Updated review — the Old Palace deserves better than my original rating.
I initially left a lower review due to a spa experience, but I've since learned the spa is operated by a separate company and is being replaced in the coming weeks. That's not the hotel's fault, and they shouldn't carry that score.
The food was delicious — genuinely better than what I've had at large resorts in Greece or elsewhere. When Chef Mahmoud learned about my celiac disease, he took special care to make sure I was looked after. That kind of attention matters and it doesn't happen at most places. Mahmoud and the front kitchen staff, the room cleaners, the gardeners — the staff as a whole were friendly, professional, and genuinely welcoming. There's a warmth here in how the team treats people, accommodating and respectful, even when some guests don't return the favor.
At the end of the day, a resort is its people. The rest is just a building and upsell services, and those shouldn't carry the same weight as the team that actually makes your stay what it is. It's a big operation and nothing runs perfectly every moment, but the dedication here is real.
Beautiful location, clean sandy beach in Sahl Hasheesh, and a team that genuinely cares. Thank you to everyone who made our stay memorable.

We had an amazing experience at Old Palace Resort Sahl Hasheesh, especially thanks to the animation team. The animators were always energetic, friendly, and made every day fun for both adults and children. There were many activities during the day and great evening shows that created a wonderful atmosphere in the hotel.
A special thank you goes to Chico, the animation manager. He is extremely professional, kind, and always treats both the animators and hotel guests with respect and care. You can really see that he cares about everyone’s feelings and works hard to make sure people are happy and comfortable. He is always smiling, positive, and ready to help with anything. His leadership makes the whole animation team feel organized, motivated, and welcoming.
Thank you to the whole team for making our holiday unforgettable. We would definitely love to come back again!

The hotel is very beautiful, the service in the hotel is excellent, everyone wants to help you and does not impose anything. The beach is very beautiful and the sea too. The beach bar is excellent and the guys, the bartenders are the best even though they work non-stop. The beach guys are also excellent, they try to help. The best is Khaled.
