Disappointing Stay Lacking Guest Engagement and Safety Standards
My recent stay at Dome Beach Marina in Cyprus fell well short of expectations, primarily due to a complete lack of guest engagement, atmosphere, and basic safety oversight around the pools.
The biggest issue during our time at the resort was the animation program or rather, the near-total lack of it. There is virtually no active involvement with guests. From the moment we arrived, it felt as though we were staying at a resort in Poland rather than experiencing the renowned warmth and hospitality of Cyprus. The animation staff's primary language was Polish, and the overall vibe felt disconnected and cold, leaving us missing the fun, energy, and cultural richness we had hoped to experience.
Additionally, the execution of the activities needs serious improvement. There were consistently no announcements made at the beginning of scheduled activities. This lack of communication meant guests were often left unaware that something was starting, leading to people simply walking away and resulting in quiet, uncheerful evenings with very little atmosphere.
Beyond the entertainment, safety around the pool areas is a major and concerning issue.
* The smaller pool designated for young children is completely unattended, without lifeguards.
* The larger pool features a lifeguard post, but it was either entirely unoccupied or manned by staff who were entirely distracted, too busy looking at their phones or chatting with coworkers to pay attention to swimmers.
* The lack of supervision results in undisciplined guests taking, and consuming food while being inside the pool.
While the location in Cyprus has potential, the entertainment, guest relations, and basic safety protocols at this hotel require an immediate overhaul.

Perfect accommodation, very friendly staff. A great location for those who are looking for the classic Ayia Napa experience, while also having access to a beach that is perfect for snorkeling with crystal clear water.
While doing some light snorkeling we were able to see many unique local fish and wildlife such as, pufferfish, octopus and trumpetfish, and it is also possible to find turtles. The beach itself is well protected by the small archipelago, meaning we did not notice any intense currents, so it is great for even those who are unfamiliar with seas.
Great food options, with all inclusive you have the option to choose from 4 different restaurants, with each featuring a different cuisine, but even the main restaurant included with our half board had amazing dishes daily, we always started and ended the day with delicious and interesting meals.
We even walked from beach to beach, as all beaches on the Ayia Napa coast are connected by a walkway, each having slight differences such as sand, shallowness and amount of people per beach. I especially preferred our beach for the last option as on most weekdays our beach was much calmer and more relaxing, while the others are very full, and felt overwhelming.
You even have close options for getting to the city center, as the bus station is quite close, and bus 101 takes you straight to the main points of interest.
Some notable extras are a great wedding venue right on the beach, as well as an extensive paddlebording establishment next to the hotel.

The environment of the hotel is fantastic, creating a relaxing and welcoming atmosphere throughout the property. The location is perfect, right by the beach with beautiful surroundings and easy access to nearby attractions. The rooms are stylish, modern, and exceptionally clean, offering everything needed for a comfortable stay. The beach area is stunning, and the sunbeds are well arranged and comfortable, making it easy to spend the whole day enjoying the seaside.
A big thank you to Hardip, who made our experience even more enjoyable. His friendly attitude, positive energy, and excellent customer service really stood out. He has a remarkable ability to engage with guests and create a great atmosphere around the bar. We had a wonderful stay and would happily recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a memorable holiday experience.

The only truly positive aspect of this hotel is the staff. Most of the employees were incredibly friendly, attentive, and welcoming. Unfortunately, the hotel itself is nowhere near a four-star standard.
Our room overlooked the courtyard, where what appeared to be air conditioning units produced an extremely loud, constant noise throughout the day and night. Sleeping was very difficult, and even closing the balcony door did not reduce the noise. The room's air conditioner and mini fridge were also unusually loud, making the experience even worse. Since all other rooms were occupied, we had no option to move.
The rooms are outdated and poorly maintained. The balcony door required excessive force to open and close, and the room itself was very small. There was no hairdryer or bathrobes, which are amenities I would normally expect from a four-star hotel. There were also no power outlets near the beds, making it impossible to charge a phone overnight without leaving it across the room, which was very inconvenient.
The room description also mentioned a bathtub with a jacuzzi, but what we found was an old, worn bathtub that did not look inviting or particularly clean enough to use.
The facilities were also disappointing. The pools close very early, after 6 p.m., and there is no evening entertainment at all. Even the hotel's private beach charges extra for umbrellas and sunbeds, which was surprising. The hotel is also quite far from the town center and public transportation, making it inconvenient to get around.
The food was repetitive and below average. The cocktails were especially disappointing. I had to throw one away because it tasted nothing like the drink I had ordered.
Another issue was the lack of consideration for the overall guest experience. The dining area was often filled with screaming children throwing food, making it very difficult to enjoy a meal. While I understand that families travel with children, the atmosphere felt completely unmanaged.
Finally, although most of the staff were excellent, I had a couple of unpleasant encounters with employees whose behavior came across as inappropriate and overly flirtatious.
Overall, I would not have chosen this hotel had I known what to expect. The friendly staff deserve recognition, but they cannot make up for the outdated facilities, constant noise, disappointing amenities, poor food and drinks, and overall experience.
Considering the price I paid for a seven-night stay, the quality of the experience did not come close to justifying the cost. The overall standard of the hotel fell well below what I would expect from a four-star property, and I left feeling disappointed with the value for money.

All in all, our stay was excellent. The hotel was spotless, the food was genuinely good, and being right on the beachfront made the whole experience even better. The staff were warm, welcoming, and always ready to help, which added a really nice touch to our holiday.
The only downside was the connecting door in our room. Although it was locked, it offered almost no sound insulation, so we could hear everything our neighbours were saying — literally everything. It didn’t ruin the stay, but it was definitely the one thing that took away from an otherwise perfect experience.
