Only good thing is the location. We wrnt 30th September 2025 fir 2 weeks lasted 4 nights. We were put in the student accommodation. Room was disgusting. Holes in curtains. Dirty bed linen and towels. Rust in bath. Pillows non existing stuffing had gone. No fresh towels or bed linen was put in rooms. Staff on reception was more bothered looking on phone than listening to complaints. No coffee or milk put in rooms next day. So bought some. Just pure disgusting. Manager not bothered they took our £800. We booked into another hotel for remaining stay. It was heaven. Oh and the food bland same every day. Woukd not go back to this hotel. Hubby had to collect ironing board himself. Then charge you for a key for the ancient safe. And remote for t.v. the bedding had stains on and towels obviously from previous guests. This was my first holiday after having mild heart attack. It ruined my first few days in malta.

I've stayed here a few times. It's definitely cheap. But not cheerful.
Sat , now, In bed waiting for towels. It's a example of how rubbish the service is. They take them a m. Wash and return hopefully for tea time . Rubbish. Food is the same everyday. Just given different names. Pork, Beef and " Gammon", fish occasionally , but terrible. Staff have no idea how to organise anything. At breakfast we have to wait while the kitchen staff are ready, usually 10 mins late, consistant every day. The waiters and other staff use the restaurant before guests, for a cup of coffee and a group chat, ignoring the paying customers. You get what you pay for, that is Not much at the Canifor.

Strong and unbearable cigarette smell inside the rooms.
The old lady on night staff is fully aware and do not care. Her attitude and is appalling and hospitality is absent. The day staff was acceptable.
The photos are deceptive and not an accurate representation of what you will receive.
The buffet was horrendous and inedible for both breakfast and dinner.
They dont offer anything to drink at dinner buffet unless you pay for it each meal. Not even water.
The bathrooms are a disaster, water goes everywhere and there is no shower curtain.
My only positive for the entire stay is the hot water in the shower. But even this is not without issue as it comes out boiling and is very difficult to select a comfortable temperature.

I honestly cannot understand how this establishment holds a 4-star rating — it doesn't even deserve a single star. We stayed for 5 days, and it was an absolute nightmare from start to finish.
Staff & Customer Service:
With one or two rare exceptions, the staff were incredibly rude and dismissive. Because our towels were constantly dirty, we had to ask for fresh ones every single day. Shockingly, on one of the days, the staff actually told us they had completely run out of towels for the entire hotel! It was only on our very last day that we finally received towels that weren't stained. When we previously complained about the filthy linen, their casual response was simply that "they aren't new and have been used before." Utterly unacceptable.
Room, Bathroom & Maintenance:
The hotel is incredibly outdated and desperately needs proper maintenance. The finishes throughout are absolutely horrific. The walls were covered in damp with peeling paint, and there were stains on the ceiling. In the bathroom, there were numerous broken ceramic tiles and the toilet plumbing was shockingly bodged and covered in silicone sealant.
Furthermore, after being flushed, the toilet took around 20 minutes to refill. This was incredibly annoying, both because of the constant refilling noise and the sheer inconvenience for the next person wanting to use it. To top it off, the bedroom fridge made a dreadful racket, making it very difficult to fall asleep.
Safety & Privacy:
Shockingly, the bedroom doors do not lock. When we complained, we were told this was "for safety reasons" — an absolute joke that left us feeling completely vulnerable. The acoustic insulation is also non-existent; you can hear absolutely everything from the corridors and adjacent rooms.
Booking & Deception:
The photos online are highly misleading, making the place look decent. In reality, it feels like a low-cost hostel tailored for young partygoers, but at standard, premium prices. I wanted to check out and move to another hotel on our very first night, but both the hotel and Booking.com refused to refund our money.
This place is not even up to a 3-star standard. I strongly advise against staying here. I will never, ever return to this hotel chain.

I can totally agree with previous reviews - Lot of pubs around. Good area.
Jacuzzi on roof top had no water and sauna on -1 didn't work. Nice views and room. Breakfast ok, could be better. It's clean, and the food is quite decent. loud music at evening/night.
