On the whole I was very happy with my stay. Food was good and staff were largely friendly and helpful with the odd exception. The room was very spacious but dated. The TV didnt have english channels and had poor reception and was very old 720p. I could connect my xbox to it via hdmi however the wifi was not stable or fast enough to stream video or game online. Aircon was very powerful but loud. There was heavy noise from the hotel next door on most nights 10pm-12pm making sleep impossible due to the bass vibrations which defeat any earplugs. Bed itself was hard, which I prefer. Outside the hotel there is nothing anywhere for tourists, even on a one day bus tour we drove 200 miles but the quality of the destinations was extremely poor as it is basically just desert and olive trees. We enjoyed the sea water pool as it didnt have loud music like the main pool and sea. The sea itself was lovely for swimming and extremely hot, maybe 38 degrees in July and only a 1 min walk from our room. The Aqua Park was OK, it has about 10 large slides and a wave pool with DJ, it is mainly local Tunisians which was a welcome change. The Spa was ok but perhaps over priced. There is an astro pitch where people played ad hoc football in the evenings. There is also an xbox and Ps5 room next to the main pool. Hotel clientele was mainly east european and german/italian, very few british. Getting in and out of the airport was very quick and easy unlike for example Marrakech which adds several hours of airport security and gridlock traffic to your journey. The shop owner smokes all day which means the main reception is stinking of cigs all day, and you have to walk through that to get to the restaurant, not sure how he is allowed to get away with this by the management. Communication from the hotel was very poor, there are many events, activities and services available but they dont tell you anything and there is no welcome book in the room, over time you stumble upon the services and facilities, some of which I have mentioned above. For example there is a karaoke guy every evening but he just sits in the corner anonymously, one night someone sang a song with him and then I realised that is what he is being paid to be there for. However these are all small gripes, the fundamentals are good and I would go back again, I can imagine it is lovely in off season when there is less children and heat.

I stayed for 7 nights along with my partner and another couple for my birthday. The only positive I can say is our room was nice and the hotel was pretty with lovely courtyards and pool area.
Now for the rest, staff barely spoke any English so did not understand you when asking questions or needing help. We were charged our tourist tax twice and the hotel manager was not interested in helping sort it. When you asked for a drink, your were grunted at, eye rolled at and it was an inconvenience to them. We ended up only drinking soft drinks as the alcohol all tasted like nail varnish remover, and if you wanted a Malibu or something like that it would cost around £9. They constantly wanted money from you and think nothing about shoving a tip plate at you shouting cash cash!
Food was edible, not what you would expect from a 4star hotel, very repetitive and not a lot of choice.
There’s no communication at all, you are not told about how to get pool towels (which you have to leave a deposit for) or what entertainment is on, you just have to wander between the 2 hotels mindlessly and find it. If you try to join in with the karaoke, you have to remind the man hosting it as he either just sings himself or favours all the French guests, so you spend your whole evening listening to French music.
We missed the memo…. A lot of single people of all ages who have no issue in trying to hit on you or your partner in front of the other person, everyone is fair game! Our side was meant to be adult only and yet there were children everywhere.
We wanted to venture out but within 3 minutes we were back in the hotel as it didn’t feel safe after witnessing a violent incident right outside.
The beach is full of people mistreating camels and horses and wanting your money.
We witnessed at least 4 incidences where men attacked women and nothing was done. There were large groups of very drunk people from 9am, who were continued to be served more and more alcohol, making many feel uncomfortable.
To top it off, on our last evening the hotel manager assaulted one of the males in our party over a toilet roll holder, accusing him of breaking it which he didn’t, and tried to call the police and throw us all out. Luckily for us, one of the security guards came over, told the hotel manager to leave us alone as we weren’t trouble makers. The Hotel Manager, grabbed, swore at and pushed our friend, I’ve never been treated so horrible ever on a holiday ever and will never return!
I had to go back the next morning to hand our pool towels back and get the deposit back. It was the same hotel manager at reception, he snatched the receipt out of my hand and proceeded to throw my money at me shouting Take it!
We felt uneasy about checking out, as some had mentioned they just want more money of us, so we filmed every inch of our room once we packed up. Lucky we did, as soon as we had handed the key back, they sent someone to check our room, something they hadn’t done with anyone else.
We have never been so happy to go home, this was meant to be a lovely birthday celebration which was ruined by the staff!

My experience at the Hotel César Thalasso in Djerba was, without exaggeration, one of the worst I've ever had when traveling. From the outset, everything went wrong and culminated in an unacceptable situation of incompetence and disrespect for guests.
We found a used soap inside the shower!
The AC doesnt even work, its like an oven.
The most serious issue was currency exchange: the hotel failed to provide the obligatory stamp on receipts, which prevented us from reconverting dinars at the airport - a basic requirement on any trip to Tunisia. We were the only passengers without the stamp, while other hotel groups had everything in order. In other words, it was the sole negligence of the Hotel César Thalasso, with financial consequences for guests. To make matters worse, the staff denied any responsibility and made evasive excuses, trying to justify a blatant error with false arguments.
Three different employees made the same mistake. This isn't a one-off, it's systematic and reveals a lack of training, organization and professionalism.
The hotel also forces customers to pay deposits in euros and not dinars, which completely contradicts the excuse that they are just following local currency rules. Clearly, they follow what suits them and the guests have to make do.
When we tried to resolve the situation, the response was disrespectful and without any intention of taking responsibility or returning the money lost. They offered no real solutions - only vague promises and irrelevant suggestions
If you value your money and time DONT COME HERE!

The resort located less than 1 hour ride by bus from the airport. The amenities consist of three bars, one located at the beach away from the hotel about 5-7 minutes by foot and three swimmingpools. Unfortunately the beach bar offers alkohol drinks only for extra pay. The Aqua resort hotel located in the nearby offers much more, i.e. two extra pools and few bars where you can order even when accomodated in the Cesar Thalasso resort.

Animation crew is the best I have ever had on vacations. Unfortunately the vast majority of animations they do is in French so if you don't understand french you cannot really participate in those. Overall the place feels a litttle bit dirty and the bathrooms are way off european standards.
