Excellent service and clean environment. It is a adults only resort with open bars throughout the resort. They have dining options as well as different themes each day. The staff is very friendly and happy to help guests. They also provide excursion information if you would like to try them. We will definitely be returning in the future.

My husband and I had a terrible experience as we went to celebrate our anniversary …, So based on this five star review by TripAdvisor and Google…. All this 5 star info is absolutely false…… First of all we signed up for a VIP package and let me warn everyone now. Do not get the VIP package absolutely do not. They promise you all these things and you get very poor Service AND almost all OF THE THINGS PROMISED you really don’t get …. I told the front desk that it was our anniversary when we checked in and we didn’t get any kind of anniversary celebration info or anything. They bought us a banner,once we brought it too their attention when we was about to leave a day before. My husband and I had to travel to the sister locations to enjoy the rest of our vacation (they where amazing by the way) …. The food was not good . The lobster dinner that is promised in the VIP package basically is given to you with no way to crack into it, no sauce to use nothing… Lastly once we presented our issue to management, they said there was nothing we can do. The hotel is very outdated and the staff is very unfriendly. Will never return back to this hotel!! Most of the positive reviews that I’m seeing are by the entertainers walking around asking the guest while they entertained to leave a good star review with their names for raises or something. this is probably why there’s five star reviews or hotel and it’s completely not…. If you’re skeptical about booking here, please don’t. You will be disappointed. Don’t let those reviews and that five star rating fool you is definitely a joke, and not worth it!

I stayed here with a friend for five nights, and the experience was “almost good” but disappointing. The food was fine but very bland and repetitive. Pro tip: find the coffee espresso machines early and walk down the beach to the sister resort because their buffet has more selection. 3/10 for food. The pool and beach chair situation is frustrating. Guests wake up around 6am to reserve chairs for the entire day, so if you don’t go early, you’re out of luck. There simply aren’t enough chairs, which defeats the purpose of a resort. On top of that, towels were often unavailable, we waited up to an hour for clean ones, which shouldn’t be an issue at all. On the beach, you’re constantly approached by vendors (including some affiliated with the resort), which gets tiring when you’re just trying to relax. The alcohol packages are interesting. With the basic package, you’re served well-grade alcohol. Upgrading helps, but even after several drinks, it was surprisingly hard to feel much of anything. Overall, the resort is decent for the price point but if your budget allows, I’d recommend paying more for a better experience.

The 5 Stars is due to the amazing staff. Louis made us feel beyond welcomed, and safe through out our stay. I noticed he would go out of his way for several guests. Always smiling and provided the BEST service! We will never forget him! Emilio was so entertaining and a fabulous bartender! Pensio was another great bartender! Only because of them would I consider going back! Top Notch!

The staff and service at the resort was extremely good. The staff was very friendly in the platinum service section was Fantastic. The hotel is very clean and the cleaning staff were fantastic. The food was fresh and very delicious. We are already planning the next stay here in a few months. The final special dinner at the beach blew us away. We have stayed at many resort and this is tops. The staff at the final special dinner specifically Marlin, Estefania and Maria was fantastic. We loved this place

Just got back from the Grand Bavaro Princess resort. We had a very pleasant stay, the hotel territory is very green, clean and beautiful, with diverse views. The beach was clean and did not feel crowded. Beach bars serve pretry standard drinks but we really enjoyed the beer in particular. Food at the main restaurant was not as diverse as we expected, still plenty of options of fresh and delicious veggies and fruit. The other meats and fish were just there but quite bland. The a la cart restaurants were mid, the 80 dollar stake at Gaucho beach restaurant was WAY overpriced, do not go for it. Room was spacious and clean. We did not interact with the hotel animation team at all, they seemed quite uninterested towards the guests. And the same attitude was also shown by some other hotel stuff. I guess it helps to know Spanish but for us the language barrier was quite obvious and it did not help us feel always welcomed. Overall we would recommend this hotel for families who look for a relaxing place and nature.

Beautiful resort and grounds. My family has been here twice. Definitely worthwhile. Only downsides are there are only 3 trams (at most seating 30 max) circling the massive property picking up and dropping off people. With 4,000 being resort’s max capacity and even at 50% capacity at 2,000. That’s insane. Wait times are long and you’re literally playing musical chairs as the music stops to get a seat and then hope the rest of your family got seats as well. The other downside in platinum is that there is no quick food. You can definitely get food at PBG but that is sit down table service. Other than that, we all love the resort. So many restaurants and buffets for all your meals. Beautiful beach and very large main pool with smaller pools in platinum and family area. Pub is open 24/7 and a lot of fun on karaoke nights.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this hotel. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome and taken care of. The service was consistently friendly, professional, and attentive without being overwhelming. The room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. Housekeeping did a great job every day. The food exceeded our expectations — there was a great variety, everything was fresh, and the à la carte restaurants were especially impressive. The hotel grounds are beautiful and well kept, with plenty of space to relax. The beach and pool areas were clean and enjoyable, and there were always activities available for those who wanted entertainment. Overall, this hotel offers excellent value for the experience it provides. We truly enjoyed our stay and would definitely return. Highly recommended!

Cannot fault anything about this hotel, the staff, entertainment or food. Just came back from my honeymoon and we had the best time. The rooms and grounds are clean, the staff are very friendly and helpful. Food wise, we were impressed with all restaurants and the buffet and cannot say we had one bad meal. Entertainment staff were fantastic too. Thank you for making our honeymoon a memorable one! We will be back!!

This is our first time at MC. The beach is phenomenal as is Darel our butler. He checks in every day, has been on top of our reservation needs and because of him, we will be back :) The rooms are quite dated but they will be closed for renovations from April - November. Food has been good. Buffet at beach is the same every day but we switch it up with the Al la carte luncheon in the Gourmet restaurant. And the Gourmet was EXCEPTIONAL!! As I don't eat breakfast, they treated my husband with kindness everyday. They also decorated our table with flowers each time we came for dinner. Special thanks to Martina, Ariel for going beyond the call of duty and making our stay extra special ❤️

The staff was so friendly. Mata e coco was so funny. The nightly shows were very entertaining - like having our own Coco Bongo experiences! They have an entire team dedicated to entertaining the guests with games and parties, so much to do! The food was fantastic - 5 restaurants to choose from and we never had the same thing for dinner twice! Can’t wait to come back!

Our experience at this resort was extremely disappointing. The hotel itself is very large and beautiful, and the beach is absolutely stunning. The property has great potential and could offer a wonderful vacation experience. However, all of this was overshadowed by the poor service provided by most of the staff. There was no consistency at the bars, the same drink tasted different every time and was usually poorly made. The food deserves a separate mention. Although there was plenty of variety, the quality and flavor were very questionable. For a 5-star resort, the food was extremely mediocre and far below expectations. One of the worst experiences happened at the Rodeo Grill, the beachfront restaurant. We timed it: it took 2 hours and 15 minutes for our food to arrive. This is simply unacceptable. To make matters worse, when the food finally came, it was not tasty at all. Unfortunately, things got even worse. We were traveling with a large group of friends, and almost half of them got sick with symptoms of food poisoning. My husband and son spent an entire day vomiting and suffering from diarrhea, which was a terrible way to end our 4-day stay. There were several other issues as well, including multiple requests that were never addressed. I cannot recommend this resort to anyone. The lack of professionalism, attention to guests, and overall service went far beyond simple inconvenience — it felt like complete neglect. This was not the 5-star experience we were expecting. The only thing that saved the trip was being there with all our friends.

Overall I would recommend Majestic Colonial. Rooms outdated. Entertainment average. Beach volleyball had to be stopped every day because of other events ( weddings, yoga and such) happening at the same place. Food was great and service close to perfect. All the bartenders were very friendly and accommodating. Beautiful and clean Beach.

Franklin, one of the most energetic people from the resort! He is always there to chat, dance, and make you laugh!! Cruz, if you’re ever looking to grab a beverage from a lovely humble man you go find Cruz! He will make you smile, laugh and always top you up. I really recommend you find Cruz on your stay! The resort is very beautiful and great vibes all around! The pools are great, beach is perfect and the food is wonderful! No issues with any of the food or drinks! Do be shy get out there and dance, smile and do all the activities the staff set up!!
