We had a lovely stay at the Catalonia Oro Negro. The service was fabulous, and the staff genuinely couldn’t do enough for you. Everyone was friendly, helpful and welcoming, which really made our stay enjoyable.
We stayed in a Deluxe Room, which was lovely and comfortable. The air conditioning was great, and we were lucky enough to have a lovely view of the sea.
The only area we would rate lower is the food, which we would give 3/5. The selection could be quite repetitive, and unfortunately some of the food was labelled incorrectly, which was a concern.
For example, there was a vegetable paella that actually contained cod. We also asked a member of staff whether the sushi was vegetarian and were told that it was, only to discover that it contained crab. This could be particularly concerning for guests with allergies or dietary requirements, so we feel this is something the hotel could improve.
Another issue during our stay was the sunbed situation around the pool. There are clearly displayed signs stating that sunbeds should not be reserved with towels, yet people were still regularly leaving towels on sunbeds to reserve them. It was frustrating to see this happening when the rule was clearly stated, and we feel the hotel could do more to enforce its own policy.
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. The fantastic staff, lovely room, great air conditioning and sea view were definite highlights.

Had a fantastic week at the hotel. Food was plentiful and there was a varied choice. Entertainment was great and the staff were amazing. In reasonable walking distance from 4 beaches. Only downside was that we had one of the older rooms which needed some TLC to the floors and bathroom. We only had one electric socket in the room for 3 people and a rather disappointing view of the apartments next door.

My advice is to find another hotel if you have specific health or accessibility needs. We booked two standard rooms with bathtubs for medical reasons, but upon arrival, we were given two tiny rooms (half the size) with only showers.
The hotel staff showed no flexibility and simply said they were 'full.' If you are looking for a hotel that honors its reservations and cares about its guests' health requirements, look elsewhere. There are many other hotels in the area that are more reliable and professional.

Excellent hotel with great facilities.
Upon arrival, got upgraded to one of the best rooms for free. This room was very modern and stylish, with a good view of the pool area and the seafront.
Not too far for all the nightlife if your into that. Could not hear nightlife from the room which was good.
Great selection at breakfast and dinner with it being restocked often. Nuno and Anna were great at looking after us during breakfast and dinner.
Overall, 100% would stay here again

We would like to thank Mrs. Belem for her amazing service and kindness throughout our stay. She was always smiling, welcoming us warmly every day and making us feel truly special. She remembered us, which made every interaction even more personal and lovely. We could always talk with her, laugh together, and feel comfortable around her. Thanks to her positive energy and caring attitude, we were genuinely very happy. She is truly wonderful!
