Second time staying in this hotel, will never stay here again due to the fact the way we were treated by management. Upon arrival we were paying for our room in cash. There was a big Que. They took out a money counting machine in front of everybody which is understandable if it worked. Some of the notes they had to put them through 4-5 times before the machine would accept them. There machine would only take 1 note at a time and was spitting some notes out and making very loud beep when not accepting some notes landing on the floor in front of other people checking in. In the end they told us that €500 of the money was not legitimate in front of a lot of other guests checking into the hotel we had just got them from currency exchange at the airport. We then gave them notes that we had just taken from an ATM they proceeded to put them through the machine along with the other notes that were already checked. Bearing in mind that there were a lot of other guests checking in at the time. The money machine they had looked like something out of the 1980s. Had celotape on parts holding it together. Facility’s are lovely and loved every part of the hotel. After the machine a accepted the money they brought out a more senior lady to count it and then a more senior man to count it again. Second time staying here and have recommended people to stay here but never again. I have several businesses myself and I would never treat any customer how the management treated us.

From the moment we walked into reception exhausted from the early flight the staff were brilliant.
Our room was very clean and tidy.
The rooftop restaurant menu was first rate and bar was very enjoyable and recommended.

It’s a very solid hotel. Beautiful and well kept, superior to most others in the area that we passed by. The breakfast was really complete and very good. The bars had an extensive menu and were well priced. The gym was complete but very very hot had the A/C isn’t very good and the doors kept on being left open, even by the staff. Overall I found it a bit understaffed and not very customer centric. Our room was at the very edge of the main building and the WiFi simply didn’t work there, after some back and forth they offered to change rooms on the following day. Upon the time of the change, I suggested that we would leave our already packed luggage in the room and they could move it so we wouldn’t have to bring it up and down, which the hotel didn’t accommodate and acted like my request was something very out of the ordinary. Additionally, both our rooms’ a/c wasn’t very strong or easy to use. We’d get to the room and it would always be pretty hot and take a while to cool down

Just returned from a 10 day stay in Hotel Monsuau. It is situated in the Cala Ferrera area of Cala D’Or with some restaurants and bars located 6/7 stoll away. From there, it is another 10 minute walk to centre of Cala D’Or.
It is a nice adults only hotel, and I would stay again but there were areas I thought the hotel could improve on.
Pool - once per week, they had a “pool party” with foam. It was cool, but a bit excessive. Then the other 6 days, nothing. Not even music. Some poolside background music would be a nice addition.
Gym - the gym is very well equipped with some cardio and resistance machines, and free weights that go up to 22kg. However, no water tank provided in the gym. And the air con doesn’t really work, and people don’t know how to turn it on. Changing these things would improve the experience.
Breakfast is beautiful, with a nice selection. The man making the omelettes is not the most friendly however. Some background music at breakfast would be nice too.
Overall, i would give this hotel 4/5 and falls just short of the 5 star experience for the reasons outlined above.

Disappointed and Misled – Not the Serene Getaway We Were Promised
They also accused us of damage (making a hole in the wall) which is absolute rubbish after we left a review on another website.
We booked Hotel Monsuau in Cala d'Or with the expectation of a quiet, relaxing retreat. Unfortunately, our experience was far from the peaceful escape the hotel markets itself to be.
The most frustrating issue was the rooftop bar, which played loud music until midnight on three of our seven nights. This was not just background music — it was loud enough to disturb our sleep and completely shattered the atmosphere of tranquility the hotel claims to offer. We raised our concerns with the hotel manager, whose response was both dismissive and unhelpful. Incredibly, we were told we could check out and find alternative accommodation — with only two nights left in our stay. This is not the kind of response you expect from a hotel that claims to care about guest experience.
Even staff at the front desk agreed the noise was an issue, but admitted there was nothing they could do to change it. This reinforced our sense that the hotel prioritises its party atmosphere over the comfort of its guests seeking rest.
Adding to the disappointment, the hotel was actively promoting itself on Instagram as a “serene getaway” while hosting a foam party with blaring poolside music. The disconnect between the hotel's branding and the actual guest experience is misleading at best and feels like a deliberate misrepresentation.
We had hoped for a relaxing, peaceful holiday, but instead found ourselves dealing with unwanted noise and a management team unwilling to take responsibility. If you’re looking for serenity, we would strongly recommend staying elsewhere.
