Wonderful Hotel
We stayed at the hotel for 7 nights at the end of July. After reading some negative reviews before our trip, we were a little worried, but those concerns turned out to be completely unnecessary.
We had paid extra for the Favourite Club, and we definitely didn’t regret it. It gives you access to the Fancy Pool area. Although the pool area itself is not very large, it is cosy and relaxing. Families with children are welcome there. The bar and restaurant by the Fancy Pool are excellent, with delicious food and cocktails.
Our family of four was accommodated in the Wave block, while my brother stayed in the Palm block. The rooms were spacious, and we had a huge terrace.
The hotel grounds are large, so even when the hotel is busy, it never feels overcrowded. There are three main pools, plus an additional one if you have access to the Favourite Club.
The Sky block is quite far from everything else. We only went there for dinner, and honestly, neither the block itself nor its surrounding area appealed to us.
There were always plenty of sunbeds by the pools, so there was no need for people to wake up at 6am to reserve them with towels.
The entertainment programme was enjoyable, and the evening shows were very good. The animation team worked incredibly hard and did a fantastic job.
The beach is no more than a five-minute walk away.

We came back from this hotel yesterday after a 5-night stay, and overall, we had a really lovely experience.
We stayed in the Sky building and had a large, clean room that was perfect for our family with two young children. The room had a beautiful view and, most importantly for us, it was very quiet, so the kids could sleep peacefully.
The food was absolutely fantastic! 😍 I had read some mixed reviews before coming and was a little worried, but honestly, we were very impressed. Breakfast had a huge variety of hot and cold options, pastries, different cheeses, cold meats and plenty more, so there was definitely something for everyone.
Dinner was also excellent. There was a pasta and pizza section every evening, as well as lots of salads, cheeses and different types of bacon. On top of that, there were several different dishes added each night, so there was always something new to try. Everything was fresh, tasty and regularly replenished.
The entertainment was another highlight. There were activities throughout the day for different age groups, and the kids’ mini club in the evenings was a big hit with my children. They even learned the “Chu Chu Wa” song during our stay! 😂
The beach is only about a 5-minute walk from the hotel. It’s a beautiful sandy beach, great for children to play and suitable for swimming for all ages.
The biggest downside for me was the drinking water. With temperatures around 32°C in September, I really think free drinking water should be easily available throughout the hotel. Instead, we had to pay for bottled water, and we spent around £50 on water during our 5-night stay. This was quite disappointing, especially in such hot weather.
The other negative point was the housekeeping. The shampoo and body wash containers in our bathroom were empty and weren’t refilled even after we requested the room to be cleaned. The floor also wasn’t vacuumed or mopped — the bed was simply made and the pillows arranged. I found this disappointing and definitely think the housekeeping service could be improved.
Despite these issues, we really enjoyed our stay. The food, entertainment, room, location and beach were all excellent. With better housekeeping and free access to drinking water, this hotel could be even better.
Overall, we had a great family holiday and would happily recommend it. ❤️

I have some notes on this hotel but overall amazing! Animation team was so so sweet and very enthousiastic. Normally I don’t participate in activities but the team really motivated almost everyone in the hotel to dance and sing in the evening but also play games in the pool!! Thank you 🙏
Enough places to sit around, sun and swim in several pools. Beautiful water and always clean.
The food was flavorful, especially lunch. Cocktails where meh, and they don’t give straws which is one of the only notes I have on this hotel.

Unfortunately, our stay was a huge disappointment from beginning to end. From the moment we checked in until we checked out, nothing went smoothly, and we never felt welcomed or valued as guests.
The check-in process was disorganized and frustrating, and the issues continued throughout our stay. The level of service was poor, staff were unhelpful, and the overall experience fell far below what we expected. To make matters worse, an alarm went off in our room every single night, repeatedly disturbing our sleep and making it impossible to properly rest. Despite this ongoing issue, it was never resolved satisfactorily.
Instead of enjoying our vacation, we found ourselves constantly dealing with unnecessary problems. By the time we checked out, we were simply relieved to leave.
This hotel did not meet even basic expectations for hospitality, and based on our experience, we would not recommend it to anyone looking for a pleasant and relaxing stay. We hope the management takes guest feedback seriously and makes significant improvements because, unfortunately, our experience was one of the worst we’ve had.

I recently stayed at Alua Calvia and was absolutely delighted. The quality of service, food, and overall comfort here far exceeds the hotel's official rating — you can feel it in every detail.
A special shoutout goes to the team: the staff is incredibly well-coordinated, professional, and genuinely attentive to the guests. The cuisine is beyond praise! Both breakfasts and dinners were amazing, incredibly delicious, and featured a great variety of choices every day.
I stayed as a guest of My Favorite Club and it was worth every penny. The level of service in the club rooms was flawless, and the club lounge itself was absolutely wonderful with a fantastic atmosphere. I have stayed at other Alua properties before, but this one is hands down the absolute best. I will definitely be back. Highly recommended!
