Incredible hotel, almost perfect...
The hotel, staff, breakfast and facilities are incredible and it was almost a completely perfect hotel.
Negative:
Rooms have "adjoining" doors - perfect for families, as they seem to join double and twin rooms. The only issue is, the 2 woman in the next room to us were not family and the doors are very thin. We could hear every conversation they had (talking not shouting) Not sure if all floors have this but ours did and whilst out neighbours were not "Loud" we could hear every word and alarm throughout the night.
Positives: EVERYTHING else. The breakfast was amazing, huge variety and very fresh. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location is 10 minutes from town by car (I would recommend renting where you can). The beach was immaculate and the beds were very comfortable - we never saw the beds all taken.
Overall, I would recommend this hotel, most definitely.

Kontokali Bay Resort enjoys one of the best locations in Corfu, with direct beach access, beautiful sea views, and convenient proximity to Corfu Town. The staff were consistently friendly, welcoming, and attentive throughout my stay.
That said, the property feels somewhat dated, particularly the rooms, which could benefit from refurbishment and modernization. Some facilities also felt out of touch with current luxury resort standards, especially the gym, which was quite limited and featured only one standard treadmill. While the resort may still be considered luxurious by some European standards, international travelers accustomed to more contemporary luxury offerings may find certain aspects of the property in need of updating.
Overall, while the location and warm hospitality were definite highlights, the resort would greatly benefit from updates to its rooms and facilities to match the expectations of today’s travelers.

Perfectly fine resort, but nothing special. Nice pool and beach. Bar service is good, as is breakfast. Family dining optuons very limited and pricy. Great little taverna on the beach next to the resort for lunch and others nearby.

I have to say that I've already stayed at quite a few hotels all over Europe but this one's one of the best.
Besides the spacious room (we stayed at bungalow with a private pool), the amenities and the delicious food, it was the hospitality of the staff that was beyond amazing. Everyone, and I mean everyone - from cleaning staff to managers, always had a smile on their face, was so forthcoming, helpful and caring.

Kontokali Bay was really everything I hoped it would be! We arranged an airport transfer through the hotel prior to arriving. Upon arriving at the hotel around 9:45, we knew our room wouldn’t be ready but were surprised when the reception let us know it would be ready by 11. Harris, the porter/bell hop, took us outside and followed the path to a bungalow (detached from the main hotel building)with a pool. We noticed upon entering that it was just a queen bed and not two twins as previously requested (traveling with a friend). Harris immediately called the front desk and while there was a daybed/couch in the room that they offered to make into a bed, we preferred two actual beds. Harris relayed to us that they had a room in the main building with a pool, so we chose to change rooms in order to have the two twin beds. Harris was so helpful during this situation and we appreciate the whole team for making this work! The grounds of the whole resort were very well maintained and cleanliness appears to be top priority. Each interaction with staff was pleasant. There were ample sunbeds on the beach. The hotel was overall quiet making relaxation very easy! The hotel offers a daily free shuttle into Corfu old town leaving at 9:30 and returning at 1:30. We arranged an airport transfer again at the end of the trip through the hotel.
Spa: On our first day, we visited the spa to have treatments that we previously scheduled. We were greeted immediately and given locker keys to change into our robe and slippers. You’re then provided pomegranate juice and a cold hand towel scented with essential oils. I received the ice facial and cellulite massage from Yasmin and my friend revived the aryuvedic massage from Kiki. Can you say complete relaxation!! We enjoyed it so much that the next day as we were headed to breakfast we stopped by the spa info table to schedule another service. We both got deep tissue massages again from Yasmin and Kiki. Highly recommend a trip to the spa!
Room: We ended up staying in room 104, which had a private pool. The room was very clean and modern. The water pressure in the shower was great! The first day, we went to the beach and when I returned to the room the power wasn’t working even with the card in place (probably user error 🤦🏼♀️), but I called the reception and within 5 minutes maintenance arrived and had everything working! The AC worked well making the room very comfortable. Housekeeping came each day, leaving the room fresh.
Food: The breakfast buffet was well maintained and probably one of the most extensive I’ve ever had! We loved being able to lay on the beach and order drinks and food from our sunbed (pressing the button or using the app). Dimitris was our server each day and the wait time was very limited. We dined at Parea our first night. The servers were so welcoming and attentive throughout our meal (I didn’t take down their names, but one had bright blue eyes and the other a pony tail). We asked for a suggestion of a white wine and were given a dry, but fruity glass of Apla, which we enjoyed! Everything was delicious from the bread and herb butter to the stone bass, lamb and trahana, and baklava! We dined at Asterias the second night and wow!! The setup was simple as to not take away from the beautiful view of the grounds and ocean. Christos provided us great service! We got a bottle of the Apla because we enjoyed it so much the night before. The amuse bouche was delightful and the bread with black garlic butter…just YUM! We had the Porgy (a new fish I’ve never tried) and open ravioli with oxtail. Both meals were just so incredibly flavorful!!! 👏🏻👏🏻
Opportunities for growth: The beds were a bit too firm (it was not too bad for me, but much too hard for my friend). The private pool was not heated. While stunning, the main pool is the only area that we didn’t make it to as sunbeds were always taken (chairs were open but not loungers). There is no fan in the bathroom, so it took awhile for the bathroom to clear of steam after a shower.
Recommend!!! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
