We had an amazing stay at Alfagar Cerro Malpique! From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by how spotlessly clean the hotel is, with attention to detail in every corner. The staff were all incredibly friendly, and Abraham in particular made our stay even more enjoyable. His English is excellent, and he was always there to help with any questions or requests.
The rooms are fully equipped with everything you could possibly need, from drinking glasses, plates, and cutlery, to extra pillows and blankets for added comfort. It was nice having that little touch of home, especially with the small kitchenette, which made it easy to prepare simple meals. The rooms are also spacious and well-maintained, giving us plenty of room to relax and unwind.
One of the highlights of this hotel is the amazing views. From our room, we had stunning sea views, and being located up on the hill gives you a peaceful, serene atmosphere while still being close to the action of Albufeira. The location was perfect, with the Old Town and beach just a short walk away, but far enough from the crowds to enjoy some quiet time.
The pool area is also fantastic. It’s well-maintained and spacious, with plenty of sunbeds to go around. The pool bar, with the friendly lady serving drinks, added a really nice touch to the whole experience—always welcoming and attentive.
One of the best parts of staying here was the overall warmth and hospitality of the entire staff. From the reception to housekeeping, everyone was so nice and always ready to assist with a smile.
If you're looking for a clean, quiet, and well-located hotel with amazing views, Alfagar Cerro Malpique is the place to be. We definitely plan on returning!

We stayed here for five nights in May and thoroughly enjoyed our time. The two-bedroom apartments are spacious and well-equipped, we loved the large overhead shower. Nice small balcony with a great view.
The pool area was great, plenty of sun loungers. The pool isn’t heated but nice and refreshing.
The location is ideal, just a short walk down to the old town, where you’ll find plenty of bars, restaurants, shops, and the beach. It’s far enough from the busy centre to feel peaceful and quiet in the evenings. Note it’s quite a steep 10 min walk up stairs from the town.

Great location, 5 minute walk from lively part of the old town. Walk back is a bit longer as it's up a steep hill/steps.
Apartments are clean and spacious, a little dated but not falling apart.
Room service is every other day by default, happy to provide necessities and towel change when requested though.
Pool is small but clean and plenty of loungers around.

We stayed at the hotel 10 nights at the end July 2025. We liked about our room and the view from the room and balcony (sea view). Room was big and there was basically everything what you need even for a longer stay. Even in kitchen there was enough kitchen utensils for cooking and eating.
We had a car for the whole stay and there was no parking problems ever in this hotel.
Staff at the reception was wery friendly and all spoke really good english and they were willing to help if you had something ro ask.
Unfortunatelly the cleaning at the time of our stay was not good. Cleaning staff visited mainly once / 2 days, but they only took out the trashes and changed some of towels but not all. We stayed 10 nights so we had to ask them to change our sheets and all the towels, otherwise they wouldn't do that. Otherwise they didn't clean the room at all, no toilet or shower cleaning and no sweeping for the floors...
Pool area was quite big but the pool is really small. Sunbeds looked also a bit dirty so maybe those should be cleaned also time to time. There is a bigger pool at the other building but thats not so big either and you need to walk there via road.
Anyway the biggest problem for staying at this hotel is the noice what other guests are making. There is a lot of young party groups at the hotel (and all city) mainly British. They are jelling all the time they are a wake, dringing and jelling and playing music loud! The only silent moment is when thise groups are at the bar in old town, when thay come back at 3 - 5 AM the screamingvstarts again until they pass out...
Unfortunatelly I think that this problem with younger people groups is not only in this hotel. The whole Albufeira city is like an Ibiza. So if you like that kind of atmosphere this could be a good hotel for you, otherwise I recomend you to choose a different city or country for your holiday.
