My personal experience at this hotel has been horrendous. I don’t want to rant too much but give useful tips to help others.
1. As soon as we walked in we were suddenly told that we had to pay 16 euros for taxes and 2.50 euros deposit for the safe for each day and 25 euros for the safe.
None of this was mentioned before on the booking.
2. We paid £150 a night for what they call standard room again nothing mentioned on booking. The same room is around 115 euros on booking here today.
This so called standard room has absolutely no kettle and you can beg them as much as you want they won’t even give you a glass if got water.
You get a kettle and mini bar only with superior rooms!!
3. For breakfast we walked everyday to continente model which is a supermarket nearby(30min walk) with an amazing budget restaurant. The food here at the hotel is horrible.
4. Cleanliness - putting pics here of their towels.
You will get much much better rooms near vilamoura

We originally booked a standard room but upgraded to a deluxe with a better shower, fridge and kettle. It's a bit of a walk, 10 to tiramisu or 20 minutes to local bars/restaurants at vilasol or food is available on site. Breakfast is continental so if you want a full English you'll be disappointed. Staff are fantastic and English speaking., helpfully correcting my attempts at Portuguese.
Very quiet, just what was needed after 2 weeks in albufeira.

Very disappointing stay – severe ant infestation and poor customer service
We stayed at Hotel Pinhal do Sol from 2–9 July 2026 as a family with a child, and unfortunately our experience was extremely disappointing.
When we arrived, despite our booking being for two adults and one child, our room only had two single beds. We asked reception about a suitable sleeping arrangement for our son. During the discussion we were quoted different prices for changing rooms (€500, then €200). We eventually agreed to pay an additional €87.50 (receipt available) for a room upgrade, which included an extra bed, a refrigerator and a kettle.
Unfortunately, the upgraded room (Room 226) had several serious problems. The room telephone was not working, the air conditioning was extremely noisy, and from our very first evening we noticed ants in the room. Over the following days the problem became much worse, with ants throughout the room, including inside our child's bed. We have photographs and videos documenting the infestation.
When we reported the issue on Sunday morning, we were told that the hotel was aware of the problem and that the ants returned even after treatment. We were given insect spray to use in the room ourselves. Despite reporting the problem, we remained in the room until Monday, when we returned to reception with further evidence and were finally moved to Room 206, which was a significant improvement.
During our stay we also repeatedly asked to speak with the hotel manager. Unfortunately, despite these requests, we were never able to speak with the manager or receive any contact from them during our stay.
We also had an unpleasant experience at the hotel bar when we politely asked for some ice to keep our child's water bottle cool during temperatures of around 37°C. Even after explaining the reason and offering to pay, our request was refused.
Overall, what should have been a relaxing family holiday became a stressful experience. We appreciate that the hotel eventually moved us to another room, but this only happened after several days of repeated complaints.
Based on our experience, we would not choose to stay here again.

Hotel was booked under an easyjet holiday package, so can't really speak for the price by itself. With the package it was fantastic value though (especially since breakfast was only 6 euros extra per person on a 7 night stay).
Whilst quite a small site, it still looked very friendly on arrival and rather neat. The staff on reception were very friendly and gave us a quick rundown of activities in the area and surrounding areas, whilst offering to go into more detail if needed.
The rooms were rather basic, but provided a tv and two single beds with plenty of blankets. There were also 2 chairs in the room and a small table, with each bed also having a small bedside table with drawer. The shower had a great level of power, but the drain didn't seem to be able to handle too much at once. Handsoap and shampoo were also provided. Towels and bedding were changed each day and there is a laundry service if needed (at extra cost).
As others have mentioned, the wifi is a bit lacking, especially in our room where it seemed to dip frequently.
Didn't take a dip in the pool, although goven the weather it likely wouldn't been a bit too chilly. The pool otself dod look quite nice and seemed to be well looked after.
The breakfast was buffet style with pretty similar options each day, but there was some variation on certain parts of it. They also had a coffee machine with a range of drinks (chocolate milk was a mainstay for me).
Id say for the price we got it for, it was more than worth it for the weeks stay, and looking online their normal prices don't seem too bad for what you get.
Would definitely recommend if you're looking to stay in this area or looking to explore the algarve, although it is about an hour from the train station (by foot). Also plenty of parking spaces.

I would like to take the time to thank the entire hotel team, who were incredibly welcoming. They are truly passionate about their work and gave excellent sightseeing recommendations. The rooms are very clean. I can only highly recommend this hotel. Thank you for your hospitality.
