Stayed for one week, ideally situated (but of course hilly- can't be helped in the area) really enjoyed the stay, place was clean and tidy, had room serviced every day. Will return again, close to old and new town depending on what entrance/exit you use.
Honestly if you're looking for a clean and well maintained stay this is your place - the only downside is that if you have a rental car parking is very limited, but really same as most places these days !!!

Having booked this hotel last minute after seeing amazing pictures of the rooms, we were slightly let down and what we got wasn't what we saw room 222.
On arrival we were greeted by a loverly guy on check-in.
Our room had a curtain hanging off the rail, told reception and it was fixed promptly.
Self catering apartment basic and in need of some tlc.
If your thing here was to cook think again kitchen very limited utensils, you could probably do a 1 pan meal.
Pool rules state it opens at 10 and closes at 6 and NO reserving sunbeds, well on our first day beds had all been reserved with folks towels so we had to join the mayhem just to get a sun bed.
On the beach mention breakfast and a la carte menu in the evening. So far we've not seen sight nor sound of restaurant even being open. Guess on the beach must be wrong.
I guessing that by the photos on the website that not all rooms are the same.

When we arrived at El Dorado, we were told that our room wasn't ready because of a leak. Credit where it's due – the hotel handled the situation very well. They arranged for us to stay at Playa Club for three nights, organized and paid for the taxi transfer, and once our room at El Dorado was ready, they again arranged and paid for the taxi back. We really appreciated how professionally they dealt with the situation.
However, after experiencing both hotels, we were left with mixed feelings. Playa Club had a much more relaxed atmosphere, friendlier staff, and felt far more welcoming for families. In comparison, El Dorado feels much stricter. There are many rules around the pool area, children are not allowed to use inflatables, and the lifeguard enforces the rules very rigidly, which takes away some of the holiday atmosphere.
In our opinion, this hotel is better suited to older guests or couples looking for peace and quiet rather than families with young children. As parents, we often felt that children having fun was discouraged instead of welcomed.
Unfortunately, we also found some of the reception staff to be quite unfriendly and unwelcoming. They rarely smiled or made us feel welcome, which was disappointing, especially compared to the excellent service we received at Playa Club. On our last evening, however, one gentleman working at reception was genuinely friendly, approachable, and made a very positive impression.
We were also disappointed with the cleanliness standards. The curtains were dirty, the sofas had visible stains and looked like they hadn't been properly cleaned for a long time, and the decorative cushions also appeared worn and unwashed. We also noticed dirty door frames and other areas of the room that clearly needed a more thorough clean.
There were also several maintenance issues in our room. One of the toilets was not working properly, so we had to call maintenance. Although we were told it had been fixed, the toilet continued to run for around 20 minutes after every flush. We also had a door that wouldn't close properly and a loose door handle. Thankfully, the maintenance team fixed those issues efficiently. In fact, the maintenance team and the cleaning staff were the friendliest people we met during our stay—they were always polite, smiling, and helpful.
Another issue was the constant noise from the air conditioning unit serving the neighbouring room. It seemed to run almost continuously, even when the room next door appeared to be unoccupied. It was so loud that sitting on our balcony during the day wasn't particularly enjoyable, and at night we had to keep all the balcony doors closed just to reduce the noise enough to sleep comfortably.
The hotel's biggest advantage is definitely its location. If you leave through the back gate, you are just a short walk from a shopping centre with McDonald's, supermarkets, shops, and restaurants. It is also within easy walking distance of the Old Town and our favourite restaurant, La Cascada. In the opposite direction, the beachfront promenade is almost on the hotel's doorstep, offering plenty of restaurants, bars, shops, and beautiful sea views.
While we appreciate how the hotel resolved the initial problem with our room, we expected a more consistent standard across hotels within the same group. Unfortunately, the cleanliness, the strict atmosphere, and the lack of a family-friendly environment meant our stay did not meet our expectations.
If we ever return to Lanzarote, we would happily stay at Playa Club again. Unfortunately, we cannot say the same about El Dorado.

We chose Labranda El Dorado because it had apartments with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Great location, close to the beach/restaurants/shops/bus stop. Big apartment with sea view. Nice pools and garden areas but a lot of steps.
Photos show apartments as better standard than they are. Bathrooms need completely updating. Shower tray was collapsing in one corner and leaking, plus multiple cracked/broken/chipped tiles. The standard of cleaning was poor; clean less often but better. The floor mopping pushed hair into the corners of the shower room so I wore shoes at all times. There are no sofas, only a pull out bed to sit on which is not comfortable or big enough for 4 adults. Kitchen equipped with basics but no washing up liquid or cloth/brush. Poor lighting so had to move lamp to cook. Tiles painted cheerful turquoise but paint peeling off. The sheets felt damp despite us airing the bedrooms every day. The balcony accessible from the bedrooms would be better with chairs and a table and the patio would be better with sunloungers.

From arrival to leaving, our experience was great. Staff, cleanliness, safety, pool, location, all suited us. Groundsmen were constantly tipping up paintwork and spraying plants. Clockwork every night, the pool area was power washed, and morning the pool cleaned. We will definitely be returning.
