Lovely resort. Very helpful staff (who accommodated my child when she got poorly by allowing food into the room), nice rooms with full air-conditioning, decent food with a good choice and daily rotating dishes. Many pools to choose from, lifeguards on duty around the pools, great choice of drinks and different activities to do in the day and entertainment at night. I Highly recommended staying here.

We arrived at SBH Costa Calma Beach Resort expecting the holiday from hell after reading some of the online reviews, but it turned out to be one of my favourite holidays I've ever been on.
The food was excellent, with plenty of choice and something different available each day. The rooms were comfortable, clean, and did exactly what we needed them to do. The staff were friendly, helpful, and always happy to assist with any questions or requests.
We also rented a car through the hotel, which was straightforward and made it much easier to explore the island. While there isn't a huge amount to do in the immediate local area, having a car allowed us to visit some beautiful beaches and attractions further afield.
Overall, we had a fantastic stay and found that our experience was completely different from many of the reviews we'd read beforehand. We wouldn't hesitate to return.

Nice time- hotel didn’t offer plain water, only water that was with fruits and such- tasted very strange so stock up on bottled water. Pool was great and the outdoor space was lovely.
I will say that the bars often only had one person working them so would be a long wait for drinks. Also at check in they didn’t explain meal times or what was on where ect.

You know when you are leading up to the well deserved and costly family holiday and you count the days until you get there? It's not a great sign when after two days of being there, you're counting the days before you can leave.
I'm not a critical person but the bad experience needs to be called out.
First and foremost, knowing we had a booking as a family, a booking made 6 months before, the hotel were unable to accommodate a family room, there was a mention of additional fees to try to sort something out and after paying close to €2000 for the week already, we declined.
We were given two separate rooms in a building about 5 minutes walk from the main hotel, pools and dining area
We were put on the 5th floor and when the lift worked, it was screeching all night, when it didn't work, we had five flights of stairs to deal with every time we left the rooms or returned. Of the two rooms we were given, one had mildly functional air conditioning and the other one simply blew warm air. I took the warm room to let my wife and daughter have some level of comfort and for the first two nights, I managed an average of 3.5 hours sleep.
This wasn't all down to the heat, it was also partly due to the fact that the "entertainment" for want of a better word, was literally across from our room there floors down, with an open plan interior patio style, we could literally hear everything until it shut up shop around 11.30. not ideal with kids who need to sleep earlier, meaning that everyone was awake until then and mom and dad had no time to relax together and unwind when little ones were sleeping.
The revellers returning from their drinking sessions around 2am each night seemed to enjoy the echos their loud drink voices made and shouted as loud as they liked all the way to their rooms.
The actual bed itself is also a sore point, literally and figuratively, the firmness and lack of softness ensured that no matter what side you lay on, it was uncomfortable. Don't get me wrong, I like a firm mattress, being 6'2" and 115 kilos, soft bedding sn't the best, but the mattresses in SBH really do feel like wooden boards.
The last straw was when my wife went to one of the bars she was charged €2 for two coffees, this is in an all inclusive hotel and no explanation was given. My wife doesn't speak Spanish and signed the receipt. The bar worker failed to point out to my wife that there were self serve machines literally a few feet away that had no charge.
There's broken glass peppered around various areas of the pool as no one seems to mind that a few select partygoers bring glass containers into the pool area and to the water and I have the little gash under my right foot to prove it, and staff passed by while a group of young Germans smoked in the pool and tipped their ash into the water and said absolutely nothing.
To sum up with a positive; the service staff are friendly, the food isn't bad and the pools are clean, "crystal" clear in fact, and yes, pun intended.
This review was written after only 2 days in the hotel. Only 5 more sleeps until we get out of here. Sad but true that we're counting the days we have to leave rather than the days we have left to enjoy.
***Update after the holiday; the situation went from bad to worse, the reception staff lying constantly, a replacement room that I was asked to sign a waiver for, absolving the hotel of any and all responsibility for anything that happened before or after the change, I refused to sign and waited hours without any room until the keys were finally handed over without the need to sign anything, to top it off, the air-conditioning in the replacement room didn't work either. The director finally met with us on the day before we left and offered us the master suite as a compensation for everything we went through. We spent the last night in the suite, which overlooked the pool and surprise surprise, we couldn't sleep due to the revellers in and around the pool all night. The lights in the master bedroom also didn't work as a final hurrah. Would I stay here again? Not a chance, 100% nein.

We had an amazing holiday at this resort!
Its at the great location,next to the beaches.Pools are great,clean,well maintained,kids pool at the perfect temperature.
Food was very good,lots of variety,fresh,tasty and we were full after every meal.
Rooms were cleaned ,even tought hotel has few outdated bits to replace for better impersion.
And definitly the best part were animation team!Vivian was brilliant with kids in Mini Club! Filipo was making sure that we are entertainmened with activities,and other ones like Francesco and Anna were super friendly. They helped take our holiday to the next level.
We left with great memories and hopefully its wasnt our last time!
