We have just returned from a 7 day break at Royal Lagoons. Myself, my wife and our 4 children aged 8, 9, 13 and 14. We were so worried after reading some horrible reviews in the run up to our break but we truly had the best holiday.
Rooms- we had two rooms 'Superior pool view' they were clean, modern and functional. Perfectly cool air conditioning. Beautiful views across the pools and gardens
Food - We found the food to be up to the usual 'All inclusive standard' not exceptional but enjoyable and we all had more than enough to choose from.
Drinks - Yes, the local spirits are horrible but this is Egypt. If you like spirits' bring your own from duty free and take with you they really do not mind. The soft drinks and beer are all absolutely fine. We also had Ice all week which is made with filtered and sterilised water and did not have any gastrointestinal upset!
Staff - friendly, professional and welcoming. We gave some small tips on day one and we're treated like royalty. They all work so hard to make your stay enjoyable. We were also pleased to be able to extend our check out time as we did not leave the hotel until 7pm. Reception were happy to help with this.
Entertainment - kids club daily (ours did not join in but it looks like the other children were enjoying themselves) other than that we just enjoyed the peace and quiet whilst our children explored the grounds and played football!
Pools - The main pool was a little slimey (likely from the amount of people in there and the swim up bar) the slides were great fun but we spent the majority of the time in the pool just as you come out of the lobby. This was perfect for our family and very clean
Beach - this was a little disappointing, generally run down and a little neglected. Could do with a good clean up but we visited a few islands and enjoyed the beaches and the sea elsewhere.
Overall. This hotel was perfect for us as a large family. Clean, fun, relaxing atmosphere and generally good food even for fussy eaters.
We had such a great time we have booked again for next year and are already looking forward to coming back.

My stay at this hotel was very disappointing due to the poor attitude and unprofessional behavior of some of the staff. We had a sick child with us, and when we went to get food for her, we were told that food could not be taken outside the restaurant. There was no understanding or compassion for our situation, despite explaining that the food was for a sick child. I expected much better customer service and hospitality from this hotel. Unfortunately, the experience was far below expectations, and I hope the management improves both customer service and the way guests are treated.

Loved the hotel so much really nice amazing animation team was super . Food was good I was worried about reviews about food and drinks but they was good had grill options pizza normal offers for a 5 star hotel . You get what you pay for breakfast options are amazing huge option . Juices are free included only extra is the fresh juice which is a company not the hotels juice . So it’s all good .
Rooms we had a villa room was not outdated I loved it was amazing and spacious . We also arrived earlier and was allowed to check in at 10 am which I found amazing . Perfect hotel . Pools amazing beach is good .
Only fault I had to say is guest relation caused me issues . Before booking my trip I expained im British and my situation and was told something completely different to what happened and was charged extra when arrived and was told it has nothing to do with guest relation but I said no it’s their job to inform guests of all info and check in policy as I work in guest relation so I know what is needed and she did not help at all if she informed me instead I would’ve. Come prepared instead a huge hassle occurred instead jasmine guest relation appalling instead of helping caused issues the only issue on the hotel was this
The receptions waet helped me in the situation and was good staff amazing animation perfect hotel lovely would definitely come again

I think a lot of the reviews are unfair. This place is not expensive and you get what you pay for. The rooms need upgrading yes, but everywhere is very clean, the food is good and varied every day, always pasta, potatoes, salad etc if you are a fussy eater. The staff have all been fantastic except the guy who showed us our rooms. Reception is good, quick to check in, helpful, provide a really good packed lunch if you need one. The staff do not insist on tips but are grateful if you do tip. Local alcohol is not amazing, but the price of the holiday is low so I do not think you can complain, and you can pay extra for branded if you like. There are bars you have to pay extra to get into, but most you don't. Be careful booking tours within the hotel, we had a mixed experience, one (orange bay) was wonderful, the other (the pyramids) was the worst trip ever. My advice would be, if you want to see the pyramids, either fly or take a private tour. I think if you want a good hotel that is clean and has a nice pool area, you cannot go wrong here. If you expect a kings holiday, for a cheap price, expect to be disappointed. We certainly were not.

The resort it self is okay, you have to walk around the whole resort on your first day to know there are hidden sections (Gym/Turkish Bath etc). There are about “3-4 slides” which is there “aqua” park. The workers are amazing and will always try be helpful - rooms are cleaned daily and there are always cleaners about. It feels a bit outdated compare to other resorts i have stayed at in Hurghada. I came out of the peak period and therefore there was works going on and not many evening shows. The food was the biggest downfall, it was very repetitive and bland. They don’t have any nice “snack bars” however this could be because it was off season as there were sections where you can see they would usually do food. The drinks selection is also not as extensive as other places I stayed at. Also, when in the sports bar or the shesha area you have to pay extra regardless of being all inclusive. The resort is also secluded and there are not many shops or any food places near by. Also no beach, however there is a hotel bus that goes every 15 minutes (free of charge) Would I come again? Probably not to this place.
