I was in contact with the property prior to the travel date due to some negative reviews. I have to say we were impressed. The room we stayed in was large and nicely decorated for our anniversary. Aside from the sewage odor in the area of the Platnum member, the resort is absolutely beautiful. The staff were very warm and welcoming. Our first all inclusive, it was very pleasant and worth the trip. We stayed away from the salad bar, drank bottled water, beer and wine only. The food were delicious. The pool and beach were close together and that is just wonderful. A shout out to one of the managers, Manny thanks for helping us arranging our transportation to the airport when we had no cell service. And yes Greisy, one of the staff at the buffet...was very attentive, loving and fun! We would definitely return.

We just spent our vacation at this resort last week with our 1-year-old daughter, and unfortunately, we left disappointed.
I’ll start with the positives: the food was plentiful and offered a good variety, which was important for us since traveling with a 1-year-old can be challenging. However, even here the service was inconsistent — some days the staff were kind and helpful, but other days we weren’t even offered water at the table and had to get and clean our own high chair.
The beach was full of seaweed, making it very difficult to enter the water. While I understand this is a natural occurrence and not entirely under the resort’s control, it would make a huge difference to invest in a net placed further out to help reduce the seaweed problem.
Now, the main reasons for my low rating:
Room cleanliness was unacceptable. The carpet was never vacuumed, the shower was never cleaned, and towels had to be requested every single time, even though the old ones had been removed. Housekeeping often came in the afternoon, during our child’s nap, and when asked to come in the morning, the cleaning was superficial at best — essentially just making the bed — while ignoring obvious needs like replacing towels or providing shower gel.
The pool was in disgusting condition for almost the entire 7-day stay. On multiple mornings, the water contained debris — including a chicken bone I personally asked staff to remove at 8 a.m. The cleaning staff often stood around talking instead of working, and on another day they were scrubbing the pool edges with chlorine at 9 a.m., when guests were already nearby, exposing everyone to unhealthy fumes. Despite this, the water remained filthy. Only the first and last day showed any sign of proper cleaning.
With the ocean water unsuitable for swimming due to seaweed, the pool was the only real option — yet it was unusable for most of our stay. This is unacceptable for a resort that advertises itself as all-inclusive and family-friendly.
We will not be returning. Good food cannot make up for poor service, lack of hygiene, and inadequate maintenance of facilities.

I would come back to this resort in a heartbeat! The service was unmatched and the resort over all was an excellent choice. Cleanliness is something I prioritize when choosing a resort and this one topped it. The food was wonderful and various selections to choose from. Schneider was wonderful at the check in process and was always available when we needed him.

This place is majestic. The greenery is amazing, the beach access and the rooms are spacious. However, the service has been disappointing. A vast majority of the food service employees seemed bothered by our presence. Simple requests like more bread, water or silverware would make employees unhappy. Room service was also hit or miss. Overall, I would not stay here again. Yes, I sent an email and discussed my concerns with the concierge. These are my personal observations.

I recently returned from an 8-day stay at the Grand Bávaro Princess Resort with my boyfriend at the end of May. We’re both in our mid-20s, and while this was my first time staying at a resort, it was his second. Unfortunately, the experience left a lot to be desired, and I wanted to share an honest account for other travelers, especially young couples, considering this destination.
Arrival & Check-In:
Upon arrival, the resort looked nice at first glance, but the welcome was underwhelming. Staff were available to assist with luggage, which was appreciated, but the open-air layout of the lobby made it uncomfortably hot and humid, there’s no air conditioning in this area, only ceiling fans struggling against the Caribbean heat.
We arrived around noon, knowing check-in wouldn’t be until 3 PM, so we were directed to the buffet to pass the time. Unfortunately, this dining area is also open-air, which made for an uncomfortably hot experience. Flies and birds hovered near plates, which made it hard to relax or enjoy the meal. The food was average at best and lacked variety, rotating through the same limited options each day.
In summary, this stay was disappointing and not at all what we hoped for. If you’re a young couple looking for a romantic or exciting getaway, I’d recommend looking elsewhere. You won’t get much value or enjoyment here. However, if you’re a family seeking a budget-friendly, kid-oriented resort, it might be more suitable.
Would I return? Definitely not.
