Overall, we had a lovely family holiday and definitely came home rested ❤️ But there were some good and not-so-good things.
🏨 Hotel: The hotel itself and the grounds were very clean and well maintained. Our family room was lovely, with a beautiful balcony/sea view. The pools were great, the beach was very close and there were always sunbeds available.
👩🍳 Staff: Honestly, one of the best things about the hotel! Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. The bar staff actually came to serve you at your sunbed/table, which was amazing — no need to keep walking to the bar. Tips were definitely expected, though!
🍽️ Food: This was probably our biggest disappointment. The buffet was quite small for such a large hotel, the food wasn’t particularly attractive and a lot of it was very oily. Even getting an omelette meant standing in a queue 😅 We never went hungry, but compared with some other holidays, the food could definitely be better.
🎭 Entertainment: Unfortunately, not really our thing. We found the evening shows quite boring and underwhelming. But entertainment team staff was very friendly tried they best.
🚐 Transfer: Almost 3 hours from the airport 😩 and the journey through the towns was quite a shock — lots of rubbish and unpleasant smells. Because of the heat, we also didn’t really feel like going out exploring.
🏍️ We did go quad biking, which was great fun!
🌡️ One thing to mention — the temperature difference between the air-conditioned room and the outside heat was HUGE. My son had some stomach problems during the holiday and I ended up with a runny nose, sore throat and headache. Could have been the AC, the change of climate or simply a virus — who knows!
✨ Overall: We enjoyed our holiday, especially the hotel, pools, beach, room and amazing staff.
Would we come back to this hotel? I don't think so. Would we choose Tunisia again? Probably not our first choice.
But hey… no cockroaches, so that’s already a win! 😂🪳❌

Just came back from a 2 week stay at the iberostar Royal el mansour. The hotel outdid all our expectations in every area. The food was delicious with a huge variety daily. The staff were always super friendly and helpful, always with a smile. The highlight was definitely the amazing entertainment team who went above and beyond to keep everyone entertained and involved in the fun activities. They were all incredible and a special shout out to Leo, Samir and Pika with whom we created a special bond. Thank you for making our holiday extra special. We will definitely be back.

The animation team was fantastic — always active and engaging, keeping the energy up throughout the day. Service was excellent as well, and I appreciated that the staff treated everyone equally, whether Tunisian guests or foreign tourists — no difference in how we were welcomed or served.
The room itself was spacious and comfortable, though the view faced the street rather than the sea/pool area. Not a dealbreaker, but worth knowing in advance if a view matters to you.
Overall, a solid experience thanks to the animation and service quality.

We had an amazing stay overall, and a huge part of it was thanks to the entertainment team! Every day they brought incredible energy, positivity, and fun activities for everyone. From games by the pool to evening shows, they made the atmosphere lively and enjoyable for both adults and kids. The team was always friendly, welcoming, and full of enthusiasm, and they truly made our vacation more enjoyable.
However, there were also some disappointing aspects regarding cleanliness and hygiene. I noticed that the dishes and glasses often did not seem properly cleaned. One time I ordered a mint tea and the glass still had lipstick marks on it. I also saw that the glasses at the outdoor bar were being washed by hand instead of in a dishwasher with high temperatures for proper sanitization. Many things simply did not feel as clean as they should have been for a hotel of this standard.
I believe the hotel should pay much more attention to hygiene and cleanliness, as this is extremely important for guests’ comfort and health. During our stay, I even developed a cold sore, which made me even more concerned about the hygiene standards.
The entertainment team truly deserves praise, but improving cleanliness would make the overall experience much better.

I can wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to families with children. The food is absolutely fantastic, with a huge variety of delicious dishes that cater to both adults and kids. The hotel is impeccably clean—every corner is maintained to the highest standard, making the entire stay feel comfortable and relaxing.
What truly sets this place apart is the incredible range of activities for children. There are countless entertainment options throughout the day, ensuring that kids are always engaged, having fun, and creating unforgettable memories. The animation team is outstanding—energetic, professional, and genuinely caring. They do an amazing job keeping both children and adults entertained.
The staff are exceptionally kind, friendly, and always willing to help with a smile, making guests feel welcome from the moment they arrive.
And the beach? Simply breathtaking. Crystal-clear water, beautiful sand, and stunning views create the perfect setting for a dream vacation.
Overall, this hotel exceeds expectations in every aspect and is an excellent choice for families looking for outstanding food, top-notch service, endless activities for children, and a truly beautiful beachfront experience. Highly recommended!
