I stayed 7 nights for work and had a great experience overall. The location is a huge highlight, it’s easy to get to/from the airport, and the property is basically a small resort “village” with lots of onsite shopping and restaurants, so everything you need is right there.
I stayed in the Rainbow Tower and loved it. My room felt recently remodeled, had plenty of space, and the view was fantastic, I could see the water and the luau. I also appreciated the smart little touches (like extra hanging hooks around the mirror), which made it easy to stay organized during a longer stay.
Check-in was a bit hectic with a big wave of guests arriving at the same time from flights, but it still ran fairly smoothly and the staff were consistently kind and friendly.
Food and drink options were solid, ranging from waterfront casual to more upscale. I definitely recommend stopping by the nicer spot in the Rainbow Tower for a drink, they made a delicious cocktail. Also: two Starbucks onsite is a win. I didn’t make it to the gym since it’s in a different building, but there’s a wonderful running path right outside the resort, which was perfect.
If you’re Hilton Diamond, the resort credits were a nice bonus and helped offset costs.
Only real downside: the shower. The shower itself is actually great (perfect size, nice features like a lower bar that’s super helpful for shaving, space for toiletries, and you can easily reach your towels), but the hot water took a while to kick in, especially once the resort got busier toward the weekend.
I’d absolutely stay here again, especially for the location and the Rainbow Tower experience.

This is a very nice hotel. Our rooms in the Rainbow Tower (lagoon view) were recently renovated and were beautifully decorated and super clean. Larger than most hotel rooms, plenty of space. Lots of places to eat nearby and ABC store on site. I’m not sure if we would stay here again, not because it is bad but it is really expensive. We knew this going into it and wanted to stay at a place on the beach for 4 days of our 8 day vacation. Spent the first 4 days at a hotel off the beach that was more economical, fewer amenities and far fewer people. It is worth staying here (or somewhere on the beach) at least once to see if you like it. The huge plus is just walking out to the beach. The pools are freezing. The restaurants onsite are crazy expensive ($120 for family of 4 for breakfast). It is a very busy place. Rooms were quiet but the resort areas are always busy. Hot tubs are full of little kids. Live music available at restaurants and Hawaii 5-0 was filmed here. I still can’t decide if it was worth the cost.

Sure! Here's a glowing review for Tropics Bar and Grill at Hilton Hawaiian Village:

### 🌺 Review of Tropics Bar and Grill 🌺
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Tropics Bar and Grill during my stay at Hilton Hawaiian Village, and I can confidently say it was an incredible experience!
Our server, Lisa, was an absolute gem. From the moment we arrived, she greeted us with a smile and genuine warmth, making us feel right at home. Her attention to detail and knowledge of the menu truly enhanced our dining experience.
We decided to try the Steak and Eggs and the Loco Moco, and wow, they did not disappoint! The Steak and Eggs were cooked to perfection, juicy, and bursting with flavor. The Loco Moco was a delightful blend of textures and tastes, making it a perfect comfort food choice. Both dishes were beautifully presented and served at just the right temperature.
The service was impeccable throughout our visit. Our drinks were always full, and Lisa checked in regularly to ensure everything was perfect without being intrusive.
We also enjoyed the ambiance of the restaurant, with its beautiful views and soothing atmosphere that truly captured the essence of Hawaii.
All in all, if you’re looking for a fantastic dining experience with great food, excellent service, and minimal wait times, I highly recommend Tropics Bar and Grill. Thank you, Lisa, for making our visit amazing.

The Location:
We chose this resort for its convenient location.
Proximity: It feels closer to the airport than deep Waikiki, and the surrounding village offers a safe walking area with plenty of food options nearby.
Atmosphere: It is a massive "Village" concept—very popular for families, but works for couples too if you want everything in one place.
The Diamond Experience (Room & Upgrade):
As a Diamond Member, I inquired about a suite upgrade but declined the paid offer ($249+).
The Upgrade: I received a complimentary upgrade to an Ocean View (Rainbow Tower, Lagoon View) on the 27th floor.
The Room: The room was fully renovated and the views were stunning. The 5 elevators were fast, handling the crowds well.
Design Flaw: However, the bathroom had a strange layout issue. The body lotion was hidden behind the mirror, making it not easy to reach or even find at first.
Amenities & Service (The Downsides):
For a high-end resort, the amenities felt lacking.
Missing Basics: There were no slippers or bathrobes provided. Housekeeping even mentioned that sometimes they don't even have toothbrushes.
The Water Bottle Hassle: To get your complimentary bottled water, you have to physically visit the concierge and show your Diamond membership rather than having it in the room.
Parking: Be prepared for Self-parking at $68/night.
Verdict:
The renovated Rainbow Tower rooms are nice, but the weird design choices, high parking fees, and the hassle to get basic amenities take away from the luxury experience.

I genuinely enjoyed the ease and layout of this hotel. The beach access was excellent, and it was very easy to get back to our room from anywhere on the property. Dining options were good overall. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were delicious. The layout of the resort is wonderful, and I especially loved the charm of the village area.
Our room was newly renovated and had a gorgeous view of both the lagoon and the ocean, which we truly appreciated. My family and I had a great time and are glad we chose to stay here.
That said, cleanliness was a major issue throughout our stay. There was hair on the bathroom floor when we first checked into our room. The pools were frequently closed due to water levels being out of range, and they were also unheated. Garbage was left around the pool area for days at a time, and the public bathrooms around the hotel were consistently very dirty. Also, the hotel was consistently out of towels for the pool / beach.
Overall, we had a wonderful time and genuinely enjoyed our stay. However, due to the cleanliness concerns, I don’t think we would return in the future.
