We try to stay somewhere different every time we visit WDW, but this is a repeat resort (for a reason). It can use some updating, but everything else makes up for it. All cast member interactions we had were welcoming and happy. There are so many activities where you can learn about animals, and African art and culture. The food is great (hello Boma breakfast)! I know people want to stay on the monorail or skyliner, but the buses were just fine. We never had to wait long at all. The rooms are all inside - which is a plus on the hot summer days. We had a resort view room, but were still able to see some of the savanna and animals from our balcony. The resort has such a peaceful vibe. It doesn't get too crowded and there are so many areas to explore and relax. The work they do with the animals and the environment is incredible and makes me so happy. We love it so much and can't wait to get back!

A one night family stay in the Deluxe Studio at Jambo House ended up being the highlight of our entire Disney World vacation.
Reading reviews about waking up to animals outside your balcony is one thing, but experiencing it yourself is something completely different. We stayed on the second floor, and it was perfect for getting an up-close view of the animals. They were active when we checked in, again in the evening, and early the next morning. Even after dark, once our eyes adjusted, we could still watch them moving around the savanna. It was an unforgettable experience for both the adults and our kids.
Our room was clean, comfortable, and quiet once the balcony door was closed. The pools were excellent, and every Cast Member we encountered was friendly, professional, and genuinely welcoming.
The resort also does a fantastic job of keeping kids engaged with activities throughout the day. Our children's favorite parts were watching the animals from our room and spending time in the incredible main lobby, which had comfortable seating, beautiful African-inspired décor, and kid-friendly activities. Even having Bluey playing on the TV made it feel like a relaxing place to unwind after a busy park day.
If your family loves animals, I can't recommend Animal Kingdom Lodge enough. Even if you're only able to stay one night like we did, it's absolutely worth the experience and created memories we'll never forget.

My three adult kids and I stayed at Animal Kingdom Lodge. Our experience and stay were wonderful. The rooms were spacious and clean, and our location was perfect. The restaurants were outstanding, and all the cast members were very friendly and courteous. We already booked a vacation for next year and can't wait.

Overall, we had an amazing Disney trip and truly enjoyed our stay. The staff was kind and helpful throughout. The only small issue we experienced was with check-in. We arrived early and asked if it might be possible to accommodate an earlier room for me and my elderly mother. We completely understood it wasn’t guaranteed and patiently waited past the 3 PM check-in time, but by around 3:35 our room still wasn’t ready. After expressing our concern, the staff quickly resolved it by providing us with another room, which we appreciated. Aside from that, everything else was wonderful and we had a great experience overall.

10/10 experience at the Animal Kingdom Lodge! Truly the best 2 days for a staycation. We stayed at the Jambo House with club level and it was such a treat.
The resort is beautiful (the lobby is picture perfect) and we didn’t even leave our entire stay. We utilized both pools, kid splash area, and hot tubs. Experienced the string of memories with adding a new bead after each experience. The savanna view room was breathtaking. There was a cast member who was out feeding the animals and stopped to answer everyone’s questions that were on their balcony overlooking the animals!
Club level was an amazing experience as well. The food was delicious, and although the resort has some amazing restaurants we only ate at the quick serve one time. The experience was very thought out with the sweetest of details, including being welcomed with a box of Safari chocolate from The Ganachery.
Highly recommend staying at the AK Lodge for your next Disney stay!
