Location of the resort was in the heart of the resort district in Punta Cana. The beach was full of seaweed but it was that Time of the year. First room that we had was not cold enough and it started leaking from the ceiling but when we asked for another one, they immediately got us a new one, so this was resolved quickly and efficiently. The second room had no issues except the AC was not as cool and there was no way to adjust it. The service here was top notch despite all of the issues with the room. Alex, the Guest Services representative was attentive and personable. Chicken Legs, in charge of activities, was great at his job in keeping all the guests engaged. If I could remember everyone’s name I would include them here but every single staff member from the waiters to the cleaning staff to the front desk staff were welcoming and hospitable. The food was a 6/10, but it’s a resort. We decided to go out to eat at Captain Cook for seafood which I would highly recommend.

I travel frequently throughout South America and have stayed at many all-inclusive resorts, and unfortunately this was by far the worst experience I’ve had.
We started our vacation at Punta Cana Princess Adults Only, and I would strongly recommend avoiding this resort if you care about room quality, food quality, or customer service. The rooms were outdated, hot, and felt unclean. The food was below average, and the service was honestly the biggest disappointment.
There is absolutely no sense of urgency from the staff. If you need anything—from towels to room service or assistance with an issue—you should expect to wait 30 minutes to over an hour, if anyone shows up at all. It genuinely felt like no one cared whether guests needed help.
To make matters worse, we paid an additional $500 for the VIP upgrade, expecting a higher level of service. Instead, the “concierge” was one of the rudest employees we encountered during the entire trip. He was dismissive, unhelpful, and had a terrible attitude. It’s hard to understand how someone with that level of customer service is placed in a concierge role.
Our excursion experience was just as frustrating. We booked three tours through Nexus Tours. The first two were fine, but the third—ironically the one we were most excited about—never happened because the driver never showed up to pick us up. When we contacted Nexus, they initially insisted the driver had been there and argued with us instead of trying to help. Only after we were able to prove the driver never arrived did they acknowledge the mistake. It was a very disappointing way to end our trip.
Halfway through our stay, we transferred to Grand Bavaro, and the difference was noticeable. The service was significantly better, and Francisco, along with several other staff members, was excellent. The only downside is that the resort is enormous, so getting around often requires waiting for trolleys that are frequently full.
This was our first trip to the Dominican Republic, so I can’t say whether this level of service is typical, but it certainly wasn’t what we’ve experienced at other all-inclusive resorts. Overall, Punta Cana Princess was a major disappointment, and the experience with Nexus Tours only added to our frustration. I would not recommend Punta Cana Princess to anyone looking for a relaxing, enjoyable vacation.

The entertainment staff was amazing throughout our stay. Especially Jazmin🤗.They were energetic, friendly, and always made guests feel welcome without being pushy. The shows were fun, professional, and full of positive energy. Every evening we looked forward to the entertainment program. Thank you for helping make our vacation even more enjoyable. Highly recommended!

Thought we would give this resort a go for our most recent visit to Punta Cana.
Let me start by saying that we have travelled the Caribbean extensively and have been to Punta Cana many times so we come to these resorts with an open mind and are typically able to predict what we will get for our money.
Pros:
- Food has been quite good so far
- Grounds are well kept and quite pretty
- Location would be good other than the resort’s handling of the Sargassum (see below)
- Rowell at the front desk and Jose at the beach bar are exceptional
- Rooms are spacious
- Good selection of restaurants when considering access to the 2 neighbouring properties
- Nice feature about this Adults only side of the Princess properties is that you don’t need any reservations for the (4) ala crate restaurants on-site (need to make reservations if you are booking restaurants at the neighbouring sister properties)
Cons:
- The resort does a poor job of managing the Sargassum on the beach. Given the significance and high profile nature of this issue recently, I would expect them to prioritize this. They only clean the beach once per day at most and as I am writing this, it’s been over 24 hours since it was cleaned and as such, it’s quite smelly. Really unfortunate as other resorts just around the corner have done much more to manage the Sargassum on the beach. They need to do far better otherwise, guests like us will only choose resorts that manage this well.
- While the rooms are spacious they are very dated and many of the furnishings are broken and damaged. The air conditioning is marginal at best.
- Other than Rowell and Jose mentioned above, many of the staff come across as genuinely unhappy. Not rude but just aren’t overly helpful or pleasant.
It’s certainly no 4 or 5 star (the latter is how they advertise their property). 3 star at best. I would likely be less critical and forgiving and provide a much higher overall rating if not for their management of the Sargassum on the beach (which is why we come here…the beach!).
One amendment. The restaurant “Le Petite Fondue” is certainly an exception to my comment about staff being unhelpful or unpleasant. The entire team in that restaurant is amazing! Always smiling, singing and service was the absolute very best we had. Kudos to all of them!
