We are currently staying at Desert Rose and this is already our 4th time here – and honestly, we keep coming back because it truly feels like a happy place for us. The staff are incredibly kind and always willing to help, and the cleanliness of the rooms is excellent – our room 6239 is spotless. Compared to previous years, the excursion sellers are now much less persistent, which makes everything so much more relaxing.
The renovations have been done beautifully, and even though the hotel is still undergoing some upgrades, you really don’t feel it at all as a guest. The lobby coffee is simply amazing – one of our daily little joys here.
And we have to mention the Christmas Gala – it was absolutely grand, opulent and truly spectacular, something you don’t get to see very often. It really impressed us.
This year we found a Desert Rose that has changed… and definitely for the better. We have always loved this hotel, but now we love it even more. Highly recommended!

This was my fourth time in Egypt and my second stay at Desert Rose Resort, and once again everything was absolutely perfect.
The cleanliness is impeccable – not only in the rooms, but throughout the entire resort. The beach is beautiful, with a lagoon that is ideal for children, while adults who enjoy more active swimming will also find plenty of space and opportunities.
It feels like there are countless pools, spread over large areas, so it is always easy to find free sunbeds. Each pool has its own theme – a kids’ pool, a quiet pool, a pool with a swim-up bar, and an aqua park. During the day, there are plenty of organized activities you can join if you wish.
Food is available everywhere, and it is slightly better than in other hotels in Egypt where I have stayed. However, what truly sets this hotel apart from all others is the staff. Their kindness, willingness to help, and genuine dedication to guests are exceptional. They would go to the ends of the earth to make your stay even better – such level of care is very rare.
We had a small misunderstanding regarding the New Year’s Eve celebration, as we were told at reception that no reservation was needed, but at the entrance it turned out that it was required. The issue was resolved in less than five minutes, and we ended up having an amazing New Year’s Eve – an evening so wonderful that I can hardly find the words to describe it. Everyone makes mistakes, but what truly distinguishes this hotel is how quickly and efficiently they correct them.
If you are considering where to stay in Egypt, whether with your family or friends, trust me – Desert Rose is the right choice.

Very nice resort and I have enjoyed my vacation here very much.
Food
Food was ok. Not great, not terrible. I was missing a bit more options of meat without bones for convenience. No chicken breasts served at the main restaurant. I think also of choice of just rice or just potatoes would be nice. Currently, they were mostly served already mixed up with something (e.g. tomato sauce, curry, etc). I loved the healthy bar for roasted vegetables.
Coffee was hit or miss, depends on the bar. The kiosks to book the special dinner were simply terrible. No way to avoid those.
The biggest miss is the 1h gap in serving food. On multiple days we had tours leaving between 6.30-7.15. the packaged breakfast is available only 4-6 and standard is served from 7am. They do not offer the pickup of the packaged breakfast after 6, so if the tours start like ours, you will leave hungry. I don't understand why they don't allow pick up if these until 8 at the reception.
Room
We booked the older Club Suite. The room was clean, just the furniture and overall impressions showed it's age. What I did not like was the 15 minute way for the warm water. Note, these rooms have unreliable wifi (and overall, it kept disconnecting me all over the resort). The access to the see was perfect, our room was on the ground floor. What was also confusing was the cleaning schedule. On one of the days we were out of our room for 4 hours just waiting for the clean to happen, despite the tag "clean my room".
Resort
The resort offered safe beach (nets protect from wildlife), beautiful bars. Plenty of staff to help with any problem. Even camel Rides on site. The shows were quite good. I enjoyed the singing party, not that much the light show.

This is our first time at Desert Rose Resort. Stayed for 13 nights from beginning of December. Our room is really nice and very clean. The cleaner is lovely, does the room every day really well and so polite.
The entertainment team are really friendly, done lots of things with the team, we did a sunset desert tour with Mohamed Ali which was free and got some great pictures. Been to all the restaurants and all are lively.
The staff are all greT, everyone so polite and friendly, will be back next year for Xmas & new year.

The main areas of the resort is beautiful, such as the pools and the lobby. However the food is terrible, lacks variety and lacks flavour. The wait staff in the restaurants are rude and not very helpful.
The staff around the rooms are very polite and helpful. The guard outside our rooms was very friendly and pleasant.
The a la carte restaurants: Del Mar, the staff are rude and the food is terrible. Fatoosh, the staff are really friendly and warm and welcoming and the food is fantastic from starters to dessert, we loved it.
The rooms claim to be upgraded but they are definitely not anything close to what a 5 star should be. It’s actually very badly maintained. We had two rooms and at some point, both rooms had no hot water. We had cold to lukewarm showers. That is unacceptable for a 5 star.
Overall the only thing 5 star about this resort is the lobby. It’s actually very deceiving because you expect the same quality throughout.
The resort realistically should be a 3 star at best. From service, to food and to the facilities.
