Ignore people with bad reviews HONESTLY BOOK IT. Its amazing!!! Fantastic location with lovely views over the marina – perfect for dinner, drinks, and sunbathing.
The rooms are basic, but they’re clean and have everything you need. You’re not spending all day in them anyway, so they do the job perfectly.
The staff are incredibly friendly and work so hard. I’d read reviews saying the hotel mainly caters for French and German guests rather than English people, but that wasn’t our experience at all. The animation team made a real effort to include us, and we never felt singled out or left out.
The food was incredible, with plenty of choice for everyone. The desserts were absolutely to die for! The pools were lovely too. The snack bar served burgers, nuggets, pizza, sandwiches and more throughout the day, plus drinks on tap and three all-inclusive cocktails.
Overall, it’s such a gorgeous hotel. I honestly don’t understand some of the negative reviews because I’d happily go back tomorrow! Yes, the pools and showers use salt water, but so what? It’s really not the end of the world.

The location of the hotel was great, the staff were lovely, and the hotel itself was very clean. Unfortunately, the food was a big disappointment. Most meals were cold, and as a vegetarian there were very few suitable options available. At both lunch and dinner, I was mainly limited to chips and pizza every day. We paid for an all-inclusive stay, but ended up having to eat out in the evenings so that I could have a proper meal. Overall, while the hotel had some positives, the food experience really let it down.

Most bad reviews are people just picking apart small aspects of the hotel, it's clearly stated as a 3 star hotel, so if you expect 5 star service and experience book a 5 star hotel.
The location is beautiful with the restaurant overlooking the marina, really enjoyed the view over breakfast especially. There is a shuttle that goes to the beaches and the centre of Cala D'Or, but we didn't use it as it's only about a 20 minute walk and there's plenty of beaches about.
The rooms are like mini apartments and are modern and well maintained, fresh towels and beds are made each day.
Reception was really lovely and helpful at check in. You get information about meal times, entertainment and other bits and a map to explain how to get to your room. Yes there are lots of stairs about, but on Jet2 booking at the bottom of the hotel information it clearly states that it's not ideal for those with mobility issues.
Good for couples, and very popular among families, seemed like there was a lot of entertainment for kids.
The only let down was the food was not very hot all of the time, but there's plenty of choice, even for picky eaters and if you're really unhappy there's plenty of restaurants about.

Food is awful, drinks are disgusting, only one cocktail included on the all inclusive. The fruit juices taste awful and the soda machines are half soda water most the time. Rooms are awful and broken and they’ll come and “fix” it with random screws. Staff are unfriendly except the entertainment staff who are lovely. The shuttle bus is great because at least then you can get out of the hotel. Dinners are bland and boring and cold. Would not stay again

This hotel is situated centrally within the marina with great views from the bar area. There is a free shuttle bus and a little train that can transport you around for a small fee.
The room was spacious, more like a little villa than a hotel room as we had a living area, bedroom and bathroom, as well as a balcony. The room was clean overall but the bathroom floor was quite dirty and we noticed a few woodlice most days. The bathroom facilities were generally good but our shower did not work properly; it was difficult to adjust the water temperature/pressure and there was a tap/button that had clearly broken so it was impossible to switch from the rainfall shower to the smaller spray nozzle.
There is air conditioning in the room but it isn't very strong. Luckily we came in April so it wasn't too bad. Something to note here is that the tap water is salty so not drinkable, so you need to buy bottled water nearby. The plastic cups provided are disposable and crack easily so perhaps bring your own cups if you can. We noticed you can buy packs of plastic cups from the Spar 5 mins down the road.
One morning we woke up to find that our balcony chairs were gone - they had been 'borrowed' by a group of young adults who seemed to be having a gathering outside our room. The chairs were returned but this did raise concerns regarding privacy and security. There was also a lot of construction noise from a project ongoing nearby but this was mainly in the daytime and did not disturb our sleep.
The food in the restaurant is good and varied. You do see some repetition especially at evening mealtimes, but we found it to be tasty and pretty standard for an all inclusive resort. The food was rarely hot and often lukewarm so we did stay away from the seafood options. It's worth mentioning that only certain drinks are included in the all inclusive price, and additional payment is required for a lot of bar drinks, especially cocktails. The hot drinks machines were switched off in the evening. Also - this is probably just a personal issue of mine but if you struggle with that 'wet dog' dishwasher smell, then you will struggle in the restaurant here.
Accessibility wise - every part of this resort is separated by stairs, and lifts are only present in certain areas. It would be difficult to navigate this place with a pram, wheelchair or injury. That said, this isn't necessarily the fault of the hotel but just something that comes with staying in such a hilly location.
Staff were polite and friendly, especially those round the pool/bar areas and those clearing tables at mealtimes. We might return again in the future if we visited Cala D'or. For the price paid I would say the stay overall was good.
