Our Stay at Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter
The Room & Location
One of the highlights for me was that our room was Tiana themed, which was extra special as The Princess and the Frog is my favourite Disney film! We were also staying in Block 5, which was in a fantastic location. We were just seconds away from the food court and pool, and only about a minute’s walk from the bus stop. It made getting around the resort incredibly convenient.
Our room was cleaned every other day as expected, and the cleaners/domestic team were absolutely amazing. They were so friendly and did a fantastic job. We also ordered a few extra items through the Alexa, and they were delivered to our door within around 10 minutes such incredible service! I honestly wish we had tipped more because the service was brilliant.
Scat Cat Lounge was absolutely amazing. The service, staff, music and overall atmosphere were incredible. It had such a great vibe and was definitely one of the highlights of our stay. We really enjoyed spending time there.
Food Court
The staff at the food court were very helpful and friendly, and service was quick in most areas. The only exception was the pizza section, which seemed noticeably slower than the rest.
Pool Area
The biggest downside for us was the pool area. We had a lot of problems with wasps constantly attacking our drinks, which really wasn't enjoyable and made it difficult to relax.
The pool was also extremely busy during our stay, It felt much busier than we expected for a resort of this size. What surprised us most was that we had family staying in one of the larger Disney resorts during our stay and their pool areas seemed noticeably quieter, with plenty of available seating, despite those hotels having far more rooms and guests, we also noticed this in other bigger resorts. We wondered whether some guests were visiting the resort for Scat Cat Lounge or the beignets and then spending time around the pool, and not actually staying at Port Orleans French Quarter. Of course, we can't say for certain, but it certainly felt that way at times. It was the busiest we have ever seen in the pool area. I really hope this was just a one off issue and that we were simply unlucky during our stay.

We had a great stay at Port Orleans French quarter. The staff was helpful and kind, the rooms were updated and clean, and we enjoyed the food. It's a smaller resort, which means some things are "missing" (ex, more restaurants), but the trade off is a resort that's quieter and easier to navigate.
Our only "complaint" was housekeeping. Disney had adopted a reduced housekeeping schedule where your room is cleaned on days 3, 5, and 7. I dont love this, but particularly because we were missed on day 3. Could we have called for things like towels and trash service? Yes. Should I have to call for that at a hotel that's around $300/night? No. I understand an attempt to cut costs by reducing housekeeping, but it made our stay less enjoyable and made it feel more like an average hotel or an AirBnB and less like Disney.
That aside, it's a great hotel with great staff.

This resort has such a special feeling to it! It is small, which is why we chose it. We had previously stayed at Port Orleans Riverside, which we also loved, but were hoping to have less walking to and from the dining hall and pools. This resort accomplished that for us! It is somehow both family oriented and appropriate for adults traveling without children. The pool was beautiful and never crowded, and we loved the beignets on site. The staff was always extremely polite and helpful also. They have a laundry facility on site, which came in handy! 10/10 would recommend!

Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter was absolutely wonderful! The resort is beautifully themed, peaceful, and full of charm. From the relaxing atmosphere to the gorgeous landscaping and jazz-inspired details, everything felt magical and welcoming.
The rooms were clean and comfortable, the staff was incredibly friendly, and transportation to the parks was easy and convenient. We especially loved the smaller size of the resort because everything was close by and never felt crowded. The boat ride to Disney Springs was such a fun bonus, and the Mickey beignets were amazing!
This resort has the perfect mix of Disney magic and relaxing Southern charm. We had an incredible stay and cannot wait to come back!

Port Orleans - French Quarter is my favorite Disney resort! Our family has been vacationing at POFQ since 2022, and it is consistently our favorite. It is not a deluxe resort, but it has more amenities than the value resorts. It’s a perfect middle ground. And we absolutely adore the Mardi Gras theming. It’s upbeat, colorful, and jazzy. You just have to be happy when you’re there, it’s impossible not to be. The impeccable standards of Disney service can be found throughout the resort, and the beignets are yet another reason to stay.
