My stay at Cascade Wellness Resort was exceptional from start to finish. The resort's cliffside location overlooking the Atlantic Ocean is simply breathtaking, with spectacular views around every corner. Whether enjoying a morning coffee, taking a walk along the nearby coastal trails, or relaxing by the pool, the scenery never gets old.
One of the highlights was the breakfast buffet. The selection was extensive and high quality, and I especially enjoyed sitting on the outdoor patio each morning watching the birds while taking in the peaceful atmosphere.
The main pool is spacious, relaxing, and never felt overcrowded. The Lighthouse Bar provided a great option for drinks and light bites with beautiful views, and I appreciated having excellent espresso available both in the room and throughout the resort.
The reception staff were consistently friendly, professional, and helpful with recommendations and transportation assistance. The location strikes a wonderful balance between tranquility and accessibility. It's about a 30-minute walk to Old Town Lagos and roughly 15 minutes on foot to Antonio's seaside restaurant, with countless opportunities for scenic morning walks along the cliffs and coastline.
For wellness-focused travelers, the outdoor yoga hut, on-site spa, fitness facilities, and wellness amenities make it easy to unwind and recharge.
If you're looking for a peaceful Algarve retreat with incredible ocean views, wellness amenities, excellent service, and easy access to Lagos, Cascade Wellness Resort is a fantastic choice. I would happily stay here again.

I was really looking forward to staying here but it’s been a little disappointing so far (I still have two days left here). I’m going to list out the positives and then the negatives.
Positives:
- the staff is kind and prompt, they helped us change rooms once we raised concerns.
- the food is gluten free friendly, some good vegan options at the restaurant
- walking distance to the beautiful beach
- really beautiful views and access to nature and walking paths.
- easy access to towels and lots of pools
- close to town center
- good breakfast buffet (but not too many vegan options)
Negatives:
1) first, our room’s privacy screen between the toilet and living room was completely see-through (aka you could sit on the bed and see someone use the toilet). When we complained on the phone that first night, we were told there was nothing that could be done about it. But we happened to pass by other open rooms the next day and saw that they all had opaque screens!! We took photos and requested something be done about our room and then we were given a better room.
2) The room is uncomfortably cold and the temperature can’t be brought up by us. They said they would send maintenance 2 days ago but, they haven’t been here yet. So when we are in the room I have to get under the blanket.
3) third and most frustrating, there is constant issues with the water. Today the water stopped running and we couldn’t use our bathroom for a few hours. Also we have had, at best, only slightly tepid water during our stay here. As of today it’s running cool room temp water on the hottest setting. We’ve been told the last two days that maintenance will come and take a look, but so far nothing has been done. Today I took a shower and couldn’t bear how chilly the water was. I’ve been waiting to take a hot bath in the tub because of how cold the rooms are, so we specifically asked if I could take a hot bath elsewhere in this 5 star wellness resort, I was told “yes”, only to be escorted to just a shower, not a bath, which again had very tepid water. Then I was also told one of their boilers isnt working? Either way, I came out of my shower today colder than when I went in.
To be clear, I don’t blame the people working here, I’m sure they’re working with what they’ve got. But also we came here to relax and have a 5 star experience so at the end of the day this has been just overall an uncomfortable stay so far. If you are someone who doesn’t mind a cold shower, this review doesn’t apply and there’s a good amount of positives. But if you are someone who likes to be warm or wants consistently hot water (a low bar for any hotel imo, let alone 5 star hotel), maybe this isn’t the best place.
Happy to edit this if they do anything about the water.

It’s a great place to spend a holiday with family. For me, breakfast is the highlight of any hotel stay, and it’s often one of the main reasons I choose a particular hotel. Because this hotel is in Portugal, I was expecting excellent local food and bread. While the breakfast offers a wide range of options — including vegan, vegetarian, and everything in between — I was slightly disappointed with the bread selection. Given the location, I expected to see traditional breads such as pão alentejano, which would have made the breakfast experience much better.
That said, the staff truly make up for it. They are incredibly friendly, helpful, and always available when needed. Their attitude and service were outstanding.
The rooms are very clean, and the property offers several pools to enjoy. There are also a number of pleasant walking routes nearby, and it’s about a 19-minute walk into Lagos.
I gave four stars for the room mainly because the electrical switch panel inside the room produces a low-frequency hum. It wasn’t loud enough to prevent me from sleeping, but it’s noticeable and could benefit from a better solution.
Aside from that, I really enjoyed my stay.

We had the best time and a very positive experience. Such a great location. You are less than 5min drive from the restaurants area. 5min away from nice beach areas.
The hotel is just by the Ponta da Piedade wooden paths, you can walk around a lot nearby the hotel.
Room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. The view and direct access to the pool was great. The spa heater pool and jacuzzi were a good treat as well.
Breakfast was amazing, lots of good stuff, the omelette made on the fly was really good. Would come back for sure.
Gym was great too, very well equipped.

We had a very pleasant stay at this hotel in Portugal and would like to share our experience.
One of the highlights is definitely the location of the hotel, which is excellent and very convenient. The pool area and the overall hotel complex are beautifully maintained and create a relaxing atmosphere. The breakfast buffet was also very good, offering a wide variety of options to start the day.
What truly stood out to us, however, was the exceptional friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. Every single team member we encountered was incredibly attentive and genuinely committed to making our stay as enjoyable as possible. We have rarely experienced such outstanding service anywhere else.
During our stay, we unfortunately had an issue with noise coming from the air conditioning system on the roof, which affected us for three days. We even had to move to a different room for one night. However, the hotel handled the situation very professionally. The staff made every effort to resolve the problem quickly and ensure our comfort, and as a kind gesture, we received a dining voucher from the hotel.
The rooms themselves are slightly worn but still functional and well-equipped. We especially appreciated the daily provision of two fresh bottles of water and the regular replenishment of coffee capsules.
In summary, despite the minor inconvenience with the air conditioning, we had a wonderful stay. The outstanding service and beautiful surroundings made a lasting impression, and we would gladly recommend this hotel to others.
