Our stay at this hotel was really nice! It is a great location with amazing views out onto the ocean. Only a 15 max taxi ride to all the popular hotels spots and restaurants that Mykonos has to offer. The staff were really friendly and helpful.
The breakfast buffets was delicious with loads of sweet and savoury options to choose from. Freshly squeezed orange juice and freshly cooked eggs and pancakes!
The towel system they use around the pool definitely needs improving but the pool area itself and sunbeds are very luxurious.
The room had everything it needed and was nice and clean.
The hotel gets a nice sunset in the evening which is an added bonus

Unfortunately I have to give them 1 star for my second stay with them. Let it be known that the first time I visited Saint John was a magnificent stay, how is it possible that in a span of a year the quality has been degraded to this point ?
I stayed with my girlfriend and we had a terrible experience with the managers of this hotel. Their Tennis Court are in a terrible state, and no wonder, they have no rules whatsoever and guests can play even if they are wet, barefooted, etc… To top it all up, you can’t even do a reservation of the court in advance even through the concierge… What a waste and disregard for our time.
After this incident, the manager was extremely rude with my girlfriend and literally followed us all the way to the reception when he saw that we wanted to make a complaint. Then he said that the general manager would call us so that we could express our concerns and unfortunately we kept waiting. He must have told the staff after this because we could clearly see that they started treating us differently after this, and not in a good way. Not even a single apology after that.
Be advised, we stayed in one of their best rooms and their staff intruded in our room a total of 3 times. How can they possibly think that this is acceptable, and even keep doing it after we’ve told them that it happened ? It’s a total violation of privacy and mainly lets us think that we’re not really safe in there…
I love Mykonos and the essence of this 5 star hotel leaves me with a bitter taste because I really appreciated the first time we went there.
I really do hope they can improve and fast because their installations, for the most part are worthy of a 5 star hotel, I cannot say the same for all of the staff…
Sincerely,
Will

As a travel influencer, I returned to St. John Hotel in Mykonos in July 2025 for a second stay, expecting the exceptional service of my first visit. Instead, I encountered a shocking decline in quality, making this so-called 5-star hotel a complete disappointment. I strongly advise against staying here.
The staff’s attitude fell far short of 5-star standards. A sales and PR manager was outright rude, lacking basic communication skills and blaming guests for issues instead of resolving them. Housekeeping was neglectful—dirty dishes, not even ours, were left outside our room for over 24 hours despite repeated complaints. I have photos to prove this unacceptable oversight.
Most disturbing was the disregard for privacy. On two occasions, staff entered our room without permission. First, two employees opened the door and left without explanation. On checkout day, a staff member checking the minibar barged in, ignoring the clear “Do Not Disturb” sign, and left without apologizing. As a female guest, I felt deeply uncomfortable in my own expensive room. Imagine the embarrassment if I had been in a private moment, like stepping out of the shower.
Additionally, some staff spoke only Greek, with limited English proficiency, making communication difficult for international guests. This is inexcusable for a luxury hotel catering to global travelers. When I requested to speak with the general manager, I was told he was busy and would call, but no follow-up occurred. Staff hesitated to provide their names, suggesting awareness of their unprofessional conduct.
My first stay at St. John was exceptional, which makes this experience all the more disappointing. Mykonos offers countless luxury hotels with professional staff who respect guests’ privacy and deliver true hospitality. Save your money and avoid St. John Hotel—it’s a 5-star facade that fails to deliver. I’ve reported this to platforms like Booking.com and Kayak, as no compensation was offered for my ruined holiday. I had high hopes, but this was a regrettable mistake.

The hotel itself is beautiful, perfect location, clean, good food but the only thing that lets it down is the staff, they are lovely but sooooo slow and not attentive to guests at all, this makes this hotel feel a lot less than 5 star. Had to get up and ask for hot drink every single day at breakfast, luggage took an hour to come up to me on my first night so I ended up not going out on the evening, breeze pool restaurant very slow, such a shame but otherwise incredible hotel

Absolutely Exceptional Stay!
Our experience was flawless from start to finish. The service was impeccable, the rooms were beautifully designed with stunning views, and the atmosphere was both luxurious and relaxing. Every detail was thoughtfully curated. We can’t wait to return highly recommended!
