We enjoyed a generally positive two-week stay during our summer holiday this year.
Positives:
• The rooms are recently renovated, spacious, and comfortable.
• Breakfast is very good, especially with the availability of proper espresso coffee.
• Maintenance and housekeeping responded quickly to a minor plumbing issue and to requests for additional toiletries.
• Overall service has improved significantly compared with the early reviews after reopening, when many staff members were still in training.
• The nearby beaches are excellent and easily reachable on foot or by a short taxi ride.
Areas for Improvement :
•Hotel towels
The towel-replacement policy doesn’t seem environmentally friendly. Despite the sign indicating that towels would only be changed if left in the shower, all towels including those hung up were replaced daily.
•Restaurant
The main restaurant was open throughout our stay.
While lunch options are fairly standard, the dinner menu felt limited and not particularly appealing. With more variety and pricing that better reflects the portion sizes, we would have preferred to dine at the hotel more often especially since many nearby restaurants within walking distance were mediocre, and traveling to the main town every evening wasn’t ideal.

We had such a lovely Christmas break here. The rooms are so comfortable, very nicely furnished and the amenities superb. The gym and pool were lovely, and they also have some wellness and sauna offerings for an additional charge. It's right on the beach with a wooden walkway directly from the hotel to the beach, perfect to catch sunrise or sunset. What stood out for us was that the hotel was pet friendly, allowing us to have a lovely time with our dog. Not only pet friendly, but dogs are allowed in all main areas which was amazing. The staff was incredible, they really made our stay special by going above and beyond with helping, suggesting things to do and just being super friendly. Highly recommend!

We stayed at the Kimpton Algarve during the winter off-season, which may have influenced some aspects of our experience. The room itself was fine and comfortable. Upon arrival, there was no assistance offered with our luggage, so we carried it from the car to the front desk. The room thermostat was limited to a range of 68–72°F, which didn’t allow much flexibility for personal comfort. The food was acceptable but fairly average. Overall, the stay was satisfactory, and some of these elements may be related to reduced services during the winter season.

This resort is beautiful. It was recently renovated and looks incredible. The staff were also lovely and made us feel very welcome.
That said, we had two major issues:
1. Food – Unfortunately, the food was very disappointing. We tried the restaurant one evening (the burger tasted oddly spiced, maybe with cinnamon) and ordered room service another night. Both meals felt more like canteen food than resort dining. For a resort of this caliber, we expected much better. We ended up eating off-site for the rest of our stay. Thankfully there are plenty of great restaurants nearby.
2. Heated pool – We chose this resort partly because it advertised a “heated pool,” which we thought would be ideal for late September in Portugal. In reality, the pools were freezing, closer to an ice plunge than anything usable. Hardly anyone was swimming, and when we asked about it, we were directed to the indoor pool, which was also uncomfortably cold.
Overall, the resort has a lot of potential, but some important basics need to be addressed to truly match the beautiful setting.

We spent the weekend at the hotel and are genuinely impressed. The grounds are spacious, beautifully designed, and well maintained, with direct access to the beach. The quality of the rooms, hotel facilities, and gym is top-notch. The outdoor pools are quite cold in early November (around 16–18°C), but there’s a well-heated indoor pool about 20 meters long—perfect for swimming. The staff are very friendly and attentive; we never experienced the long wait times mentioned in other reviews, though the hotel wasn’t fully booked. Breakfast was plentiful and left nothing to be desired. The gym is truly outstanding—excellent equipment, lots of space, and impeccably clean.
We’d happily come back anytime. We paid around €160 per night including breakfast.
