I had the opportunity to stay here at the end of September with a small group of people. The hotel's location is perfect, and the staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean, while the breakfast service is similar to that of a three-star hotel, but still satisfactory. Overall, it's a good place to stay in Malta.

Localization is perfect and that’s it. Moldy AC, I am sick 3rd day. What’s ‚funny’ I asked about the change my room and they did it. Room service leaved the bottle of water on the desk. Reception guy came 3 minutes after and asked if everything is okay. When I said ‚I Think so’ he said - okay just let me take off the water, that’s for the other guest. Bottle. Of. Water. No dinner, no luxury bag - bottle of water. Attached You will find pictures from 4* hotel room. 4* is a joke - even one is too much. What’s important - You cannot even hide the documents, money etc. in safe, because YOU DONT EVEN HAVE A KEY TO IT. Bed is not a bed - it’s a joke. Been in many places in the whole world, that’s definitely the worst.

My girlfriend and I recently stayed at the Hotel Kennedy Nova for five nights, and I can confidently say this is not a four-star hotel. We’re fairly modest and not at all demanding, and I rarely leave negative reviews since I know they can impact businesses—but this place truly deserves one.
First Impressions & Room Issues
Right after checking in on the first night, the power went out multiple times, and the fire alarm kept going off. When we finally made it to our room, we were shocked by how poorly maintained it was. The shower hadn’t been cleaned in ages, and the air conditioning unit was covered in mold. (I regret not taking pictures, but other guests’ reviews confirm the same issues.)
The beds were extremely uncomfortable—you could feel the springs poking through the mattress. To make matters worse, we spotted cockroaches in the room. Our balcony offered no view except the inside of the building, facing other guests’ balconies. The fridge was broken, and the safe didn’t work either. Even the toilet barely flushed; if two people needed to use it, they had to wait to avoid seeing each other’s waste.
Adding to the frustration, the hotel had a sign at reception stating they would not take responsibility for any items not stored in the safe if they were stolen or misplaced. This policy made us feel unsafe, as if the hotel had no intention of ensuring basic security for guests’ belongings.
Breakfast was advertised as a buffet, served from 7–10 AM, but it was the worst food I’ve ever had. We arrived right at 7 AM when it opened, and everything was already cold—soggy bacon, watery eggs, and even the potatoes were ice-cold. Nothing tasted fresh; it all seemed like cheap, store-bought items.
One incident stood out: since the water glasses were tiny, we decided to fill our 500ml water bottle instead of making multiple trips. A staff member abruptly stopped us, saying, “If you want water, you buy water.” When we asked why, she rudely explained that the hotel pays for water, so guests must pay as well. But here’s the thing—we already paid for breakfast, which presumably includes water. Her attitude was unacceptable, and the policy made no sense.
Some rooms are connected without prior notice (our room), meaning you’re essentially sharing a space with strangers—you can hear everything through the walls and doors. While this isn’t entirely the hotel’s fault, the noise levels were unbearable. Guests blasted music at 3 AM, ran through the halls, and slammed doors constantly. The staff seemed unaware, but it significantly worsened our experience.
Overall, Hotel Kennedy Nova fell far below expectations for a supposed four-star hotel. Between the dirty rooms, terrible breakfast, rude staff, and noise issues, I would strongly advise against staying here.

Worst hotel I’ve been for this kind of price: Poor room quality, drawers and wardrobe are not clean, bad breakfast, very noisy, AC doesn’t work, WiFi doesn’t work, staff isn’t helpful. Location is OK.
ROUNDABOUT
I rarely write negative reviews, but my stay at Hotel Kennedy Nova in Malta was truly awful. The breakfast was the worst I’ve ever had. The scrambled eggs were swimming in some strange liquid, completely inedible and tasted like something from a gas station. The potatoes were undercooked and raw in the center. The toaster was broken and burned everything. Even the milk for the cereal was warm every single day – clearly not refrigerated.
The room was just as bad. The doors squeaked loudly and woke us up every night. Other guests were shouting in the hallways, slamming doors, and running around, and no hotel staff ever stepped in. Our toilet seat was broken and slammed into our backs whenever we used it. At one point, green liquid started dripping from the ceiling – absolutely disgusting.
To make things worse, there was a fire alarm going off almost every day. A loud ringing would start out of nowhere, followed by all the doors in the corridor slamming shut with a bang. This wasn’t due to an actual emergency – the alarm was just overly sensitive and would get triggered by something as simple as steam from a shower. It was disturbing and completely unnecessary.
Fresh towels were only available at a specific time of day, which made no sense. Our balcony door didn’t open properly, so we couldn’t even get proper light into the room. And worst of all, the older man at the front desk made creepy and inappropriate comments towards women – completely unacceptable.
Avoid this hotel if you value your comfort, safety, or basic hygiene. There are far better places to stay in Malta.
