We recently stayed at Serenity Alpha Beach in Hurghada and had a fantastic experience. We booked a Club Executive Room which was lovely and spacious, with a gorgeous pool and sea view. The entire resort is spotless — the grounds are constantly being cleaned — and despite its huge size, we never once struggled to find a sunbed.
Food-wise, there’s great variety, with fresh BBQ options and delicious cakes each day. We tried the Chinese, Moroccan and Italian à la carte restaurants and all were beautiful. There’s a good selection of cocktails and the local spirits were absolutely fine, though the Infinity Bar serves the better premium drinks. Snorkelling in the sea is a must — the marine life is incredible. We also booked a quad bike tour with Remal Safari just outside the hotel, which was great fun.
The only downside was that the main pool was freezing, so we didn’t brave it most days, but the other pools were perfectly fine. Evenings were relaxed — the animation shows were okay, but we preferred sitting by the main bar enjoying the live music each night. Do make sure you get a “Do Not Disturb” sign for around the pool, as the sales people can be a bit persistent.
A massive thank you to the amazing staff who made our stay even better: Alaa and Mahmoud at the bar, Mr Sheriff the hotel manager, El Hussain our brilliant restaurant waiter, and the fantastic animation team — G, Coco, Hesham, Ellie and Caitlin. Also a big shout-out to Mahamad, who kept our room (3138) spotless. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful; we tipped little and often and it was clearly appreciated.
We also did an afternoon excursion of Hurghada with MTS which was a great experience to see how the locals live and hear more about the city, would highly recommend!
Overall, a wonderful stay and we’d happily return

We had a wonderful time at the resort – everything was great, and we truly enjoyed our stay. The place isn’t brand new, so naturally, some areas and room features show a bit of age, but it didn’t take away from the experience. The staff were absolutely fantastic – always friendly, helpful, and hardworking. It was clear, though, that many of them were working long hours and probably not getting the recognition or pay they truly deserve. Overall, a lovely stay in a charming setting.

Pros:
-very lovely property well maintained
-Staff extremely friendly and try to be helpful in spite of language barrier
-All inclusive if you like your beer and wine or liquor
-food and water are safe to eat and drink. Ice included. The hotel really keeps good standards to make sure guests do not get “Delhi Belly”! So feel safe eating at the resort.
-grounds are just lovely and so well maintained
-all the chairs and loungers are in good working order with plenty of umbrellas and loungers at the hotel beachfront
-many large pools including adult only pools
-ample food choices at the buffet restaurants
-great resort for the working class and retired Germans since one price covers everything from lodgings, food and drink.
Staff were always trying to be friendly and helpful if they could. I used my Google Translate several times English to Arabic and it worked fine if language was a barrier.
Staff worked so hard to keep customers happy and the grounds looking beautiful. It is an Oasis in the desert.
Snorkeling right off the waterfront pier is quite good for seeing fish and the staff are smart enough to know to throw bread into the water when people get in to snorkel to draw fish. Beautiful clear blue waters everywhere.
Cons:
Because the hotel caters to an European audience, primarily German, everyone is smoking. Only the indoor restaurants and lobby are smoke free. Then again that is most places in the world outside of California.
-The cooked food is flavorless and meats are over cooked making them dry and chewy.
-AC barely worked in the room but since we picked a time of year that it was not blistering hot so we managed.
-Forget any stable WiFi except in the lobby. So make sure you have a good data plan.
-The speciality restaurants food is not much different than the food served in the main dining halls. We tried one and canceled the rest as the food seemed to be the same.
Overall it was a very nice and relaxing resort. I would recommend it for a week of just being lazy. While the food was disappointing for our tastebuds and the WiFi sucked, I would recommend it to anyone who needs a break and wants to just chill.

Hotel is absolutely great value. Could not fault it. Rooms always kept clean. Always find something for my children at the buffet restaurant (picky eaters) plus burger pizza and chips at snack bar. Quiet hotel and secluded so will need taxi to get about and explore. Shop on site bit on the pricey side for snacks etc.

From arrival to departure, everything was focused on guest satisfaction, and I sincerely thank the whole team for their warm hospitality.
The hotel is beautifully located on the southern side of Makadi Bay with access to stunning coral reefs. From the pier, you can easily snorkel among incredible corals and colorful fish—an unforgettable experience. We also joined a diving trip and an excursion to Orange Bay, both highly recommended.
The buffet and à la carte restaurants offered a wide variety of food, and the evening entertainment by the pool was great fun. The whole stay was pure serenity.
