We had an amazing stay at the Algarve Casino, on arrival we were greeted with such a friendly reception team, and made to feel very welcome. They even took our luggage up to the room while we had a look around and a drink on the amazing veranda with the beach view, was absolutely stunning. I had pre arranged for our room to be decorated as we were there to celebrate our wedding anniversary and my husbands 50th birthday and they made it look perfect, even on the morning of his birthday, they sang happy birthday at breakfast and brought out cake and fizz to start the day. Was so well thought out and planned. We were over the moon. The room was very spacious and comfortable and spotless, the balcony and beach view was out of this world, amazing sunsets to watch.
We had a lovely stay with you and look forward to staying again!
Thanks so much for everything.

Lovely location on the beach in Portimao. Stairs down from the hotel onto the beach, these are locked at night & key access. Breakfast selection is good. We booked a sea view room & very happy with it. Beautiful tile floors, and wooden furniture. Not modern but in fairness we don't spend much time in the room anyway. Views are fantastic. Loads of restaurants outside the door as well as the hotel restaurants to choose from. Check in is at 15:00 and they will look after your luggage. Parking is around the corner in a parking station but free of charge.

Five stars? Not even close — it’s more like three at best.
The hotel is located in a great area, offering a casino, spa, children’s play area, a large pool zone, and direct access to the beach — and yes, the staff are indeed very friendly and professional.
However, that’s about all the praise it deserves. Although promoted as a five-star hotel, it has definitely lost at least two stars. The rooms are spacious and clean, but outdated and in serious need of renovation, reflecting a general sense of decline. In our room, the curtains were hanging loose and did not provide proper blackout coverage. The other two windows had wooden blinds that didn’t close properly either.
Breakfast is served in a large hall, but most of the food is industrially prepared, with plenty of variety but little freshness — the only genuinely fresh items were the fruits and fruit salad. In one section of the dining room, there were visible water stains and damage, seemingly from a past air-conditioning leak or flooding.
We had dinner there one evening; the dishes were tasty, well-presented, and overall a pleasant experience. However, the bar service was a disaster — it was impossible to get served unless you went up and called for the bartender yourself. When he finally came, he complained about being overworked and said he couldn’t do anything about it. Extremely rude and unprofessional — a real shame for a hotel that aims for a luxury standard.

I would definetely recommend this hotel and only because of Maya!
Maya is the best receptionist ever! She is so kind, she made sure we had breakfast at 5:30 even though the buffet isn’t open until 7:30. If I would ever return to Portimão, I would book this hotel just to see Maya again. I miss her already!

Stunning location! Booked this for our honeymoon- what a wonderful experience. They upgraded our room to a suite without even asking :)
The hotel has a private beach (I think they charge a few euros for towels and such at the beach but our balcony view was so good that we didn’t really use the umbrellas over at the beach). The pool area is really good - the clientele is slightly older, which was great for us because we were looking for a a quiet, chill afternoon by the pool.
Breakfast buffet is pretty good - try to go early though, there’s a queue around 9. We also tried some food at the sunset bar and it was fresh and well prepared.
The rooms are a steal compared to most others in the area for the amenities provided.
