I give this hotel one star but belive me, if I could I will give it a minus billion stars. And here is why. First, I gotta tell you Im in a hostility bussines for over a 25 years. I understand all the sides of the work, so I never complain about anything, even when we are not sattisfied about everything. Me and my wife are good guests, good tippers, they love us everywhere we ever been.
We have a three year old boy, who is a very good boy always except when he is tired. We traveled at night by plane so we came here in two in the morning. Ofcourse, he was kranky, we have problems to keep him calm all day, becouse we are not type of parents who let him do whatever he wants. About six o clock in the evening we sat in the hotel lobby to have a coffe when he had a temper tantrum attack. It lasted about 2 minutes when this guy came and start yelling at us very harshly. First we thought its that old game when he is playing a bad guy so the kid will be scared and then calm down. I almost thank him, but no, he was deadly serious. He insited he will stop, like he is a robot and I have switch off button for him. He start yelling at us to stop immediately or he will throw us out, he will call police, this is his hotel, its not a children hotel and stuff like that. And then I flip and start yelling at him that we are guests, that we pay good money to be there and try to explain that kid is small, that he cant understand what he is doing. But no, guy was worse and worse, yelling, even cursing at me, at my wife, even at my child. Belive me, and I got to say that too, he was so rude that if I wasnt in the foreign country with a wife and a little kid , I will fight him right on the spot. He was that rude. And guess what, that is a head menager of the hotel. Thru the years in bussines, Ive seen many menagers and stuff chefs on some heavy power trips but this was on the whole new level. I never felt so embarrest in my life, all the other guests are looking at us, it was terrible. He did not want to stop, so we leave the place and call our agency to change hotel. They could not find us anything and tell us they will try it in the morning. I didnt go to the diner that night, my wife and child were crying whole night. I was furious, still I dont believe what happen that night. In the morning when we went for a breakfast one of the guests approach us, tell us he saw the whole situation and recorded it on his phone. I was relief becouse i had proof now what happend, otherwise it will be my word against his, so we decided to stay in the hotel. I didnt wanna ruin the rest of the holliday for me and my family and decided to chill and see what happend. Ofcourse, nothing happened, we saw the guy in the hollway once, he was giving me that prison look. I started laughing, now that I have whole thing on video. I am thinking to sue the guy but we will see, I realy dont have time and money for that type of stuff. But, believe me, dont go there, they dont like you, they dont like your kids. They need to learn from people in Egypt, Turkey, Greece what hostility bussines is. Here is just a few seconds of that video, just to see Im not lying, the guy in white pants is a menager. What a sad, evil man. Exept that, hotel is not five stars, every four star hotel is luxury hotel for this place, just dont go there. It get five star rating in 1972. when it was open, I guess they didnt buy new towels and sheets since then. I can tell you lot of other stuff but I think this is enough.

🛎️ Check-in and Accommodation
We arrived quite early, and we were pleasantly surprised that the hotel allowed early check-in — a big plus, especially after a night flight. The room was spacious, clean, and everything worked properly. Housekeeping was done daily, both in the room and throughout the hotel and beach areas, which gave a nice feeling of cleanliness and care.
A small downside was that some towels had old stains, although they were still clean and usable. A deposit is required for beach towels, but it’s refunded upon return — the system works smoothly. The room also had a free safe, which is a great advantage compared to many lower-star hotels where this service is paid.
🍽️ Food and Dining
The restaurant staff left a very positive impression — service was excellent, 5 out of 5. The team is friendly, attentive, and quick to respond to any requests. The dining area is always clean and well-maintained.
As for the food itself, it was somewhat limited in variety. For a 5-star hotel, we expected a bit more diversity — many dishes were repeated daily at lunch and dinner. However, the food was always fresh, tasty, and nicely prepared. Fruits and desserts were available every day, and the drinks were standard for an all-inclusive package.
It’s worth noting that by the end of the season, not all snack bars were open, so it wasn’t always possible to grab something between main meals.
🏖️ Beach and Sea
The beach is one of the main advantages of this hotel. It’s wide, clean, and sandy, with an easy entrance to the sea. Cleaning is done daily, so there’s almost no litter or cigarette butts. The sea is crystal clear, and there were no jellyfish, which is a big plus compared to some nearby hotels. Sunbeds are comfortable, and there are enough for everyone, even during peak hours. The overall atmosphere is calm and relaxing.
🎾 Entertainment and Activities
The hotel offers billiards, bowling, mini golf, and tennis — however, all of these activities are paid, which is a bit disappointing for a 5-star resort. It would be nice if at least some of them, like tennis or billiards, were free of charge.
As for the animation, it was quite weak. It was clear that the season was coming to an end, and the animators seemed less motivated. Many of the listed activities were either postponed or didn’t happen at all. Their lack of enthusiasm slightly affected the overall impression, although it’s likely better earlier in the season.
🚕 Location and Surroundings
The hotel has a convenient location — it takes about 1–1.5 hours to walk along the beach to the city center, or you can get there by taxi for 10–12 dinars. There are some shops and cafés nearby, so you can easily go out without any trouble.
We highly recommend visiting the local market on Friday after 9 AM — it’s a colorful and lively place where you can buy souvenirs, spices, clothes, and local treats at good prices.
💬 Overall Impression
Overall, our stay at Nord Palace Hotel was very pleasant. The atmosphere is peaceful, the sea is beautiful, the beach is well-kept, and the restaurant staff is professional and friendly. There are a few minor downsides — repetitive meals, paid entertainment, and weak animation at the end of the season — but none of them spoiled our overall experience.
👉 We recommend this hotel for couples or families looking for a calm and comfortable beach vacation with a clean sea and relaxing environment.

For a 5-star hotel, the rooms are really bad. There is a door in my room that leads to the next room. So you can hear everything that happens in the next room. The hotel always has some events during the day for children and adults. Mostly there is loud music with which you follow the animators and dance. In the evening there is a show from 20 - 23 and the music is always the same in the style of children's techno music. So if you are looking for a room with a view of the sea, you will get one with a view of the stage. The food is not bad, it's the same for the 14 days I've been here. As for the beach, you will have to get up in the morning before 7 am to fight for a place with a deck chair. Here they expect a tip and it may happen that if you don't leave, they won't bring you towels and toilet paper. Yes, and most importantly, you can get a very bad room, but it's good that you can ask to change it with a tip, of course, or without.

Definitely not 5 star. Will give it a 3. The room are old. Hair all over especially in the bathroom. The staff are friendly. The Spa is good. Food was ok not the best and always warm never hot. PLEASE NOTE IT IS 2.5hrs transfer from the airport to the hotel .

We stayed at Nour Palace in Mahdia, and unfortunately, it was a complete disaster. On the first day, the room we were given was dirty, full of ants, and had a balcony view blocked by two olive trees—you couldn’t see anything beyond them. They moved us to another room, but the rooms are not soundproof at all. As a result, we barely slept for six nights because of a neighbor who snored extremely loudly.
The restaurant was even worse: the food is mediocre, 85–95% repetitive with only one or two different dishes. When they serve grilled fish or meat, it’s often undercooked, with raw parts inside. On top of that, the dishes completely lack flavor, creativity, and are not enjoyable. Even the croissants at breakfast are mostly dry and not fresh. The service is nonexistent: the waiters don’t even look at you or offer anything, not even water. Without a tip, you will likely be ignored. Every meal, I had to go to the waiter myself and wait a long time just for a glass of water. Despite multiple complaints, nothing changed.
The pools and beach were equally disappointing. You can’t get a sunbed or lounge chair without discreetly paying the lifeguard or pool staff. If you ask normally, they’ll say none are available, all “reserved.” But if you slip them money, suddenly a spot appears—it felt like a black-market system within the hotel.
The only positive aspect of this stay was the lady at the reception: she was welcoming, professional, and had a big smile, which contrasted with the rest of the service.
Overall, this stay was a huge disappointment, and we absolutely do not recommend this hotel.
