My husband and myself have recently returned from a second visit to AX The Victoria and enjoyed our stay immensely! The level of service in this hotel is exceptional ... nothing is too much trouble! The staff on reception have a warm and welcoming attitude, as have the staff in the restaurant. The breakfast buffet is varied and very tasty providing a mixture of both hot and cold food. There is a large roof top sun terrace with two pools, plenty of sunbeds, a bar serving drinks and food and a magnificent view of Malta! A special mention to Alec and Chris for all their hard work serving drinks and to Dominika who has a good sense of humour and makes time for a chat! We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone. We can't wait to return!

This was our first time staying at the hotel and it was more than we expected. The rooms were immaculate upon arrival. The staff were so attentive. And the location was a max 15-20 minute walk from anything we needed.
A separate note. Mark the Operations Manager, and James the Sous Chef went above and beyond in fulfilling my request of cooking some fish we had caught from a fishing charter. This type of service is what separates a great hotel from a good hotel. If we are to ever find ourselves in Malta again we will definitely be coming back!

Extremely happy with our visit and the service provided. The reception staff were outstanding and in particular - Charles at breakfast service, really made our stay memorable. My wife and I really enjoyed his smile in the morning and his efforts in making our stay special. Each morning he would ask us if we would like our special dietary needs met. Our stay had some pleasant moments, but unfortunately we felt quite misled. We booked this hotel, but upon arrival we were told we had received a "free upgrade" to a room at AX The Palace (5 stars). Unfortunately, this gift turned out to be a bit of a poisoned chalice.
The room we were given was on the 8th floor, right below the rooftop pool. This meant we could hear a lot of noise, especially early in the morning and in the evening, with chairs constantly being dragged around. Even worse was the constant sound of a motor (presumably from the pool) right on our balcony, making noise 24/7. Thankfully I brought earplugs — otherwise, with my light sleep, I wouldn’t have been able to rest at all.
Another negative (and frankly a bit ridiculous) aspect was that despite the so-called upgrade, we were not allowed to have breakfast at The Palace and had to go to the Victoria instead, which felt inconsistent and somewhat uncomfortable.
That said, the room itself was beautiful, the bed extremely comfortable, and the bathroom very well equipped. It’s just a shame the noise and breakfast situation took away from what could have been a truly great experience.

We stayed at AX Hotel Victoria in March, and our experience was nothing short of fantastic. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the modern and elegant design of the hotel, as well as the warm welcome from the staff. Check-in was smooth and efficient, and we immediately felt at home.
Our room was spacious, beautifully decorated, and exceptionally clean. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a great night’s sleep after long days of exploring. The amenities were excellent, including high-quality toiletries, a well-stocked minibar, and a coffee station. We also had a wonderful view, which made our stay even more special.
Breakfast was another highlight of our visit. The selection was impressive, offering a wide variety of fresh and delicious options. From pastries to hot dishes and fresh fruit, there was something for everyone. The service at breakfast was also excellent, with attentive and friendly staff making sure we had everything we needed.
The hotel’s location is perfect for anyone wanting to explore the city. Many attractions, restaurants, and shops were within walking distance, making it very convenient. We loved being able to step out and easily reach everything we wanted to see.
One small downside was the indoor pool area. While the facilities themselves were well-maintained and inviting, some guests unfortunately did not behave appropriately, which slightly affected the relaxing atmosphere. While this is not the hotel’s fault, a bit more supervision or clearer rules could help improve the experience for all guests.
Despite this minor issue, our overall experience at AX Hotel Victoria was outstanding. The exceptional service, attention to detail, and overall comfort made our stay truly memorable. We would definitely return and highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a high-quality stay in the area.
