Absolutely disgusting hotel never ever have I experienced anything like it when staying in a hotel . I wouldnt recommend it to anybody. Miserable receptionists. On arrival they demand 200 euros deposit. When leaving we only received half of it back. Two pools far away from one another. One part of the hotel looked more like a prison. Food Absolutely disgusting 🤮. Drinks terrible. Entertainment wasn't bad . This hotel is not close to the new or old town. Everything up hill. Not many sun lounges pools very dirty. Snack bar food very poor. Tasteless. Dry tasteless bread . Cockroaches in the room in the bathroom also. Cracked tiles. Toilet very loose. Floors very slippery. Beach was lovely. Spent most my days wondering what to eat. Same food everyday. Very dissatisfied.

Don't believe all the negative reviews. We spent 3 nights here all inclusive last week, and have to say the hotel was in a perfect location, right on the beach, a short walk along the beach and your at the old town. The buffet food had a good variety, and we enjoyed all the food we ate there. The cocktails of the day went down a treat. Yes I have to agree the rooms are a little dated.. we were in C block, on level one, so approaching our room looked dark and a little unwelcoming, but the room its self was bright and welcoming, with daily cleaning and fresh towels every 2 days. The added bonus of a balcony and sea view. All in all for a 3 star budget hotel, I think we got good value for money and we would return again. I have also seen some comments on the slow return of the damage deposit... we checked out at 3.30am and it was back on my card by that evening, so I could not complain at that.

We were extremely unhappy with our stay at Monica Isabel Beach Club. The photos on the booking website looked lovely, but when we entered our room, we were very disappointed. The room was not what we expected at all.
The bath was yellow in colour for some reason, with visible cracks, and we had to be careful not to hurt ourselves. The window was also cracked, and the sliding door in our ground floor room was broken, creating a serious security concern as it could easily be opened from outside. When we reported this to reception, someone came to show us how to “lock” the door however, it could still be opened from the outside afterwards.
The food was very poor and not enjoyable. For the amount we paid, the overall experience did not feel worth it at all.
We also paid a £150 deposit, but only £80 was refunded without any explanation, meaning we have lost £70 with no clear reason given.
The location was lovely but overall the hotel itself was extremely disappointing and not somewhere we would return to or recommend.

Hotel Monica Isabel met all our expectations. In addition to the fact that the Algarve coast offers beautiful nature, long clean beaches, we chose this hotel for accommodation also due to the price and the services offered for this price. The hotel is older and I would like to thank everyone again for taking care of the building, it is not easy, the area is large and yet it is clean and quiet. Minor shortcomings - sometimes you have to wait longer for the elevator, sometimes you have a noisy neighbor who sings in the morning. :). Maybe the bars could be open earlier so that we could enjoy excellent coffee and drinks on the terrace at the reception or by the pool. The hotel has an excellent location, just a few meters from the beautiful beach. You can get to the beach by a wooden bench - steps. The beach is clean, and what you will appreciate - on the top floor of the hotel there is a restaurant with a beautiful view of the beach and the city. We were very satisfied with the food, in the bars too. The food was varied, the staff and the chefs should be commended for the exceptionally pleasant moments during the meal. I am not the type of traveler who looks for faults, I would certainly find them here too. On the contrary, I will write that I thank the hotel management and all the staff from the bottom of my heart for the wonderful moments I was able to experience on the Algarve coast and at the Monica Isabel Hotel. I wish you many satisfied guests, keep up the quality of the food and the view of the ocean. I would be happy to come back to you. Ivetka.

Rooms could do with a slight upgrade, but other than that it was amazing. Great food and drinks, with plenty to offer. Very friendly staff and superb amenities. I just wished I'd booked longer than 10 days.
