This is an older 5-star resort that’s clearly in need of renovation — it feels more like a 4-star property at this point. That said, it’s very quiet and the pools are great for sunbathing and relaxing.
Keep in mind that if you’re looking for a beach holiday, this may not be the best choice. The hotel is located next to a marina, not a beach, so you’ll need a car to reach one.
The biggest disappointment was the food. The buffet dinner was very poor in quality, and the poolside snack bar was just as bad — more like a budget hotel serving pre-cooked frozen products. Definitely not worth it.
On the positive side, there are good restaurants within walking distance, which makes it easy to avoid eating at the hotel.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel and truly enjoyed my experience. The room was spacious, comfortable, and very well equipped, making it easy to relax from the moment we arrived. The entrance and reception area are absolutely gorgeous—impressive and elegant, and they immediately set a great first impression.
The food was outstanding. Both breakfast and dinner were delicious, with a wide variety of options available. We especially appreciated the themed dinners each night, which added a fun and unique touch to the dining experience.
The hotel offers a wide range of complimentary activities, which was a great bonus. The pool area is beautiful, very well maintained, and a perfect place to unwind. What really stood out, though, was the staff—everyone was incredibly friendly, helpful, and welcoming throughout my stay.
While there is some room for improvement in the spa, this did not take away from an otherwise fantastic experience. Overall, this is an excellent hotel, and we would happily recommend it and return again.

The Livvo Volcan Hotel is a very imposing hotel. The layout is like a small village with rooms set on different levels. There are walkways to connect the different areas of the hotel, a bit like old town streets. As an example, the main restaurant, La Florida, is on it's own in the centre and you have to walk down the paths to get there so you actually leave the cover of inside the hotel. The rooms are also set out as if village like and the paths link the various areas of the hotel. We stayed on bed and breakfast basis as there are a feast of great restaurants just outside the gate at the marina. 100metres to the nearest. These surround the marina and there is a large selection of options. There's a market twice a week in the marina and lots of interesting shops too. The hotel has entertainment 6 out of 7 nights while we were there. We stayed 14 nights and the entertainment changed nover the period. The staff are very friendly and offer to help for all sorts of things. They even took our luggage from the car and parked the car in the covered car park for us on arrival. The covered car park keeps your car cool out of the sun. There are 5 swimming pools, 4 are heated. We used the one closest to our room and considering it was January, the pool temperature was warm, I'd guess 32°C so it felt warm to get in. There's a heated children's pool too. Overall, an excellent venue and we had a great fortnight. Would recommend to anyone.

Beautiful hotel!! It was perfect. Mostly seniors which is why its quiet and relaxing.
Room- I prebooked my room, Id recommend this because not all rooms have a double bed, most of them are single beds pushed together. However the rooms are spacious and beautiful. Shower has fantastic water pressure! Cleaned daily and super clean!
Staff - Very nice and friendly!
Meals - Breakfast plates cleaning was a little slow, had to stack plates sometimes. Even though breakfast was till 10:30, they seemed to not restock from 9:30... Dinner service was fast. Next time, we would just do b&b instead of halfboard.
Activities - We were only there for 5 days for us, it was perfect and not repetitive. Painting was really fun and the nightly entertainment was great.
Pool - It was heated and warm!
Wifi - Not great..
Location - Ideal for a getaway. The other part of playa blanca is super touristy and busy.

Great hotel on the first line. Spacious, comfortable, cosy with excellent service. Great breakfast. Super rooms, everything is clean. The hotel has very nice restaurants with excellent cuisine. Fresh fish, meat, fruit. The location allows you to walk through the entire Playa Blanca. There are many shops and restaurants in the port. We booked it easily and simply. The taxi from the airport takes 30 minutes and 50 euros. The weather is super. We'll be back.
