beach and sea promenade - which takes you to the central area of Morro Jable.
Overall, it was a nice experience with delicious food and amazing staff, despite a few things which could be improved.

Stunning hotel with lovely, super friendly staff!!! And delicious food, clean rooms and various amazing activities. The pools are also nice with a great selection of cocktails at the pool bar. Came here for our honeymoon, we received a free champagne and for my birthday as well!

We just finished 2 weeks at Sol Jandia and definitely recommend it. The rooms were clean and tidied every day and the view from our balcony was great. No issues overall with the service but some staff were far more friendly and accommodating than others, I found the experience in the Lobby bar and restaurant far more pleasant than the Pool and Snack bar, the quality of drinks is also far better in the Lobby bar so we would get drinks there and then take them to the pool. Most of the time you’ll get a pre-made cocktail from a slushie machine but the lobby bar would frequently make them from scratch and put a bit more effort in.
The food was fine, it’s not 5* and it’s not always consistent but the variety of what’s on offer is great. Some of the food I loved, some I didn’t but you can never expect everyone to like everything when catering for so many.
Saving the best until last is the activity and entertainment team, exceptional. All so friendly, so funny and all of the activities were worthwhile. Definitely a must if you have kids but also a lot of great things for the adults (don’t underestimate their circuit training or fitness classes, I’m still sore)
General tips for anyone staying in the area: if you rent a car be careful if it’s on the day of the market or the day or before/after. There is a lot of parking out the front of the hotel and the main car park becomes the market on a Thursday but when the market is on, the people who have market stalls will absolutely box every car in without a problem and it’s impossible to find the owner of the vehicles. We couldn’t return our hire car despite parking it where Avis requested, because 3 market trucks boxed the car in along with several others who couldn’t move.
If you like swimming/snorkelling, go down to the beach and follow it to the rocks/cliffs towards the harbour. We were surprised by a huge stingray within 2 minutes that we ended up swimming with for almost an hour.
Most places that require tickets for entry like the zoo (which was great), tend to class any ages over 10-12 as an adult, so be aware that you’ll likely pay adult prices for any kids between 10-16 depending where you go

I expected more from a 4-star resort, but unfortunately my stay did not meet expectations.
Cleaning was disappointing: towels and bed linen were only changed on request, and although the room was cleaned daily, it was done very quickly and the floor often remained dirty. Check-in also took unusually long, and we had an issue with the room lock, which was inconvenient and not resolved quickly. Some staff members were not welcoming and at times looked irritated when asked for help, which felt uncomfortable.
The food was another letdown. The buffet had a very limited selection, the quality was poor, and most dishes tasted the same. For a 4-star resort, I expected fresh and varied meals, not repetitive options. The pool snack bar was also inconvenient due to dress code restrictions. Drinks in the all-inclusive system were very limited, with only four machine-made cocktails included, while other options required extra payment. Even coffee was only served in proper cups if you paid.
Overall, the resort has a good location, but the service, food, and overall experience did not justify the 4-star rating. I would not choose to stay here again.

Not Worth the anxiety – Poor Service, Cold Food, and Security Lapses
We arrived at the Meliá Sol Fuerteventura Hotel November 2025 and were immediately disappointed. Check-in was extremely slow — we waited around 25–30 minutes at reception, and when a staff member finally became available, she told us she was going for her break. Only after seeing how unhappy we were she reluctantly checked us in.
Despite requesting a preferred room area on our booking form, we were not informed of any availability and not given one. The receptionist confirmed she could see our request but said the person allocating rooms had “missed it.” We were told to speak to the manager the next morning. Finding our room was also difficult — it was dark, and the signposting around the hotel is very poor. We managed to change rooms the following day, but this should not have been necessary. Online checkin does not streamline the process.
The food was cold every night, even at the very start of service, and the Room request was a complete waste of money.
The “mini bar” consisted only of small bottles of water and soda (no local beer as stipulated). We often did not receive fresh towels or water, and on most days the bed wasn’t even made for us and housekeeping seemed a hit or miss.
One serious concern was that a security pass was left in our room presumably by staff. We immediately handed it in at reception, but the receptionist simply shrugged her shoulders — no apology or concern whatsoever. This raised major questions about the hotel’s safety and professionalism.
The reception staff are consistently unfriendly, unhelpful, and uninterested in resolving problems. Overall, the hotel’s standards and management are far below what is advertised.
The only positive is the location, but that alone doesn’t make up for the poor service, cold food, and lack of care.
I would not recommend this hotel and would not return.
