It is clean and nice and well located. But it is a family hotel which means it is noisy due to the children walking along the hallways day and night. For relaxing I would recommend something else.
The pool area was too busy. No chance to get in. The indoor pool was better but very smelly due to the chloric.
The water pressure in the shower was like zero. I would say it is worth the price but if you can spend a bit more go elsewhere.

We stayed at Topaz Hotel, and our experience was very disappointing.
When we first checked in, we were given a room that smelled very strongly of mold. After looking around, we found visible mold on the walls. The situation was unacceptable, so we complained at the reception. The staff were helpful and offered us another room.
Unfortunately, the second room had the same unpleasant moldy smell, even though there was no visible mold. The staff genuinely tried to help us, but the overall condition of the hotel was very poor. Only after moving to a third room did we finally get a room without the smell or mold.
The housekeeping service also left a lot to be desired. Our towels were changed every day, but they all had stains on them. The bed sheets were also stained and did not look properly washed.
Overall, I am very dissatisfied with this hotel. Although the staff did their best to improve our stay, the hotel itself simply could not provide acceptable standards.
Another disappointment was the location. The hotel is far from a proper beach where you can relax and swim. The shoreline is only rocky, but this is not clearly mentioned. In addition, the entire area around the hotel is filled with abandoned buildings, ruins, and old, run-down structures, making the surroundings look neglected and unattractive.
We will definitely not be returning to Topaz Hotel.

A nice hotel with easy walking g distance to the main street in st Paul's Bay, and buses to the rest of the island.
The pool is clean and well appointed and has plenty of loungers and no 6am rush to put towels down!

This is a student hotel, there are lots of students staying here. The rooms are very old and the AC does not work well. The room was cramped, smelt of fumes the entire time from recent painting in the room. Luckily someone gave us their fan when they left as the AC was non existent.
You are only given one room key despite your group size.
Breakfast is okay. It was relatively clean.
The hotel is massive. All of the rooms are very different in different parts of the hotel.

I stayed in the Topaz Hotel for 7 nights with my mom and dad. We have been leaving this hotel with precious memories and smiles on our faces; in other words, we have enjoyed the stay and would gladly come back whenever one of us would be in Malta again.
What we appreciated the most was the staff working there - almost everyone we met on our way in the hotel was kind and suprisingly willing to talk with us about not only the hotel, but also Malta in general, and often times we would get personal tips on how to get around on the island and what to see. There is not any problem with language barriers when it comes to english too, even though almost nobody from the staff is Maltese. We felt welcome and seen there - especially when some staff members would sometimes just smile at you for no reason.
The hotel is of course not top-shelf, but is everything and a little more that what you would expect from a 3-star hotel. The location is fairly decent and you can get to a number of bus stops in a couple of minutes. The rooms are simple, clean and have everything you really need, and the beds are comfy. The food is diverse - you have what to choose from and what I mean by "diverse" is that some of the food is just without a taste, some of it is mid and also some of it is just mouthwatering and I admit that I could't stop eating for example the meatballs, the lasagna, sausages, some of the meats there and more. I believe that everyone will find something that they like there. In the "emerald restaurat" which is the hotel's diner, me and my parents met some really sweet people that work there in the diner. We remember two sisters that we talked with often - Rachana and Salina. They oftentimes kept us company for a couple for minutes during breakfast and dinner, laughed with us, asked some questions and also answered ours. At our last breakfast we all took a photo together to remember our stay (photo below) We recall these short moments with gratitude - thank you Rachana and Salina 😁😊
We recommend this hotel for everyone who wants a nice hotel for a fair price where they can feel welcome. The only drawback I would give is the unfortunate hours at which both the interior and the outside pool is open - it's around from 9.00 A.M to 6.00 P.M - and when we came back everyday around 7.00 P.M after a whole day of sightseeing we couldn't relax there. Thank you Topaz Hotel! Greeting from Poland to everyone working there 🇲🇹✨️🤍
