A honest review from a married couple in our 40’s, sitting on the balcony currently writing this review!! This place is what you make it and what you pay for. It’s in my opinion not for families with young children in peak season, or anyone that finds it hard to get back to sleep! There’s many young groups having a good time and with that comes noise. There’s been no trouble at all. The staff here have been very nice and polite. The pool was a little too busy for us so we used the neighbouring hotels pool which was nice and quieter. Prices are cheap everywhere you go, Fat Cats bar across the road was the best place ever! They also have a more family friendly pool. Room is okay, needs modernising but it’s was clean enough. Cleaners very nice and work hard. Aircon is excellent. Carpet in hallway of hotel is grim! lol. Location is excellent. Next time I think we will stay closer to the old town as the strip isn’t really where I want to be. But it was nice to be in the middle of both to explore. Deposit. They do take a deposit of £300 cash either euros or pounds. They send you a message to let you know before you stay. Can you blame them with all the groups. There’s plenty of cash points around if you need to get cash out. Love Portugal and love Albufeira. People so nice weather just perfect. I have also used the massage services and she is awesome, Daisy I wish I could take her home. She really helped me with my achy old joints! Highly recommended.

I would not recommend staying at Luna Hotel da Oura.
Upon arrival, we were greeted by a member of staff at reception, but no information was provided regarding the hotel's amenities or facilities. When it came time to check into our room, the receptionist was unsure whether we had already been given a room key, which resulted in a 20-minute delay before the issue was resolved.
Once we finally entered the room, we checked the information booklet and discovered that our room did not have a telephone, despite one being listed. We later had to request that a phone be installed. In addition, our key cards stopped working on four separate occasions during our stay, which was extremely frustrating.
The biggest issue was the noise. The hotel was incredibly loud throughout our stay. We made several complaints to reception and staff even visited the rooms responsible for the disturbance, yet nothing seemed to change. As a result, we barely slept, which affected our health and caused one member of our party to cut their holiday short and return home early.
The atmosphere in the hotel was also disappointing. The bar closed early, there was no entertainment, and the bar itself was very quiet, with no music or television available.
The one positive aspect of our stay was the hotel manager, who was lovely, professional, and genuinely helpful. They took the time to explain what facilities were available and arranged for a telephone to be placed in our room.
Unfortunately, despite the manager's efforts, the overall experience was very poor due to the lack of organisation, repeated key card issues, excessive noise, and lack of facilities. I would not stay here again.

Where do I begin.
We arrived at the hotel and were greeted by an extremely rude reception staff. After attempting to book in the said we needed to pay a €300 deposit in CASH in case of any damages or if any towels go missing. This had completely ruined our experience as that was nearly all of our spending money for food/drinks for the few days we were there. This made us extremely uncomfortable though out the stay as we were worried that there will be an issue and they will keep the money. They made us sign a form complying or we were not allowed to stay.
Then we arrived to our room and were greeted with cockroach on our sink and an extremely dated design. The shower was inconsistent going from hot to cold every couple of seconds. The door to the balcony was hard to open and again we were worried this was going to break and lose our deposit.
On positive is the cleaners were very friendly and efficient.
And lastly if you still decide to stay DO NOT GET BREAKFAST. It was the most disgusting breakfast I have ever had. Sausages were horrific, bacon was just burnt spam. Eggs were slimy the fruit tasted slightly furry. We ended up only eating here once and went to a local bar for breakfast.
I will add, upon check out they were very efficient checking the room and quickly gave us the money back.
Overall we were all extremely disappointed, first time in Portugal and the town was gorgeous. Such a shame that this hotel muffled our experience. The reception staff need to adopt the same attitude as the cleaners and waiters.

I am writing to express my disappointment regarding my recent stay at your hotel. Considering that this is advertised as a 4-star hotel, the overall experience was far below expectations.
Firstly, the reception staff provided inconsistent information, which created confusion throughout our stay. In general, we also found the staff to be unfriendly and not particularly welcoming.
Secondly, the breakfast experience was disappointing. We expected a breakfast that reflected the local culture and cuisine, rather than one mainly adapted to English breakfast preferences.
In addition, I believe that pool towels should be provided free of charge, especially in a hotel of this category.
Although the rooms were clean and well organised, they appeared outdated and lacked modern conveniences, such as sufficient sockets or charging facilities for electronic devices.
Overall, the service and facilities did not meet the standards expected from a 4-star hotel. I hope you will take this feedback seriously and make improvements for future guests.

We stayed here for 3 nights in March 2026. Lobby was very nice looking, beautiful water feature. We were initially impressed. Found the room to be very dated. The kitchenette had dishes and pans. They only provided 1 dish towel, no sponge or dish soap. Bathroom was dated as well. The toiletries provided was a pump bottled of liquid soap in the tub/shower attached to the wall, while at the sink there was a pump bottle of body / hair wash also attached to the wall. So if you wanted shampoo ypu had to exit the shower to obtain the product. We had to request twice to have them switch them around. Although, I suspect it was the same product in both bottles. Laundry washer and dryer are available, coins are obtained from reception at cost of $5 Euros each to wash and dry. Located on a busy street. Lots of bars nearby if that is your scene. We tried to ask the staff what was near by to walk to and they just gave us brochures for tours, not really helpful. Also, they do not provide coffee, tea or any such thing nor a coffee maker. They do provide an electric kettle.
