Most of the pictures of the building are real. The hotel has cracked outside walls paint scabbing, doors that barely open/close. The location of it is decent, right on the sea side. The pools are small and the water is not clear and doesn't seem particularly clean. The bar is outdated and in need of renovation, the same for the tennis and volley, courts. Cracks and rust almost everywhere.
On the other side, the staff is what made our stay amazing 👏! The staff are 5 ⭐️ , starting from the reception : Nyle, Angela and the older man with glasses - all of them are profesional, friendly and extremely helpful, they made the check in/ out process so smooth and quick, helped us with any queries. The restaurant staff were so friendly and efficient, we could not fault any of them , specifically Dan and Julian, they were so kind and attentive with guests that you could see that they enjoy their jobs. The animation crew was so small ( we only met Akos and Quentin in the whole week that we were there) , and it seemed that it was a afterthought. The kids club was almost non existent, the kids disco was really boring and didn't really captivated kids. The boys did try, I will admit that, however it needs more organisation.
The food is again one of the highlights , as it was soooo delicious and cooked fresh 😋. So much variety and so flavour, we absolutely enjoyed every meal we had, and we never got bored of the menus. Also, the drinks were really nice, exactly what you need on a seaside .
All in all, with the good and the bad, we would go again and we HIGHLY RECCOMEND the hotel!

I returned from this hotel just two days ago, and while I may have stayed in more beautiful places before, I'm not so sure I've stayed in many better ones.
The staff were exceptionally kind and helpful at all times. Honestly, I find it hard to believe some of the reviews claiming that the staff are unfriendly. Our experience was exactly the opposite.
The children's mini disco was held every evening, even on nights when there were only two children staying at the hotel. Special thanks to AKOS NAGY for his dedication. Despite the low attendance, he was always friendly, enthusiastic, and very attentive to our children.
The food was consistently delicious. I also think that anyone claiming there is "no variety" in the food may have unrealistic expectations. Every day there were several different options available, including rice, potatoes, fries, fish, pork, and chicken, along with a wide selection of vegetables and salads. There were also traditional local desserts, ice cream, fresh fruits, yogurts, creams, and mousses.
If someone considers this amount of choice insufficient, then perhaps no hotel would ever meet their expectations.
To sum it up, yes, you can certainly find more luxurious and visually impressive hotels if you are willing to pay significantly more. However, for a 3-star hotel, this place more than meets expectations. We had a wonderful stay here and spent a very enjoyable holiday at the hotel.

We had a very enjoyable week at Royal Monica and would happily return. We arrived around 11pm and really appreciated that the hotel had left a cold buffet available for us. Check-in was easy, and although the room was basic, it was clean and perfectly suitable for a three-star hotel. Rooms are cleaned five days a week.
The food was better than at many other all-inclusive hotels I have stayed in, with plenty of choice from breakfast until around 9:30pm. The pancakes and huge bowl of Nutella available for around four hours a day were great, although not helpful for my waistline!
The pool is large, with plenty of sunbeds, and the pool bar serves snacks throughout the day. The private beach areas are a real highlight, with sea access, good snorkelling, lots of fish, and rocks where children can look for crabs. Fishing is also possible.
As a single parent travelling with my five-year-old daughter, the kids’ club was brilliant. It runs from 11am–1pm and 3pm–5pm, and all the staff were friendly and especially good with children. The animation team also worked hard with daytime activities.
Evening entertainment was mixed. We enjoyed the outsourced acrobatics and magic shows, but most nights were in-house quizzes, bingo and family games, which are not really my thing. This would not stop me booking again, though, as it is only a small part of the holiday.
Areas for improvement would be some general TLC, a lick of paint in places and fridges in the rooms. I brought a small portable fridge after reading about this, which was very useful.
There is an on-site shop open 9am–1pm and 5pm–9pm, and Playa Blanca is only €1.40 by bus. Flamingo Beach is around a 20–25 minute coastal walk away.
The hotel attracts guests from across Europe. It seemed French-dominated at first, but later in the week there were many more British and German guests. Communication was never a problem as the staff spoke English.
I did not use the gym or spa, so cannot comment on them. Overall, Royal Monica offers good food, a great pool, beautiful sea views and excellent facilities for young children. It is not luxury, but it is very good value for a three-star all-inclusive hotel.

Me and my partner stayed here for a week, we are a young couple and honestly this hotel shocked us, we couldn’t believe it was only 3 stars. We payed for all inclusive and it was lovely the service was amazing although the food did get a tiny bit repetitive but still amazing. The rooms were so clean, also had a cleaner come in every single day cleaned the floors, bathroom, and made the beds look lush. The repetition staff were honestly incredible all of them were so lovely, I did have my bed break due to wear and tear no one’s fault and we went to reception and it was sorted out straight away we had a maintenance man come 10 minutes before his shift finished and still continued to sort it out he was amazing.
The pool area was lovely lots of sun loungers, the pool bar was amazing - snacks and drinks all day long, also had a pool table, the service was amazing in there there was one lady called Sandra and she was so so lovely. Also the reps were really good, they’d always do games and it was be very inclusive they also would put on some type of game or show every night and the pool bar for example: bingo, music quizzes, acrobatics. One of the reps he was Hungarian (we keep forgetting his name) but he was the most genuine person ever my boyfriend asked him to play football and he went out of his way to go play football with just him for about an hour and half.
Honestly couldn’t fault this place, the view is incredible lots of sun loungers on the beach.
About a 5-7 minute drive from playa Blanca costing about €6 in taxi.
10/10 hotel.

Not value for money. This hotel is very run down. The pool bar is a shack outside that serves drinks for day and night, It isn't enclosed and birds are able to get in and pick at what's on offer for snacks. Drinks are OK but small in really small plastic tumblers. There is another bar which would work better if you could get some drinks served but it is a self serviced bar for soft drinks, wine and beer only with absolutely no atmosphere.
There was no entertainment in the evening during our stay (and not much happening in the day either), we were told this was due to them playing the world cup games, however when England played we had to leave before the end of the game! , they closed up and everyone left as it went on too long! You can't advertise playing a football match and not allow the guests the pleasure of seeing it through to the end!!!!
We were unable to get a late check out, we were willing to pay for this but couldnt due to occupancy which is fair enough but there is no curtesy room to get changed! Only place offered were the pool toilets or restaurant toilets, oh or a shower at the pool outside in the open!!!
The pool is freezing, it lacks entertainment for kids, didn't see any in the mini club either.
The location is beautiful on the beach a few spots around for alternative entertainment as you absolutely need it! Lovely walk on the sea front.
Most plates in the restaurant are chipped, food is nice, not great for kids. Again birds fly in. It is really run down with some filthy covering on the ceiling. I was unwell one day from the food.
Rooms are big, we had a large family room, lovely view. No fridge in the room, they offer this at reception
Staff are helpful. This hotel is in need of a full renovation all over and an area for entertainment overall we will not be returning.
