We have just spent 12 nights, half board, at this lovely hotel. The food was delicious and the staff were all so friendly with a smile on their faces and very helpful. The pool area was so spacious with a huge pool. The beach was also lovely with a nice walk along the promenade to the main resort. My husband and son played golf twice which they enjoyed too. I would highly recommend this hotel and plan to return.

We stayed here from 3rd – 10th August 2025.
Overall, the hotel is good.
The room was lovely, but it had no door to the bathroom, which was very inconvenient and, frankly, quite silly. We often had to use the public toilets instead. This seems to be common in Spanish hotels – but who came up with such an idea, and why people don’t seem to mind it is beyond me.
The grounds are nice, and the beach is pleasant – right in front of the hotel.
HOWEVER – there is a serious hygiene problem in the restaurant!
The restaurant was full of flies, which were crawling freely over all the food. Everything was left uncovered. The flies were everywhere, and the staff did not even attempt to chase them away. Flies also landed on our plates while we were eating, and we constantly had to wave one hand above the table to stop them from settling on our food.
Because all the cold food was covered in flies, our only option was to stick to hot dishes – which significantly reduced our choice.
As there were no flies anywhere else in the hotel, it seems the restaurant has developed its own unique ecosystem where flies live and breed on the food.
I also saw cockroaches several times in the toilet near the kitchen – which makes it quite likely they are also in the kitchen itself.
Why does the hotel management not resolve this hygiene problem in the restaurant?
Sadly, we are unlikely to return to this hotel.

We chose this Marriott Bonvoy hotel for a 5-night bank holiday stay due to positive reviews and its beachside location. Overall, we had a great time and would consider returning, despite some easily fixable issues.
We particularly enjoyed the friendly and welcoming service (especially the Bonvoy recognition), the spacious rooms, the large heated pool area, and the prime beachside location.
Areas for Improvement
While the positive aspects made our stay enjoyable, some areas could be improved for a true 5-star experience:
* Arrival Experience: While ample free parking was appreciated, a dedicated staff member to assist with bags and room guidance upon arrival would enhance the check-in experience.
* Hotel Grounds & Room Aging: The hotel's age is apparent throughout, with dated furnishings in common areas and rooms. In our room (228), we experienced a clogged sink, small wardrobe bugs, misaligned bathroom tiles causing water leaks, and an outdated TV.
* Maintenance & Cleanliness: Issues like a broken, poorly taped toilet in the pool area and infrequent cleaning of those facilities were noticeable. Room keys also frequently became invalid, suggesting an older technology system.
* Dining Experience: While the buffet offered good food variety (especially grilled meats), dessert selection could be better. Soft drinks should be included, and waiting staff attention could be improved. Cross-contamination risks at the buffet due to shared serving utensils and unsupervised children at the chocolate fountain are also concerns.
* Service & Amenities: Despite excellent room service and turndown, needing to pick up beach towels from reception daily was inconvenient. Evening activities were also not well-advertised or engaging.
Location & Overall
The hotel boasts a fantastic location, being just 15 minutes from the airport, next to a beautiful beach, and central for island exploration. The nearby mall with a Eurospar was also convenient.
Despite the identified areas for improvement, our stay was pleasant, largely due to the spacious rooms and friendly staff. We've rated it 4/5, acknowledging the potential for a truly exceptional experience with some updates and attention to detail.

Mixed Experience with Room for Improvement
My recent stay at the Sheraton Hotel Fuerteventura offered a mixed experience, marked by excellent service and cleanliness but hampered by notable issues with food hygiene and room conditions.
The staff at the Sheraton Fuerteventura were incredibly welcoming from the moment we arrived. We had a late check-in and the hotel thoughtfully provided a selection of welcoming food and champagne in our room, which was a very pleasant surprise and greatly appreciated after a long journey. The staff's hospitality was consistently a highlight throughout our stay.
While the hotel's decor felt a bit dated, the overall cleanliness was excellent. The housekeeping team did an excellent job maintaining the rooms and common areas. However, our stay was slightly marred by the presence of ants in our ground-floor bedroom, which was disappointing and detracted from the comfort of the room.
One of the other issues observed was maintenance work being carried out to replace damaged stones by the pool during times when customers were using the pools creating noise and hazardous uncontrolled dust from the cutting operations.
A major drawback during our stay was the lack of food protection at the dining areas, particularly at the buffet. We observed flies landing on uncovered food, specifically the cheese plateau. This lapse in hygiene is a serious concern and needs immediate attention to ensure the safety and quality of the food served.
Also seeing pigeons eating out leftovers from plates and walking on tables on the terrace area was not something we were expecting to see definitely loads of room for improvement here.
The atmosphere/entertainment in the evenings was a bit of hit and miss and felt that was missing that holiday vibe.
Despite the cleanliness of the hotel and the outstanding staff, the issues with food protection and the presence of ants prevent me from giving a glowing recommendation. Overall, it was a good experience, but I’m not necessarily rushing back. The hotel has the potential to be excellent, but addressing the hygiene concerns is crucial.
Excellent friendly service from Aaron and Olga in entertainment also Marisol at check in desk along all the other staff we have interacted with during breakfast and dinner ( oh yes Alex waiter thanks for teaching me the correct way to order a glass a beer in spanish) .

I recently stayed at the Sheraton Fuerteventura and had a fantastic experience. The hotel is beautifully located right on the beach, with stunning sea views and easy access to local shops and the promenade. The rooms were spacious, clean, and very comfortable. I especially appreciated the variety of food in the restaurant and the extremely friendly, helpful staff who made the stay even more enjoyable.
The pool area was perfect for relaxing, and the spa was a real highlight. Overall, a peaceful and luxurious stay – highly recommended for couples or families looking for a relaxing getaway in the Canary Islands!
A special mention goes to Tom, Alena, Michela, Samuel and all the exceptional staff who went above and beyond to make my toddler's stay exceptional. Their kindness, patience, and thoughtful attention made a huge difference and created lovely memories for our family.
