Honestly, Alvorférias Club is an absolute banger of a place if you want to skip those soul-crushing, sterile concrete hotels. It’s got this super chill, old-school Portuguese village vibe that instantly puts you in a relaxed mood.
The layout is brilliant—just low-rise villas instead of one massive, boring building. Our apartment was surprisingly huge, and the kitchenette actually had proper gear, which was a total lifesaver for cooking up some fresh local seafood instead of dealing with crowded breakfast buffets every single morning.
Location is spot on. It’s tucked away just enough so you can actually get some quiet, solid sleep, but it’s still just a short, easy walk down to the famous Alvor boardwalk and those insane cliffs at the beach.
The pool area is massive and kept clean as hell—perfect for just zoning out when the ocean breeze gets a bit too wild. And the staff? Zero corporate bullshit. Just genuine, laid-back local hospitality. They instantly hooked us up with pointers on the best non-touristy marisqueiras in town. For the price, this place is a steal. Definitely coming back.

Glad we never listened to the reviews as we loved it here our apartment was lovely and spacious we booked a 3 bedroom one nice and quiet at the other side of the complex. Only downside was the other pool wasn't open as out of season. Shop on site and everything a 15 minute walk away lovely area. Loved the cocktails 🍸 great if you need the extra space close to supermarket too 😀

We stayed at Alvorferias Club Apartment as a family of five (two adults and three small kids), and our 3‑bedroom apartment was massive. The rooms were spacious, the kitchen was large and modern, and we had two bathrooms with two toilets, a huge living area, and three balconies. The AC worked well in all rooms, and the large windows gave us beautiful views. The whole place felt very secure and peaceful — we didn’t hear any noise from neighbours at all.
The apartment was spotless on arrival. Room service came once during our week‑long stay, but there was a brush and mop available, which was handy. The kitchen was extremely well equipped, and both the TV and WiFi worked perfectly. Honestly, the apartment could comfortably accommodate up to eight people. We were also given plenty of clean towels and lots of toilet paper, which was appreciated.
Although it’s rated as 3‑star accommodation, it truly exceeded our expectations.
The pool area was lovely — a shallow pool for kids and a deeper one for adults. We visited in April, so the water was a bit chilly, but it will be perfect in summer. There were lots of sun loungers and umbrellas, and the poolside café bar had a nice selection of reasonably priced drinks and snacks. We self‑catered, so I can’t comment on the restaurant food.
There’s a small supermarket attached to the building, open 7–7, and it had everything we needed. Staff throughout the property were genuinely friendly and always happy to help.
Our kids absolutely loved the kids club. They were so well looked after by a lovely local girl named Laura — a real highlight for them.
The location is great, close to everything. If you don’t feel like walking, Uber rides around Alvor cost only about €4 — cheap, fast, and reliable. The whole town of Alvor is beautiful, clean, and welcoming. Public transport is easy to use, and the people are polite and friendly.
We will definitely be back.

Clean , staff very friendly good pool but the worst most uncomfortable bed and sofa, I would sleep better on the hard floor and the same with the sofas

Rooms are kinda big and basic. But sleeping in the bed is like sleep on concrete floors. You dont get fresh towels until after the first week. So if you're staying there for a week, make sure you bring extra towels. Cleaners also dont come to clean the apartment until after the 1st week.
The pool is nice but you have to be out there at exactly 9am to get a sunlounger otherwise you will not get one for the day.
Restaurant is overpriced. 48euro for 2 lasagne, 2 drinks and 3 portions of fries. Fries came out early before the lasagne and the lasagne came out 15 minutes later, which was stone cold in the middle in both lasagnas. So the lasagnas were obviously frozen before being cooked. Same as the pizza. The workers are very nice though.
